Song Qianqian let out a soft laugh. “That scene just now is done. Get ready for the next one. Don’t change the lines or the plot on your own. You’re wasting everyone’s time.”

Her tone was as sharp as ever, and the crew had long grown used to it.

But Shen Wanwan sensed something strange hidden in those words.Full novel: After Becoming a Professional Simp and Flirting with a Yandere, I Ended Up Suffering Miserably — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Was Song Qianqian targeting her?

How had she offended her?

Or was it because of Su Junmo?

Could this senior be one of Su Junmo’s admirers?

It did not seem likely.

With Song Qianqian’s status, how dare she speak to her like that?

Shen Wanwan lifted her chin and said provocatively, “Really? I had just gotten into the scene, and you interrupted me. I don’t think your directing skills are that impressive either. Why not let the main director handle it?”

The smell of gunpowder between them nearly shot into the sky.

Su Junmo stood to the side, cold sweat forming on his back. He glanced at one, then the other, just as Shen Wanwan reached out again as if to pull him.

He hurriedly stepped in and said, “It’s my fault. I wasn’t in the right state just now, and Vice Director Song noticed immediately. It seems I really am still a newcomer and need to learn more.”

Su Junmo narrowed his eyes with a smile and gave Song Qianqian a reassuring look.

Then he turned toward Shen Wanwan, admiration written across his face. “Wanwan-jie is just as amazing as the rumors say. You completely brought me into the scene. It’s just that I didn’t perform well afterward. Wanwan-jie, you’ll have to teach me properly next time.”

Shen Wanwan nodded in satisfaction and let out a soft hum.

Su Junmo really did need her.

He truly depended on her.

He could not leave her at all.

She raised her chin proudly, deciding not to lower herself to argue with Song Qianqian.

Just a small director.

Su Junmo had successfully stopped a war that was about to erupt.

Shen Wanwan went to the side to rest.

Song Qianqian returned to the monitor with a calm expression and began reviewing the footage that had just been filmed.

The entire crew quietly let out a breath of relief.

They had truly thought a major clash was about to break out.

Shen Wanwan was not only a household-name actress, but her family background was also unfathomable. In the entertainment industry, no one dared to offend this young lady.

Song Qianqian was the same. Famous at a young age, never short of money, dressed head to toe in luxury brands. Her background was probably extraordinary as well.

If these two went head-to-head, the crew would never have peace again.

That small-time actor Su Junmo was really capable.

No one knew what he had said, yet he had managed to return both of them to their normal working positions.

Truly a role model for their generation.

No wonder he could be a well-connected insider. New chapters come out on g.com first.

If they had that kind of skill, they would have become insiders long ago too.

Envious glances were cast his way.

But Su Junmo only felt immense pressure under those looks.

He just wanted to be an unnoticed nobody, all right?

Fortunately, Song Qianqian was now filming another scene and was not paying attention to this side.

Su Junmo very consciously walked over to Shen Wanwan and found a chair to sit beside her.

“This is watermelon juice, no ice. It’ll quench your thirst.”

He silently handed her a cup of watermelon juice.

Shen Wanwan shot him a sideways glance and snorted. “I like mine with extra ice and ice cubes.”

“Wanwan, your period is coming in a couple of days. You can have light ice, but no ice cubes,” Su Junmo said with a helpless smile. He handed her a straw. “Use the straw so it won’t smudge your lipstick.”

A hint of sweetness appeared on Shen Wanwan’s face.

Su Junmo was always this considerate.

He always met her needs at just the right moment.

He was even more attentive than her personal assistant.

She recalled countless little details from the past.

The more she thought about it, the more she felt that Su Junmo’s love was humble yet deep.

She enjoyed it.

“Li Suran is coming to visit the set later. She doesn’t like you very much. Don’t argue with her,” Shen Wanwan suddenly remembered, rubbing her forehead with a slight headache.

For some reason, her best friend had never approved of Su Junmo. She always felt he had ulterior motives.

Because of this, they had argued more times than she could count.

Every time, it left her half amused and half exasperated.

But recently it should be better.

It seemed someone had appeared by Li Suran’s side to keep her company.

With someone else to focus on, she probably would not be so hostile toward Su Junmo anymore.

Su Junmo froze for a moment. “Li Suran is coming too?”

What the hell…

Two were already more than enough. If another one came, the set might explode.

He was not sure, but that was what he felt.

His fingers unconsciously scratched at his nails, a sign of nervousness.

Shen Wanwan misunderstood and thought he was frightened. She gently patted his head in comfort. “Suran won’t eat you. Whatever she says, just ignore her.”

She thought about it. Su Junmo did look rather wronged every time.

He could not even argue back when Li Suran spoke harshly.

Such a pitiful little guy.

“Here, this is my black card. After filming, I’ll take you shopping at the mall. Buy whatever you want. Use my card.”

Shen Wanwan leaned close to his ear and slipped a black card into his palm. “No limit.”

It was compensation, and also trust.

After two or three years together, she knew Su Junmo was not greedy.

Every time she let him swipe her card, he would only spend 300,000 to 500,000 yuan at most.

In this day and age, there were not many people so restrained.

Some of the minor celebrities around her were kept by wealthy patrons. If they ever received a black card, they would wish to max it out immediately.

Su Junmo, however, was much more controlled.

Shen Wanwan interpreted that restraint as him caring about her and having feelings for her.

If he were only here for money, why would he spend so conservatively?

Su Junmo lightly closed his fingers around the black card and tilted his head. “Wanwan, don’t worry. I know Li Suran just speaks harshly. I’ve never taken her seriously. Besides, she’s your friend. I’ve never held it against her.”

Shen Wanwan felt touched, her gaze growing even gentler. “Su Junmo, why are you so good?”

Because it’s all an act.

Su Junmo smiled, holding her hand with the one not clutching the black card. “Because you deserve it.”

He narrowed his eyes slightly, in a very good mood.

At that moment, a Rolls-Royce Phantom slowly drove into the set and stopped not far away. It deliberately pulled into the shade, appearing extremely low-key.

Quite a few people glanced over, though most only looked briefly. It was probably some wealthy big shot visiting the set.

They just did not know which actor the visitor had come to see.

The crew members silently speculated.

Su Junmo glanced once and then withdrew his gaze.

Whoever was inside that car must be extremely wealthy.

And not just ordinarily wealthy.

Most people who drove such luxury cars would flaunt them right in front of others.

But someone this low-key probably had more than one at home.

Nothing worth showing off.

The car door slowly opened, and a woman in a white coat stepped out.

She carried a gentle and composed aura. A pair of gold-rimmed glasses rested on her nose, and through the reflective lenses, one could see a beautiful tear mole beneath her eye.

It added a trace of charm to her elegance.

After she got out of the car, several people gathered around her.

She looked toward the set from a distance.

Her eyes met Su Junmo’s.

Instinctively, he gave her a smile.

The woman let out a soft scoff and turned away, walking off surrounded by the others.
