It was a winter day when thick, fluffy snow fell in heavy clusters, unusual for the first snowfall.
Dressed impeccably in a perfectly fitted three piece suit, Doh Yihyun glanced at his wristwatch. Beneath his jet black hair, neatly combed back without a single stray strand, his straight forehead, high nose bridge, and well shaped lips formed a sharp, clean line.
Friday, 7 PM.
At this hour, he would normally still be working overtime in the office.
A faint crack appeared in Doh Yihyun’s otherwise expressionless face, as pale and still as a white plaster statue. He disliked, from the bottom of his heart, having to waste time inefficiently in a place that made no sense.
Doh Yihyun was a workaholic who loved overtime and extra hours. In an entire year, the number of times he left work on time could be counted on one hand.
And today, for the first time in a long while, Doh Yihyun left the company at the same hour as everyone else. It was such a rare sight that people around the office stopped him one after another, unable to hide their curiosity.
"Where are you going at this hour?"
"I’m leaving work."
"What? Now? Are you sick?"
"No."
"Are you seriously leaving work right now?"
"Yes."
"Is something wrong? Are you unwell? Or do you have something at home?"
"No."
No matter who it was, Doh Yihyun cut off their unnecessary concern with a single word. Even so, being stopped repeatedly nearly made him late for his appointment.
He was not particularly ill, but their concern was not entirely misplaced either.
His destination was the hospital.
For the past three or four days, he had begun to sense other people’s pheromones more strongly than usual. It seemed that his irregular heat, which came perhaps only two or three times a year, was approaching.
Doh Yihyun intended to quickly get a strong suppressant prescribed and return to the office.
"Hmm."
But the doctor, whose hair was streaked with gray, kept glancing back and forth between the blood test results and Doh Yihyun’s impassive face, deliberately dragging things out.
"Is there a problem?"
Doh Yihyun asked in a low voice, his brow narrowing. His tone was as blunt as his cold features.
The sharp scent of disinfectant was particularly irritating today. The delay only made it worse.
"There is. A very big problem."
The doctor replied stiffly, his expression clearly displeased, like a grandfather scolding a stubborn grandchild.
"Doctor."
Doh Yihyun called him out, as if reproaching his roundabout way of speaking.
Under the weight of Doh Yihyun’s pitch black gaze, the doctor pressed his dry lips together. Then he looked him up and down.
Doh Yihyun had been his patient for over ten years.
Over 180 centimeters tall, with broad shoulders. A face that could not be called pretty, but was undeniably handsome. A low, cool voice and a perpetually stiff expression.
There was nothing about Doh Yihyun that looked like an Omega. If anything, he was often mistaken for an Alpha. He had only manifested late, in the winter when he was nineteen, around the time of high school graduation.
Because he manifested so late, his pheromones were abnormally weak, and his heat rarely came. The only visible Omega trait he had was his pale skin, bleached by the side effects of suppressants.
Perhaps because of that, even after manifesting as an Omega, Doh Yihyun had lived a life almost indistinguishable from a Beta.
Which made this all the more problematic.
The doctor’s expression darkened noticeably.
"Please tell me."
Only after being urged again did the doctor reluctantly open his mouth.
"It’s pregnancy."
"...What?"
An entirely unexpected word fell from the doctor’s lips. Doh Yihyun asked back, his voice flat.
"I’m not in the mood for jokes."
"You think I am? The results say so. We even did a blood test, so it’s certain."
Though Doh Yihyun drew a firm line, the doctor only grew more irritated, pointing at the screen.
"Let’s see. With these numbers, it’s about four weeks. You said other people’s pheromones feel unpleasant? Normally you wouldn’t feel anything at this stage, but it’s likely your constitution became more sensitive because of the pregnancy."
Without stopping, the doctor pushed up his round glasses and began reading out rows of incomprehensible numbers from the results sheet.
"Wait a moment, Doctor. Are those really my test results?"
Doh Yihyun, who rarely showed strong emotion, distorted his sharp features as he objected.
Pregnancy. Unless the data had been swapped with someone else’s, it was impossible.
"Are you calling me a quack? Doh Yihyun, thirty years old, Omega. These are your results."
Offended by the repeated doubt, the doctor turned the monitor fully toward him, glaring.
Doh Yihyun confirmed his name clearly printed at the top of the screen and frowned deeply.
When an Omega’s heat approached, they became sensitive to Alpha pheromones. Even Doh Yihyun, who was extremely dull to others’ pheromones, could vaguely distinguish who was an Alpha when his heat neared.
But about a week ago, not only Alpha pheromones, but even Omega pheromones had begun to feel unpleasant. Showing a rejection toward pheromones of the same type was unusual.
Another Omega would have rushed to the hospital immediately, but Doh Yihyun had dismissed it as part of his heat.
From start to finish, he had never been a typical Omega. For him, abnormal was normal.
'I’m pregnant?'
Despite the doctor’s firm declaration, he could not accept it at all.
"I’ve never......"
If he had never done it, how could he be pregnant?
Not that he couldn’t, but that he hadn’t. Either way, Doh Yihyun had never even been in a relationship.
He was about to argue with the doctor when a memory suddenly flashed through his mind, and he quickly shut his mouth.
'...Could it be that time?'
His pitch black eyes trembled faintly.
About a month ago, drunk out of his mind, Doh Yihyun had spent a weekend with a stranger for the first time in his life.
"You’re drinking too much. Did you get your heart broken or something?"
The man he met at the bar approached him as if they had known each other for a long time.
Doh Yihyun said nothing, only raised his glass again. The man, unfazed, smoothly took the glass from him and drank from it himself.
"What are you doing?"
"It doesn’t even taste good, just strong. Wait a second."
Perhaps because he drank too much alcohol he normally avoided, his memories were hazy, like fog. From the moment he lifted his head to look at the man, they became fragmented.
A glass glowing golden.
A man smiling softly as he whispered into his ear.
A devouring kiss in the back seat of a car.
Numbers climbing rapidly on the elevator display.
And before he knew it, Doh Yihyun was face down on a bed, being shaken mercilessly.
Thud, thud.
Something hot and hard invaded between his thighs without mercy.
Unable to endure the tingling pleasure, Doh Yihyun clenched his teeth and buried his face in the pillow.
"Ugh, ah, ngh...!"
Even as he bit down hard enough to make the veins in his neck stand out, unfamiliar sounds spilled out uncontrollably. His thighs, spread wide, trembled intermittently.
"Hah... why are you so tight? Relax a little. I can’t even get halfway in."
The man traced along the deep line of Doh Yihyun’s spine with his fingertips, whispering lazily. Despite the faint reproach in his voice, he skillfully coaxed and soothed him, persistently pushing deeper.
Soon, the man gripped Doh Yihyun’s hips tightly and thrust all the way in.
"Ah—!"
Overwhelmed by an intense pleasure he had never felt before, Doh Yihyun came helplessly. He could feel his inner walls trembling around the man’s hard length.
"Already? That’s cute."
The man wrapped his hand around Doh Yihyun’s erection and playfully rubbed the tip with his thumb.
"Don’t—ah!"
The stimulation against his overly sensitive flesh sent a sensation almost like pain through him.
Though Doh Yihyun shook his head and gripped the sheets, the man only laughed lightly, teasing him further.
"Ah—!"
