After capturing the Feebas, Tianlin was genuinely delighted.

At this moment, the Feebas was indeed ugly and weak, but if raised properly, it would one day shine with an incredibly dazzling brilliance.

Tianlin also used his system to check this Feebas’s data.Full novel: A Person in the Pokémon World: Starting with a Shiny Pokémon Egg — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Feebas, female, Fish Pokémon, Water-type, Ability: Swift Swim, gentle nature (+Special Defense, -Physical Attack), height 0.6m, weight 7.4kg, excellent quality, Elite Four-level potential, currently at Rookie-level strength.

It knows the moves Bounce, Tackle, and Dragon Breath.

It actually knows Dragon Breath—what a pleasant surprise.

That is a move Feebas can only learn through inheritance.

Truly excellent potential, very satisfying.

Misty stood nearby, speechless.

She couldn’t understand why Tianlin was so happy about such an ugly Pokémon.

Soon after, the two arrived at the entrance of the Pokémon Center.

Officer Jenny had likely already left.

As soon as they entered, they saw Ash standing in front of a large screen talking to someone.

It seemed they had arrived earlier than in the original story when Misty came alone—perhaps because Misty had gotten a bit lost on the way.

Tianlin knew Ash was speaking with Professor Oak, so he walked up and said to the screen, “Hello, Professor.”

“Oh, it’s Tianlin!

So you’ve arrived in Viridian City too—great!

By the way, Tianlin, how many Pokémon have you caught?

I’ll have you know Ash hasn’t caught a single one.

I had such high expectations for him, I feel like an idiot now,” Professor Oak said helplessly.

“As for me, I only have one Pokémon, but I also unexpectedly obtained a Pokémon Egg,” Tianlin explained.

He only mentioned it was by chance and did not reveal anything about the system.

“Oh?

That means you essentially have two Pokémon already.

Not bad for a beginner in just one day.

As for the egg, since it hasn’t hatched yet, we don’t know what it is.

So what Pokémon did you catch?” the Professor asked curiously.

“Here, I’ll show you,” Tianlin said as he released Feebas from its Poké Ball.

“Amazing!

Tianlin already caught a new partner!

I’m so jealous!” Ash said enviously.

Both Tianlin and Misty were surprised.

Misty thought, Birds of a feather really flock together… their sense of aesthetics is terrible.

What’s so good about that Feebas?

Tianlin, however, felt admiration.

With Ash’s limited knowledge, he couldn’t possibly understand Feebas’s true value, yet he still showed pure excitement without any disdain.

That love for Pokémon was truly admirable.

Tianlin couldn’t help but think that although Ash wasn’t good at training Pokémon yet, he would eventually achieve great results in many tournaments—precisely because of this bond and passion.

“Feebas!

As expected of Tianlin!

That’s a Hoenn-region Pokémon!

It’s extremely rare here and has great potential.

It’s very worth training!” Professor Oak said seriously.

Misty was shocked. This chapter was copied from g.com without permission.

This ugly Feebas will become powerful and beautiful?

It doesn’t look like it at all… but if Professor Oak says so, it must be true.

“Also, Tianlin, both your starter Pokémon and your first capture are from the Hoenn region.

You really seem to have a connection with it,” the Professor laughed.

“Professor!

Even though I didn’t catch another Pokémon, I actually saw Ho-Oh!” Ash suddenly said excitedly.

Tianlin had already told Ash the name Ho-Oh, so he used it directly.

“Impossible!

Ho-Oh hasn’t appeared before humans in a long time!” Professor Oak said in disbelief.

“It’s true, Professor.

Ash and I both saw it today, after the storm.

It flew toward the rainbow’s end,” Tianlin added.

“If that’s true… then you two have had an incredible encounter!” The Professor trusted Tianlin and was deeply surprised.

It seemed Ho-Oh had acknowledged both of them.

“What?!

You believe Tianlin but not me?

That’s so unfair!” Ash protested.

“Alright, alright, sorry Ash.

Oh no, my instant noodles are getting soggy!

I’ll hang up now.

Keep working hard, Tianlin and Ash!” With that, the call ended.

“Oh right, Ash, how is Pikachu doing?” Tianlin asked.

“It’s much better now.

I really need to thank you properly.

When we arrived at the medical center, Nurse Joy said that if someone hadn’t done emergency treatment, Pikachu might have died.

It has already received initial treatment and just needs rest to recover,” Ash replied gratefully.

“Hmph!

Since Pikachu is fine now, we should settle the bicycle issue, right?” Misty said, pointing at her burned, half-destroyed bicycle.

“You’re the girl from the river today!

How do you know my name?” Ash asked.

“I told her.

And this is your fault—you deal with it yourself,” Tianlin said calmly.

Ash could only apologize repeatedly and promise compensation before Misty finally calmed down.

At that moment, the glass ceiling suddenly shattered.

A trio dropped down—two humans and a talking Meowth.

Team Rocket had arrived.

“Who are you?!” Ash shouted.

“Since you sincerely asked, we shall graciously answer you!” the trio began their classic motto.

Tianlin, however, paid more attention to Meowth and activated his system.

Meowth, male, Scratch Cat Pokémon, Normal-type, Ability: Pickup, height 0.4m, weight 4.2kg, extraordinary quality, potential exhausted.

Moves: Fury Swipes.

It can walk upright, speak human language, and invent gadgets, but has no combat potential left.

A Pokémon whose talents went in the wrong direction… Tianlin thought.

The system description was surprisingly accurate.

Nurse Joy arrived shortly after, alarmed by the noise.

“So you are the notorious Pokémon thieves!” she said nervously.

“Correct!

Our goal is to obtain rare Pokémon!” James replied.

“Are you trying to steal my Pikachu?” Ash shouted angrily.

“A common Pikachu?

Who would want that?

We’re after rare and powerful Pokémon,” Jessie scoffed.

“There are many injured Pokémon here.

Let’s capture them all and choose later,” she added maliciously.

Jessie sent out Ekans, and James released Koffing, filling the room with poisonous gas.

“Tianlin calmly gave orders: ‘There’s poison gas everywhere.

Nurse Joy, use the transfer system to send all Pokémon to other centers.

Misty and I will hold them off here with Ash.'”

Nurse Joy nodded and hurried inside.

“Go, Treecko!” Tianlin sent out his Pokémon.

Treecko faced two opponents without fear.

Ekans used Wrap, while Koffing used Smokescreen to obscure vision.

Ekans successfully restrained Treecko.

“It’s not that simple—I let it get caught on purpose.

Treecko, use Leer!” The terrifying glare startled Ekans, loosening its grip.

Treecko escaped and struck Ekans with a strong Pound, sending it flying.

“Koffing, use Tackle!” James ordered.

Treecko leapt using its tail to bounce off the ground, dodging the attack and countering with a powerful descending Pound, heavily damaging Koffing.

Although Treecko held its ground against two opponents, its stamina was being drained over time.

Just then, Ash’s Pikachu ran out, nodding firmly.

“We can’t be dead weight—we need to fight alongside Tianlin!” Pikachu cried.

The other Pikachu in the center gathered and shared their electricity with Ash’s Pikachu.

Ash then used Misty’s bicycle to help generate even more power.

The familiar scene from history unfolded.

Tianlin immediately ordered Treecko to retreat.

Pikachu unleashed a fully powered Thunderbolt.

Ekans, Koffing, and Team Rocket were all struck head-on.

Koffing’s gas ignited, causing a massive explosion.

The trio was blasted off once again—just like always.

But the Pokémon Center itself was heavily damaged.

“What terrifying power…” Tianlin murmured.
