Chen Xiaolin dug for a while and managed to make ten pits. Luckily, the soil in the space was loose; otherwise, she probably wouldn’t have been able to dig at all.

She even began considering buying an excavator. With such a large stretch of land, relying solely on her own strength—who knew how long it would take to finish digging?

With that thought, Chen Xiaolin exited the space and placed another online order for an excavator. It happened to be from a local store, so it would be delivered the next day.Full novel: A 1970s Transmigration: An Orphan Girl’s Comeback — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The following day, Chen Xiaolin went as usual to Aunt Zhao’s shop to stock up on buns. This time, she again bought fifty of each kind. This would be her last time stockpiling buns—there were already enough in her space to last her for several years.

By noon, the items she had ordered online the day before began arriving one after another. After the workers unloaded everything and left, Chen Xiaolin waved her hand and stored all the goods into her space.

Seeing that she had almost finished stockpiling, Chen Xiaolin decided to go to Yiwu the next day.

When she arrived in Yiwu, she first rented a warehouse without surveillance cameras, then began a mad shopping spree. When she saw vintage Shanghai-brand watches, she bought out the entire stock. Seeing how many watches she purchased, the shop owner even threw in quite a few electronic watches for free.

She spotted various styles of cloth shoes and bought over a thousand pairs.

She also bought a thousand pieces each of thermal underwear and sweaters.

Hair ties and hair clips—she bought over a hundred boxes of those as well.

Old-style flashlights—she bought over a hundred, along with ten boxes of matching batteries.

When she came across a stall selling bras and underwear, Chen Xiaolin suddenly realized she had forgotten to stock up on those. She immediately bought a thousand pairs of underwear, a thousand bras, and a thousand camisoles.

She also purchased one hundred thousand burlap sacks, over a hundred bundles of fabric scraps, a hundred boxes of gloves, and plenty of scissors, nail clippers, fruit knives, matches, lighters, and candles.

After finishing collecting the goods, Chen Xiaolin hurriedly flew to Sichuan Province. She stocked up on hotpot base, cured pork, cured sausages, and all kinds of Sichuan dishes.

She stayed in Sichuan for two days, then flew to Guangdong Province. In Guangzhou, she stocked up on various dim sum items, roast goose, roast duck, and rice noodle rolls.

It happened to be lychee and longan season in Guangdong, so Chen Xiaolin also stockpiled a thousand pounds of longans and a thousand pounds of lychees.

She stayed in Guangdong for a full week, finishing all the stockpiling she had planned.

Her next stop was Xinjiang.

Because of altitude sickness, Chen Xiaolin only stayed in Xinjiang for two days. She bought a thousand pounds of cotton, a hundred pounds of cotton seeds, a full set of machines for harvesting cotton and making cotton quilts, several hundred pounds of raisins, and a thousand pounds of fresh grapes. When she saw fresh beef and mutton for sale, she also bought a thousand pounds of beef and mutton.

Originally, Chen Xiaolin had planned to go to Inner Mongolia as well, but because she couldn’t adapt to the plateau climate, she had no choice but to return home.

Back home, Chen Xiaolin finally let out a sigh of relief. After calculating everything, she realized she had spent less than one hundred million on all those supplies.

She decided to transfer all the properties under her name to her mother the next day. She wondered if her stepmother—who had always wanted to take possession of the old house—would be so angry she’d cough up blood if she found out it was already under her biological mother’s name.

She also planned to transfer all her money into her mother’s bank account. She didn’t want any accidents in the future that might allow her “stepfather” to claim a share of her money.

She also needed to retrieve the items in the bank’s safe-deposit box. She still didn’t know what her grandfather had left her!

The next day, Zhao Xiaoqian first went to the bank and transferred all the money into her mother’s account, then took everything out of the safe-deposit box. Luckily, she had brought a large bag—otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to carry it all.

After leaving the bank, Chen Xiaolin put everything from the bag into her space. After all, no place was safer than the space.

In the afternoon, Chen Xiaolin went to the Housing Authority and transferred ownership of both the old family house and the home she currently lived in to her mother.

Once everything was settled, Chen Xiaolin finally relaxed. From now on, she could slow down and stockpile supplies at a more leisurely pace.

Back home, she took out the bag she had stored in the space earlier that day, planning to organize the things her grandfather had left behind.

When she opened the small box inside the bag, Chen Xiaolin was stunned. The box had two layers. The top layer held fifty gold bars. The bottom layer contained two pairs of spring-colored ice jadeite bangles, one pair of emerald jadeite bangles, and one pair of high-grade violet jadeite bangles. The rest were various jade pendants and rings, all of excellent quality.

Chen Xiaolin really wanted to burst out laughing. She had suddenly become incredibly rich—what was she supposed to do? If her stepmother ever found out that her grandfather had left her so many valuable items, she’d probably be furious enough to cough up blood.

After examining everything, Chen Xiaolin stored it all back into the space. She wasn’t short of money anyway—these were keepsakes her grandfather had left for her.

Once the vacation ended, Chen Xiaolin returned to school for classes. All the way until graduation, she never transmigrated, nor did the apocalypse ever arrive.

After graduating, she decided to go on a spontaneous trip. Her first destination would be the Beautiful Country (the U.S.), to see if she could buy some self-defense weapons there.

After arriving in the U.S. and resting for a day, Chen Xiaolin went to an underground casino in New York City and met someone she had contacted in advance, from whom she bought ten handguns and a thousand rounds of ammunition.

She stayed in the U.S. for two more days when she suddenly remembered how female protagonists in novels would seize entire ports and docks. That thought made her restless. Over the past two days, she had already wandered around New York’s major ports several times. Watching the endless flow of shipping containers made her eyes light up—how could she let such a good opportunity pass? Since the Beautiful Country was such a robber nation with so much money to stir up trouble everywhere, she might as well take advantage of it herself.

Chen Xiaolin slept all day to make sure she’d have enough energy to cause trouble at the docks that night. A little after eight in the evening, she checked out of her hotel early. She took a car to the vicinity of the port, found a blind spot without surveillance cameras, and entered her space to rest.

After midnight, the entire port fell silent. Chen Xiaolin disguised herself as a blonde, blue-eyed American woman before stepping out of the space.

She started from the area farthest from the night-shift workers. In about ten minutes, she had collected over a hundred shipping containers. By then, the guards finally noticed that nearly a third of the containers were gone and immediately sounded the alarm.

Seeing she had been discovered, Chen Xiaolin quickly used the chaos to escape the port via her space.

Only after she was seated on the plane did Chen Xiaolin finally relax. What had happened the night before was truly thrilling.

After returning to her home country, Chen Xiaolin went to a lawyer and drafted a will. Upon her death, all the property under her name would be donated to the Red Cross to help impoverished children in mountainous regions.
