At 3:00 PM on Monday, the quarterly financial report meeting of Huachen Group was only halfway through. Fu Sinian sat at the head of the table, listening to the CFO’s presentation. In his hand, a pen moved unconsciously across his notebook, leaving behind chaotic, overlapping lines. Ever since he left Moon Lake Bay Villa that morning, an inexplicable unease had lingered in his chest.

Gu Jingchen had already been staying in their home for two days. During these two days, that man had been like a stone thrown into still water, stirring wave after wave between him and Su Wanning. The seemingly careless yet deliberate provocations, Su Wanning’s blatant favoritism, and the glaring high school photo in the guest room—all of it chipped away at the last limits of Fu Sinian’s patience.

“Mr. Fu?” The CFO’s voice pulled him back. “Do you have any comments on this part of the data?”Full novel: After Divorcing on the Spot, His Ex-Wife Was Dragged into the Abyss by Her First Love — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Fu Sinian set down his pen and rubbed his temples. “Sorry, I’m not feeling well. Let’s end today’s meeting here. We’ll continue the rest tomorrow.”

Under the astonished gazes of the executives, he stood up first and left the meeting room. Leaving midway like this had never happened in his entire career, but at this moment, he could no longer care. That home—the one he had built with his own hands as a sanctuary of love—was now being occupied by a man with ulterior motives. And his wife seemed to be enjoying this dangerous game.

By the time the driver stopped the car at Moon Lake Bay Villa, it was only 3:40 PM. Fu Sinian pushed the door open. At the entrance, there was an extra pair of unfamiliar men’s leather shoes, casually tossed aside, forming a sharp contrast with his own neatly arranged pairs.

He removed his suit jacket and was about to head toward the study, but the scene in the living room froze him in place.

Gu Jingchen was lounging leisurely on the leather sofa, legs crossed, holding the TV remote—completely at ease, like the master of the house. What made Fu Sinian’s pupils contract was the fact that the man was wearing that same light blue custom shirt—the one that had been “mistakenly worn” before. Even more excessive, the bone china mug in his hand was Fu Sinian’s personal one.

As if noticing the movement at the door, Gu Jingchen turned his head, completely unflustered, even offering a perfectly measured smile. “Mr. Fu, you’re back quite early today.”

Fu Sinian’s gaze swept across the living room before settling on the shoe cabinet near the guest room door. That high school photo still stood there, the frame polished to a shine, as if openly provoking him.

At that moment, Su Wanning walked out of the kitchen carrying a plate of cut fruit. The instant she saw Fu Sinian, the smile on her face froze.

“Sinian… why are you back at this time?” Her voice carried obvious guilt.

Fu Sinian did not answer. His gaze was like a blade, cutting straight toward her. The fury in his chest finally broke through the last barrier of reason. The disappointment, anger, and sense of betrayal that had been building for days erupted like a volcano. This chapter was taken from g.com without permission.

“Su Wanning!” His voice trembled from restraint, each word squeezed out through clenched teeth. “Is this your ‘honest man’? Is this what you meant by ‘he won’t disturb us at all’?”

He strode to the center of the living room, pointing at the shirt on Gu Jingchen’s body, then at the mug in his hand. “Wearing my clothes, using my cup—does he think he’s the master here?!”

The air in the living room instantly turned rigid.

Gu Jingchen set the cup down and stood up, still wearing that nauseatingly innocent expression. “Mr. Fu, you’ve misunderstood…”

“Shut up!” Fu Sinian cut him off sharply, his gaze never leaving Su Wanning. “I’m asking my wife.”

Su Wanning’s face shifted between pale and flushed. She set the fruit plate down, her fingers twisting nervously at the hem of her clothes. “Sinian, listen to me… Jingchen just—”

“Just what?” Fu Sinian let out a cold laugh. “Just accidentally wore my clothes again? Just accidentally used my cup again? Su Wanning, do you think I’m that easy to fool?”

Gu Jingchen stepped forward, trying to intervene. “Mr. Fu, this is all my fault. Don’t blame Wanning…”

“Wanning?” Fu Sinian repeated the intimate address, his eyes sharp as knives. “Who gave you permission to call her that?”

Seeing this, Su Wanning immediately stepped in front of Gu Jingchen protectively. “Fu Sinian, that’s enough! Jingchen is my guest. Can you show some basic courtesy?”

“Guest?” Fu Sinian let out a bitter laugh, as if hearing the greatest joke in the world. “What kind of guest wears the host’s clothes, uses the host’s cup, and places a photo with another woman in someone else’s house?”

Su Wanning was left speechless. Tears welled up in her eyes. Gu Jingchen gently patted her shoulder, and that small gesture only fueled Fu Sinian’s anger further.

“Take your dirty hands off her,” Fu Sinian said, his voice cold enough to freeze the air. “Now, immediately, get out of my house.”

For the first time, Gu Jingchen’s expression changed slightly, but he quickly regained his composed, refined demeanor. “Mr. Fu, I understand your feelings. But I am, after all, a guest invited by Wanning. Even if I leave, it should be her decision.”

That sentence was like pouring oil onto flames.

Fu Sinian looked at Su Wanning and asked, word by word, “So, what is your choice?”

Su Wanning bit her lip, tears finally falling. She looked at Fu Sinian, then at Gu Jingchen, yet said nothing for a long time.

That silence was more devastating than any answer.

Looking at her hesitation, Fu Sinian suddenly felt that the woman before him was terrifyingly unfamiliar. The wife who once had only him in her heart now stood there, hesitating for another man—drawing a deep, irreparable line through their marriage.

The clock on the wall ticked steadily. Each second felt like a blade carving away at Fu Sinian’s last shred of hope.

He waited for Su Wanning’s answer… and for the final verdict on their marriage.
