When the servant saw his master approaching, he quickly pulled out a chair.

He glanced at the young girl in Qin Yu’s arms and moved the chair closest to the head of the table a bit away.

But Qin Yu didn’t place Wen Wu in a separate seat—he held her on his lap.Full novel: A Crazy, Obsessive, Forceful Male Lead? The Female Lead Doesn’t Love a God—She Loves Him! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Seeing this, Wen Wu felt comfortable and said nothing.

Watching the girl nestle obediently in his arms, Qin Yu felt his heart melt completely.

“Wen Wu, which one do you want to eat?”

Wen Wu, already hungry, felt her stomach rumble when she saw all the delicious food.

She had trouble making decisions, and everything looked amazing.

So instead of choosing, she started eating from the plate farthest from her.

For this meal, she didn’t even need her hands—she just stayed nestled in his arms while the food was brought to her.

After finishing the last sip of milk, Wen Wu pushed away the crystal shrimp dumpling Qin Yu offered.

“Uh, I’m full. I don’t want any more.”

“You’re really lucky, Qin Yu. Your chef is amazing; everything tastes so good.”

Her casual compliment made Qin Yu pause slightly, holding the dumpling in his fingers.

He realized he couldn’t even bear hearing Wen Wu praise someone else.

He hated it when anyone else received her words.

Though breakfast looked abundant, most of it was just for show; the plates actually contained very little.

After Wen Wu finished, Qin Yu ate the rest himself.

Then he wanted to carry her upstairs, but Wen Wu stopped him.

“Qin Yu, you should take me home.”

Her words shattered the dream he had woven in his mind.

He thought that by “bringing Wen Wu over,” she would be his for life.

He hadn’t considered returning her—or whether her parents would worry.

“Qin Yu, gently… it hurts.”

Hearing this, the large hand around her waist instinctively tightened, as if trying to fuse her into his bones.

He didn’t want her to be far from him.

“Wen Wu, can you not go back?”

“I have so much money; I can take very good care of you.”

The usually decisive and ruthless CEO now looked like a child who might lose a cherished gift.

He didn’t know how to keep this treasure.

So he tried to voice his most innocent thoughts, hoping sympathy would let him keep her.

Seeing him anxious and insecure, the girl patiently and gently coaxed him.

Qin Yu carried her to the sofa in the living room.

Seeing her gaze him seriously, Qin Yu felt a little embarrassed and tried to look away.

But Wen Wu cupped his face with both hands, holding him there.

“Qin Yu, look at me, okay?”

“You like me, right?”

“Yes… I like you, Wen Wu. I really like you.”

“I want to be with you, and I hate that anyone else gets your attention.”

His deep black eyes met her clear, sparkling ones.

In Wen Wu’s eyes, Qin Yu saw his own reflection.

When Wen Wu asked about his feelings, he nodded eagerly.

“Wen Wu, don’t go.”

“I’ll give you all my assets. Don’t leave.”

Seeing Qin Yu’s vulnerability, Wen Wu straddled his lap, facing him, and spoke patiently.

“Qin Yu, I don’t want your assets. I trust you will protect me.”

“But I still have my parents. If they knew I disappeared from the hotel like this, they’d be very worried.”

“I know you want to be with me, but if my dad knew what you did, he’d be angry. Then he wouldn’t approve of us.”

Qin Yu wanted to say, “What does it matter? Why care about them? Just look at me!”

But he didn’t dare speak.

He knew if he did, Wen Wu would be angry.

“Then let’s exchange contacts. If you miss me, you can video call me, okay?”

Even though Qin Yu didn’t want to agree with this, having her nearby gave him enough security.

But the doctor had said Wen Wu shouldn’t get upset.

He didn’t want her to be unhappy.

So, reluctantly, he nodded.

After the friend request was accepted, Qin Yu secretly labeled Wen Wu as “Wife” on his phone.

Still unsatisfied, he wanted to take her phone and set himself as “Husband.”

Seeing through his thoughts, Wen Wu handed him her phone and feigned indecision.

“Qin Yu, what should I name you?”

“Why don’t you write it yourself?”

Seeing the decision in her hands, Qin Yu quickly took the phone, fingers trembling with excitement as he typed two characters:

“Husband.”

After clicking “Done,” he pinned it to the top of her contacts, wearing an expression begging for praise.

Wen Wu took the phone, smiled softly at his choice, and playfully pressed her lips against his in a brief, teasing kiss.

“Hub…band,” she said with an ambiguous, light laugh.

In the next moment, Qin Yu’s face turned as red as a cooked shrimp, heart pounding violently.

His throat tightened, and he was completely flustered.

His gaze was obsessively fixated.

“Wen… Wu…”

Even his voice trembled.

“Qin Yu, why are you so daft?”

The girl teased his handsome, almost perfect face and then lightly kissed him again.

Qin Yu stood there like a stunned, frozen man, dazed and foolish.

Only when her warm lips left his face did he come to his senses, then chased after her with a look of mock displeasure.

“Wen Wu, one more kiss!”

“Kiss!”

Wen Wu couldn’t and wouldn’t refuse Qin Yu.

After clinging together for a while, both were slightly out of breath.

At that moment, Wen Wu’s phone rang.

Seeing “Mom” on the display, she tried to calm her breathing but still revealed some signs of nervousness as she answered.

“Ma…Mom.”

“Wen Wu, what’s wrong? Why is your voice trembling?”

“Is your heart bothering you again?”

“It’s nothing. I just did a little yoga after getting up.”

“You know the doctor said no exercise! Why don’t you listen?”

“I’ll have the driver pick you up from the hotel.”

“No, Mom. I can take a taxi myself.”

“Taxi isn’t safe, you…”

“Mom, I’m downstairs. The car’s here. I’ll talk to you later.”

She hung up.

“Qin Yu, I really should go.”

Her soft, gentle voice said goodbye. Qin Yu suppressed the dark, obsessive thoughts in his heart and muttered a low response.

In the end, he reluctantly let Wen Wu leave his home.
