Chapter 12: The Ushering Of A New Age!

A Writer's Transmigration With A System

He realized that the creature was probably a creature of the calamity!

A creature that comes and is created by the heavens for exactly one reason and one reason only: to usher in a new age, a new age of calamity.

One of them appearing in the space meant that there were probably hundreds or thousands or even more of them.

Their numbers were much more dangerous than he had thought and would ever think.

This was not pleasant.

Getting shot in the face and in the body with hundreds of different bolts of lightning was not pleasant at all.

He did not like it.

He finally decided that he would see exactly how to kill this existence or at least run away.

He moved closer to it, and with the sword of Asura, he did not even hesitate.

Once he struck down the neck of the monster, he cut it quickly and mercilessly.

This death was a must.

For one to actually survive, there had to cause hundreds of deaths, and he knew this.

He would not dilly dally anymore.

He would just go to the city as quickly as possible and as fast as possible, without even thinking about doing anything other than that.

Death was at the door, and he did not like the thought of actually fighting and getting immobilized to this point by a couple of hundred lightning bolts.

He finally used the void step.

He thought, ’That means that slowly the calamity is ushering a new age. The calamity is near and the world shall know it. And not me alone. The world in its entirety is not something that will escape this calamity. This is the end.’

This was going to be something of great value and of great information.

If anyone of actual knowledge knew this, then the entirety of the world would crumble and actually tremble in tears and in fear.

The calamity was not something to brag about or something to actually think was good.

He knew this, but having information about the calamity was a point that would get him many, many resources, even too much if he sold the information for a quick buck.

Li Jiwen would not let a chance go this easily.

He escaped right away, understanding that if he stayed in this place anymore, he would face death.

And something that frightened him more was that he could feel hundreds of them across the world.

He could recognize them by their own auras, and this feeling and this actual knowledge that they had already existed all over the world was something that frightened him greatly.

He understood that death was something very fearful to him and to every single person in this world.

Death was not something to laugh at.

This was the end.

Death was something that was frightening him even greater than before and even more than any time before.

He now understood that the calamity would come.

Yes, it was coming.

It was undeniably coming, and that was fearful for him.

He thought, ’That means that the calamity is here. It started, and its ushering is now on the way.’

’That only means one thing. Time is of the essence, and if I do not truly use the time left correctly, then that would be a waste...’

’I do not want that to happen. I know that I can regain my life and actually come back to life again, but I do not want to die. I do not want to face death even once. I fear death. Death is truly something to fear and to greatly understand as the end of all for most.’

’But I have the chance to come back. I have the chance to fight. I have the chance to actually survive somehow, but others will die, and my own pain and suffering and the actual life that I had already acquired and lived through all this time would be gone.’

’It would be meaningless. It would mean that all I have done was of no meaning at all. I do not like the thought of it. It means that there is nothing of meaning anymore, and that meaning had already left us long, long ago.’

Li Jiwen already understood that without the thought of survival, and as well the thought of surviving this calamity overall, if he truly did not know how to fight or did not know how to continue fighting and surviving till the last moment, he knew that he would have killed himself.

But that was not something that he wanted to do.

He wanted to persevere.

He wanted to live, and he wanted to feel the power of a greater, powerful cultivator, much more powerful than him at the moment, and much more powerful than he would have ever thought of before.

The true power, the true immortality, the true transcendence that he wanted was not something that he could achieve easily.

Finally, he appeared inside the city walls in a very faraway place.

He looked around.

This was a normal and very much unused part of the city, and it was a faraway corner that mostly consisted of people that could not even live in houses or places within the city.

He did not care too much, and he just used a spell and hid himself.

He thought to himself, ’If the calamity truly is near, then everything shall go downhill. I do not know.’
