Chapter 16: The Secret Realm Opens—Jiang Yun Breaks In

After Achieving Invincibility, I Set Out to Destroy Sects

The worries of Jiang Yun came true as, just a day later, another group of brightly dressed people arrived, their footsteps heavy with entitlement as they tried to claim his sect’s territory until the secret realm opened.

This group was even more audacious than the last, their voices echoing with a sharp, arrogant tone: "From now on, this will be our territory, and you will be an affiliate sect of the High Seas Sect. You, a mere sect from the Eastern Region, should be honored to be affiliated with us, as normally you wouldn’t even be able to meet our high and mighty sect, much less become affiliated."

Jiang Yun was annoyed that another sect had come to cause trouble. This discontent was etched onto his face, especially as the faces of these people looked insufferably smug, acting as if the demand to become an affiliate was an honorable gift and it was only natural for him to agree.

Upon seeing Jiang Yun’s face remaining stubborn and unwilling, the leader of the High Seas Sect’s mood suddenly curdled, becoming significantly more serious and cold. In a threatening tone, he ordered Jiang Yun, "If you don’t agree right now, then you won’t be able to in the future, and we will forcibly take your land. This is your last chance, or we will retaliate. The secret realm is very important to us, and we will not allow any unforeseen circumstances to prevent us from entering."

Jiang Yun, not being able to contain his cold disgust anymore, finally took action. "I will repeat the same words to you: you won’t have a chance to survive today."

Hearing Jiang Yun’s arrogant tone, which dripped with defiance, the leader of the High Seas Sect couldn’t contain his anger anymore, either. But before he could make his own move, a suffocating pressure suddenly slammed down on him and the rest of his sect. The pressure was so immense, so heavy with killing intent, that they immediately started bleeding from their orifices.

The leader of the High Seas Sect immediately realized they had kicked a hornet’s nest and were in a deadly, dangerous situation. Struggling to lift his head against the crushing weight, he could only choke out the words, "Spare me."

As the words left his mouth, the leader of the High Seas Sect was directly pressed into a bloody, ruinous mess on the ground, as was the rest of his sect.

Seeing this mess, Jiang Yun thought, This is so filthy; maybe I shouldn’t squish them on my sect grounds from now on. It would just take extra effort to clean.

Jiang Yun then summoned a fireball the size of his fist and flicked it towards the blood. It immediately swelled into a roaring inferno. This surge of heat evaporated the blood and turned the remains into fine, grey ashes that blew away in the wind. Jiang Yun was then satisfied by the newly cleaned ground and went back to laze around.

The time Jiang Yun was allowed to laze around was short, though, as several more sects came to his sect to demand territory. Each time, Jiang Yun got more frustrated, as they were like relentless mosquitoes, endlessly buzzing in to take what didn't belong to them.

As the time for the secret realm’s opening was closing in, the number of sects that came to Jiang Yun’s sect increased even more. The amount of people from these sects that Jiang Yun had killed in these few days could be numbered in the thousands.

Jiang Yun was incredibly annoyed by these people just never stopping. Just how many sects are going to come for the secret realm? Why does it never end?

Due to this annoyance, Jiang Yun decided to go to the secret realm himself when it opened and rob everything in the secret realm. He would leave nothing for these people to gain, as his annoyance was through the roof from these leeches.

Jiang Yun couldn’t leave currently, as who knows when more of these flies would come while he was away to try to take his territory. So, Jiang Yun decided to wait for the secret realm to open, as by that time all those who are going to come will have already made it, and no more should come to try to take his territory.

As the days passed and Jiang Yun was busy with killing all intruders, the secret realm finally opened. A dazzling light shone for miles on end, painting the sky in colors of pure power, and everyone could tell that it was soon time for the secret realm to open.

Jiang Yun, finally seeing his opportunity to go into the secret realm, arrived and disappeared from the Invincible Cloud Sect. Reappearing above the area that the light was coming from, Jiang Yun was amazed by how many people were surrounding the entrance.

People as far as the eye could see were everywhere, a sea of greedy souls. From high up where Jiang Yun was floating, everyone below looked like a frantic swarm of ants preparing to get food.

As the dazzling light was fading, a portal that was still bright appeared; it was large enough to have several groups of people go in at once. This prompted the sects to rush in as large amounts of people were pushing their way through the entrance.

