“Hubby, come take a look. The supporting character in this novel actually has exactly the same name as us.”

Li Ruolan showed her phone to her husband, Deng Minghao, who was lying beside her.

Deng Minghao didn’t like reading novels. He glanced at it briefly and then looked away. “Probably just a coincidence. It’s getting late, read a bit more and then go to sleep. Li Ruolan nodded but didn’t listen. Stopping in the middle of a good novel was pure torture.

By the time she closed her eyes, it was already midnight, and she had read more than half the book.

Then she had a dream.

In the dream, Li Ruolan was born in the late 1950s as the third child in her family. She had two older sisters and a younger brother.

Before she was born, people said her mother’s belly was pointed, which meant she must be carrying a big baby boy. Li Ruolan’s parents were overjoyed. Unexpectedly, the child was born to another daughter.

Because of this, Li Ruolan was disliked by her parents. Due to her birth, the couple even became the target of ridicule from those around them.

Later, when her younger brother Li Baozong was born, everything changed. Because he was a boy, he received the love of the entire family. Li Ruolan and her two sisters became his personal servants.

The dream was filled with scenes of Li Ruolan never having enough to eat or wear. In winter, she did not even have a thick coat and was bullied by both her sisters and her brother.

Fortunately, when it came to schooling, Li Ruolan’s mother treated all four children equally and sent them to school.

Of course, this was not out of kindness. Letting the girls attend school was so they could marry well after graduation and bring in higher bride prices.

Li Ruolan’s eldest and second sisters were both engaged as soon as they graduated from high school. The eldest sister was directly sold by their parents in exchange for a bride price.

The second sister was more capable. She found a job and moved out of the family home.

At that point, the dream suddenly ended.

Li Ruolan opened her eyes and saw the ceiling of her own home.

“What kind of nonsense is this? Those Li family parents are completely unworthy. All they care about is their son.” Thinking of everything in the dream made Li Ruolan so angry her chest hurt.

This was true, extreme favoritism toward sons. Daughters were nothing more than commodities to be sold, all to raise their precious boy. The thought made her furious.

While she was still seething, Deng Minghao suddenly sat up, rubbing his head. “I don’t know what’s going on. I dreamed all night. In the dream, there was someone with the same name as me, with memories from childhood onward.”

Li Ruolan was startled. “Don’t tell me it was the same as mine?”

Deng Minghao stared at her for a long moment before saying, “Yes. In my dream, Deng Minghao was born in Beijing, and he had a classmate named Li Ruolan. She also had two older sisters…”

Li Ruolan rubbed her temples. “Hubby, I had the same dream. If nothing unexpected happens, the two of us might be about to transmigrate into the novel.”

“Could it just be a coincidence?” Deng Minghao asked after a long silence.

The two of them sat facing each other without speaking. After a while, Li Ruolan said, “It might really be a coincidence. Just a dream. Maybe it’s simply thinking too much during the day and dreaming at night.

But if we really are going to transmigrate into the novel, strange things should start happening to us, like special abilities, powers, or even a space.”

Li Ruolan opened her mouth wide. She and Deng Minghao were once again left staring at each other in silence.

Because the moment Li Ruolan said the word “space,” both she and Deng Minghao appeared inside one.

They exchanged a look. With a thought, they returned to their bed. With another thought, they were back inside the space again.

“It looks like you were right. We really are about to transmigrate into the novel,” Deng Minghao finally said, breaking the silence.

The two sat on the bed, thinking about their lives for a long time. Li Ruolan said, “Since we’re going to transmigrate into the novel, we need to prepare.

Once we transmigrate, this world will basically be over for us. We’re both only children and don’t have kids, so the biggest concern is our parents’ care in old age.

Let’s sell the house and split the money in half, sending it to both sets of parents.”

Deng Minghao had no objections. Since they didn’t know when the transmigration would happen, they didn’t dare waste any time. They even stopped going to work to handle everything.

Deng Minghao took full responsibility for selling the house, while Li Ruolan handled matters inside the space.

Their space was not large. It only had five acres of black soil, with a well in the center. The well water was milky white and fragrant. Li Ruolan knew this had to be the legendary spiritual spring water.

To the left of the well was a small wooden house, and to the right was a warehouse. That was everything in the space.

Because the money was meant to be left for their parents’ retirement, Li Ruolan did not plan to stockpile supplies. She only bought large quantities of seeds and planted the entire space.

After confirming that crops could not be planted using mental commands and that the spiritual spring water could not speed up growth, Li Ruolan bought a sowing tool online. At night, the couple planted crops together inside the space.

They planted one acre each of wheat, corn, and dry rice. Half an acre was planted with sweet potatoes, half an acre with cotton. The final acre was mostly fenced off for raising chickens, ducks, geese, cows, sheep, and pigs, with the remaining area planted with vegetables.

They bought semi-grown chicks, ducklings, and goslings, twenty of each. Since the space was warm in winter and cool in summer, they assumed there would be no bacteria and no risk of death.

They bought two calves, which cost quite a bit of money. They also bought four sheep and four pigs, all one male and three females.

Behind the wooden house and beside the poultry pens, Li Ruolan planted fruit trees. In this way, the space was completely filled.

Four months passed. The house had been sold, and the money had been transferred to their parents’ bank accounts. They only kept 30,000 yuan for themselves.

The 30,000 yuan was used to buy essential daily necessities.

Seeing such large sums of money transferred, both sets of parents called to ask what was going on.

After discussing it, Li Ruolan and Deng Minghao went back home once and explained the possibility of transmigration to both families.

They also brought large amounts of spiritual spring water for their parents to store, hoping it would help improve their health.

After four months, all the crops in the space had matured. Li Ruolan and Deng Minghao spent over a week harvesting everything.

1,000 jin of wheat, 1,000 jin of dry rice, 1,000 jin of corn, 1,500 jin of sweet potatoes, and 400 jin of cotton.

They also harvested large amounts of vegetables and potatoes.

After harvesting, the wheat and rice were hulled using a foot-powered multifunctional hulling machine. The wheat was laid out to dry inside the space and was fully dry within a few days.

The rice was stored directly in the warehouse. When they wanted to eat, they could simply take it out.

Deng Minghao somehow borrowed a flour mill and rented a warehouse. After working for several days, they finally ground all 1,000 jin of wheat into flour.

After the corn was harvested, the stalks were cut down and used as feed for the cows and sheep. The corn kernels were removed with a hand-cranked sheller and then ground with a manual grinder to feed the chickens, ducks, geese, and pigs.

The corn roots left in the ground disappeared the next day, automatically digested by the space, just like animal waste.

After all the crops were harvested, Li Ruolan and Deng Minghao rested for a full day. They then replanted everything before finally taking the time to rest properly.
