Chapter 23: Finding Gift [1]

10,000x Rebate System: Every Return Makes Me Stronger

Amon walked through the crowded market until he finally spotted Seraphina standing beside a large fountain.

The evening sun was beginning to set, covering the streets in a gentle golden light that made the blue-haired girl stand out from everyone around her.

She wore a flowery grey skirt with a neatly tucked white shirt, while her long blue hair had been carefully styled with a small braid running along one side.

Several people passing by couldn’t help but turn their heads toward her.

Amon slowed down as he approached, and Seraphina noticed him almost immediately.

Her expression brightened as she smiled and waved her hand.

"Amon!"

Amon walked toward her and stopped a few steps away.

"You came early."

Seraphina nodded her head, which made her hair dance around. "I don’t like making people wait for me."

Amon nodded in approval. "That’s actually a good habit."

He looked around the busy street before returning his gaze to her.

"Shall we go?"

"Yes."

The two of them began walking through the market.

This particular part of the city was completely different from the ordinary markets Amon had visited before.

Almost every shop was designed for high-level adventurers, with expensive weapons, enchanted armor, rare materials, and magical items displayed behind reinforced glass.

Amon looked around with interest. ’This is my first time here.’

He had visited the second-hand market several times, but this was his first time entering a market specifically designed for adventurers.

Seraphina glanced toward the different shops. "Where should we go first?"

She paused before sighing gently.

"I still don’t know whether I should get something specifically suited to my Ice affinity or choose a universal weapon."

Amon thought about it for a moment. "Wouldn’t it be better to get something suited to you?"

While speaking, Amon casually shifted his position so that he was walking on the road-facing side of the sidewalk.

"Yes, I was thinking the same."

Seraphina noticed the small movement as a faint smile appeared on her lips.

"Aren’t you a noble gentleman?"

Amon looked at her and couldn’t help laughing.

"Our first conversation was literally me blackmailing you into marrying me." He glanced toward her with a shameless expression. "No noble person would do that."

Seraphina smiled slightly before asking, "Do you think you’re a bad person?"

Amon became quiet for a moment as he thought about the question seriously.

"I think I’m a hypocrite."

Seraphina looked at him curiously.

Amon continued walking while speaking slowly. "I’ll tell other people to respect women and give them freedom."

He paused before carefully articulating his words so as not to make himself sound like a creep.

"But if I actually loved someone, I’d probably want to isolate her so she’d stay with me all the time."

Seraphina’s cheeks suddenly became red, and Amon noticed her expression and stared at her strangely.

"What the fuck are you thinking?"

"Nothing!"

Seraphina immediately turned her head away.

She pointed toward a large building ahead. "Let’s go inside."

Amon narrowed his eyes suspiciously.

’Strange Girl.’

Still, he followed her inside the building.

The building they entered was enormous.

In fact, it wasn’t really one building.

The shop occupied six connected buildings, with each section dedicated to a different category of adventurer equipment.

Weapons, armor, shields, accessories, magical tools, and countless other items filled the enormous displays.

Amon looked around before activating [Merchant’s Divine Insight].

Information immediately appeared beside several items.

[Actual Value: 1,200 Gold Coins.]

[Seller’s Price: 1,190 Gold Coins.]

Amon blinked. ’That’s accurate.’

He checked another item that was placed on the side.

[Actual Value: 4,500 Gold Coins.]

[Seller’s Price: 4,520 Gold Coins.]

Amon’s eyes narrowed slightly. ’They’ve got someone who can determine the true value of items.’

That explained why there were so few obvious bargains.

The shop wasn’t simply relying on ordinary appraisals.

Someone here was probably capable of identifying the actual value of magical equipment.

Amon and Seraphina continued walking through the armor section.

Eventually, something caught Amon’s attention, which made him stop in his tracks.

On one of the displays was a piece of armor that looked more like a swimsuit than actual protective equipment.

The lower portion was particularly revealing, leaving very little to the imagination.

Amon stared at it in disbelief. "...What the fuck?"

Seraphina looked toward the armor. "What?"

"Why would someone wear this inside a dungeon?" Amon pointed toward it. "That thing barely covers anything."

Seraphina frowned.

"Don’t be rude." She glanced at the armor again. "Some people like wearing that type of equipment."

Amon stared at the swimsuit armor for several seconds, and then he looked toward Seraphina.

"Should we buy this for your mother?"

Seraphina’s fist immediately hit his arm.

"Don’t even think about it!"

Amon rubbed his arm, which didn’t even hurt.

"She’s extremely conservative!"

Amon looked at her with a confused expression. "Then how the fuck did she give birth to a daughter like you?"

Seraphina’s face instantly turned red.

"Amonnnn!"

He laughed and quickly walked away before she could hit him again.

They eventually reached the weapon section.

Rows of weapons filled the walls, ranging from ordinary swords to magical weapons that were clearly designed for experienced adventurers.

Amon activated his Merchant’s Divine Insight again.

Most of the weapons were fairly priced.

Still, there were a few that caught his attention.

One of them was a staff with a strangely shaped head.

It looked almost like an axe made entirely from translucent ice.

Amon stopped in front of it.

[Glacial Executioner’s Staff]

[Grade: Gold]

[Seller’s Price: 3,200 Gold Coins]

[Actual Value: 3,450 Gold Coins]

[Effect: Increases Ice Mana efficiency by 24%.]

[Additional Effect: Ice-type spells gain increased penetration.]

Amon’s eyes brightened slightly. ’This could actually work.’

He glanced toward Seraphina, who was examining another weapon several steps away.

Amon didn’t say anything yet. He wanted to see what else the shop had before making a decision.

The two continued searching until they eventually reached a staircase leading toward the third building.

Unlike the previous buildings, the third building was much quieter.

There were no large weapon displays.

Instead, countless small crystal tablets were arranged inside reinforced glass cases.

Amon immediately understood what they were.

[Skill Tablets.]

Each tablet contained a skill that could be absorbed directly by an awakened individual.

Seraphina looked around. "These are expensive."

Amon activated his Merchant’s Divine Insight.

His eyes quickly widened. ’...They’re not.’

He checked one of the skills that was displayed on the side.

[Skill Tablet: Flame Spear]

[Grade: Silver]

[Seller’s Price: 800 Gold Coins]

[Actual Value: 1,900 Gold Coins]

His eyes then shifted to the one beside it.

[Skill Tablet: Earth Shield]

[Grade: Silver]

[Seller’s Price: 1,100 Gold Coins]

[Actual Value: 3,200 Gold Coins]

Amon’s expression slowly became strange. ’Why are almost all of these underpriced?’

He walked farther into the floor while examining the tablets one after another.

Most of them were being sold for significantly less than their actual value.

’Is there something wrong with the appraisal system here?’

Amon couldn’t figure it out until his eyes suddenly stopped.

Among hundreds of ordinary-looking tablets, one particular tablet stood out.

It was an old, dark crystal tablet placed alone inside a small glass case.

Amon activated Merchant’s Divine Insight.

The information appeared.

His expression immediately changed. ’...What the hell is this?’
