Hearing those words, Jiang Yubai’s lips curved into a faint smile. “Yes. It’s not as Master thinks. It’s me—Jiang Yubai, chief disciple of the Longevity Sect, born a wicked seed. Not only did I harm my fellow disciples, but I remain utterly unrepentant.”

His tone was calm, yet within that calmness lingered an inexplicable weight.

Mu Xueqi grew anxious, “Senior Brother! As long as you admit your mistake, Master and all of us will forgive you! Why must you—”Full novel: After Leaving the Sect, I Became the Protagonist. Why Are You Crying? — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Before she could finish, Jiang Yubai interrupted indifferently, “Forgive me for what?”

Mu Xueqi froze. Right… forgive him for what? If Senior Brother truly admitted guilt, would they even forgive him? Their Junior Brother, so innocent and kind, was beaten until he was bedridden. Meanwhile, this Senior Brother stood here full of life and strength.

Seeing Mu Xueqi speechless, Jiang Yubai didn’t bother to respond.

At that moment, Liu Liyue could no longer contain herself. “Senior Brother! Why are you still so stubborn?!”

Jiang Yubai found her words amusing. He looked Liu Liyue up and down, saying lazily, “Stubborn? Hm… and what aspect are you referring to?”

For a moment, Liu Liyue felt that the once graceful and composed Senior Brother seemed like an entirely different person. “Senior Brother, we all know you were jealous of Junior Brother—”

“Me? Jealous of Xiao Yifei?” Jiang Yubai’s tone carried a hint of mockery.

Si Chenyu couldn’t hold back either. “Senior Brother, you’re jealous because Junior Brother has better talent and a superior spiritual root…”

Hearing that, Jiang Yubai was speechless. These few Junior Sisters of his—each one seemed more brainless than the other! Xiao Yifei? That fool? How could he even be compared to him?

“Si Chenyu, maybe you should have a medical cultivator check your brain. Actually, since Liu Liyue is here, you can let her check for you. Though honestly, I think everyone here’s brain isn’t working quite right…”

“Unfilial disciple! Do you even know what you’re saying?!”

As his Master’s fury erupted, Jiang Yubai remained unbothered. “Master, why be so angry? Yubai is still young, not blind nor deaf… You don’t have to raise your voice like that.”

“You insolent thing!”

Ye Yunshang shouted furiously and unleashed an attack toward him.

However, Jiang Yubai wasn’t about to give her the chance. At that critical instant, he sidestepped easily, vanishing from his original spot.

Ye Yunshang’s rage burned hotter. That unfilial disciple! He actually dared to dodge!

Just as she prepared to strike again, Lu Jinwei quickly spoke up, “Senior Brother, why must you anger Master like this? It’s only a matter of apologizing—”

“Only a matter?” Jiang Yubai’s expression turned cold. “Lu Jinwei, are you still hopping around like a grasshopper before me?”

He sneered faintly, his eyes darkening. “You like Junior Brother? That’s your business. But if you keep flaunting it before me and it becomes an eyesore… don’t blame me for not holding back.”

The chill in his eyes made Lu Jinwei’s heart tremble. Could it be that Senior Brother knew about her conversation with Junior Brother? Impossible… Even if he heard, did he have to sound so sinister about it? It was just a request for him to transfer half of his cultivation to Junior Brother. Besides, Senior Brother had always pampered them.

Jiang Yubai smiled faintly. “Lu Jinwei, did you really think you could treat your Senior Brother however you please?”

Lu Jinwei was stunned. Yes… that was exactly what she’d thought.

Ye Yunshang, seated on the high platform, finally lost her patience. “Jiang Yubai! How long will you continue this nonsense? Did your Fifth Junior Sister say anything wrong? As Senior Brother, what’s wrong with giving your Junior Brother some of your cultivation?”

“It’s not wrong—”

“Then why don’t you—”

“But Master, are you sure Junior Brother is actually injured?”

His words froze the room.

Mu Xueqi’s face turned pale with anger. “Senior Brother! You were once the only person I respected in the cultivation world. I never thought you would—”

Jiang Yubai couldn’t be bothered to listen to her hypocritical rant. “Leave,” he said coldly.

Her admiration made him want to vomit.

At that moment, Jiang Yubai had completely cast away all restraint. Ignoring their shocked expressions, he drew his sword and turned to leave.

Everyone was dumbfounded.

Liu Liyue shouted anxiously, “Senior Brother! What are you doing?!”

Jiang Yubai didn’t even turn back. “Didn’t you all accuse me of injuring Xiao Yifei? I’ll go kill him right now in front of you. That should make my guilt clear.”

His tone was icy, his eyes void of emotion.

The hall fell silent in disbelief. Even Ye Yunshang widened her eyes, her face filled with shock. “Unfilial disciple!”

The Junior Sisters all cried out, their voices echoing in panic. “Senior Brother?!”

Ye Yunshang immediately launched a powerful strike, but Jiang Yubai once again dodged effortlessly. His movement was swift and precise, leaving everyone in awe.

He turned back toward her with a mocking smile. “Master, is this the only technique you know?”

His words dripped with disdain, his gaze cold yet taunting, leaving Ye Yunshang both furious and humiliated.

The corner of his lips curled upward again, his eyes deep and unreadable. For a brief moment, all his Junior Sisters froze under that gaze.

They had to admit—Jiang Yubai, their Senior Brother, was as dazzling as moonlight. Even standing there silently, he was untouched by the mortal world.

But now, that once elegant figure felt utterly unfamiliar.

Their awe quickly turned into anger as they thought of their bedridden Junior Brother. Hatred replaced their shock—Jiang Yubai was too cruel, intending to kill his own Junior Brother.

Jiang Yubai, of course, noticed the changes in their eyes. Having been reborn, he knew exactly what kind of creature that “Junior Brother” was—an otherworldly foreign soul with a sinister cultivation technique that devoured others’ luck.

He sneered inwardly. Xiao Yifei… in this life, we’ll see who truly wins in the end.