Even if it is a few seconds early, that time could be used to get more treasures. This secret realm had a time limit of three days. This time seemed short, but it was enough time for most people to gain enough treasure for several members of their sects to break through to the Mahayana realm and even more to break through to Tribulation Transformation. Those who did so would be hailed as a hero by their respective sects and be treated much better in the future.

Jiang Yun, seeing this scene, decided it was time for him to go in, too. Arriving at the entrance, Jiang Yun swiftly flew in but suddenly felt a slight, tacky resistance that tried to keep him out. This was the realm restriction rule applied by the secret realm.

Jiang Yun, a Dao Unification realm expert, didn’t feel much from it and, ignoring the resistance, pushed straight through the force like a hot blade through butter and entered into the secret realm.

In the next moment, Jiang Yun found himself in the secret realm. Looking around, it was a forest lush with vibrant green trees and plants. Treasure herbs were also everywhere, as just looking at the ground revealed a glittering array of low-level herbs.

Jiang Yun, not bothering with the scenery, immediately prepared his ring to loot everything. Jiang Yun’s ring was enormous, as he was a Dao Unification realm powerhouse and had treasures to go with it. His storage ring is so big that even fitting a planet the size of Earth would only take up a small amount of space.

Jiang Yun then started his plan and ripped everything from the ground indiscriminately, putting everything into his ring. Soon after, the entire forest that was lush green and endless as far as the eye could see was suddenly stripped into nothing but barren soil, not showing any signs of life.

Jiang Yun then decided to move onto the next area. As he was leaving, floating high above the sky, Jiang Yun saw others finally being transported into the secret realm in random places in the once-vibrant forest. It seemed ripping through the rules caused Jiang Yun to come in first.

The people from the sects that had just teleported in were immediately confused: "Why is there nothing here? The secret realm should contain endless amounts of treasure; how could there be barren soil for as far as the eye can see?"

Jiang Yun, hearing their reactions, was very amused. His trip into the secret realm then started to become fulfilling, as messing with weak cultivators was quite fun. Though all these resources were useless to Jiang Yun, these could still be used by members of his sect. The most important reason, though, was that he could annoy these sects that were running rampant in the Eastern Region.

Seeing what he wanted, Jiang Yun then flew around looking for other areas with treasures. It didn’t take long, as the secret realm was filled with treasures.

Jiang Yun took everything he could find, stuffing large swaths of vibrant land straight into his ring. Even when there were people picking herbs to store in their rings, Jiang Yun took those too, directly from their hands, and then swiftly pushed them to somewhere barren. This happened instantaneously, so these people couldn’t even comprehend what happened before suddenly realizing that their environment had changed and that they were surrounded by nothing.

Jiang Yun repeated this for the next while, and then, with Jiang Yun’s speed, half an hour had passed and Jiang Yun had collected the entire secret realm into his ring. This left everywhere in the secret realm completely barren. Nothing but dry soil could be seen everywhere. Jiang Yun let nothing go; if it was even remotely valuable, he immediately took it.

Jiang Yun didn’t even let the monsters in the secret realm go either, killing them and putting their bodies into his storage ring. Now, there was literally nothing left in the secret realm.

This left everyone in the secret realm immediately alarmed. Some had been in places with treasures when transporting in, and yet the next thing they knew, they reappeared in a barren wasteland. Everyone couldn’t understand what was happening.

Jiang Yun, floating in the sky, finishing his goal for coming in, looked upon these people with joy on his face as he laughed at these unfortunate souls that suffered his wrath.

After enjoying his fill of the reaction, Jiang Yun was then bored and decided to leave. Tearing through the secret realm borders, Jiang Yun created a hole enough to fit a person and stepped in. This hole crackled with lightning from the void as dangerous energies tried to seep into the world, but as Jiang Yun was completely in the hole, it was swiftly closed, leaving the sky as it was before, as if nothing had happened.

Jiang Yun felt resistance again from the secret realm but shrugged it off as if it were nothing. He then arrived outside the secret realm to see the group of elders that were still waiting for their disciples to come out.

Jiang Yun was fast as he was leaving, resulting in nobody even noticing he had come out of the secret realm and left.

Jiang Yun wondered what reactions these elders would have after discovering they made a wasted trip to the Eastern Region and returned with nothing.

Jiang Yun then teleported back home to enjoy the feeling of being lazy around at home again. He was waiting to hear what would happen in three days as the secret realm closed and the people inside came out.

This was an exciting event, as the drama would be quite enjoyable to watch.

As Jiang Yun returned home, he rested in his usual chair, laying down on the back of the chair as he waited for the fateful day that he was the root cause of.
