Sunday evening.
The senior year students’ evening self-study session began on time.
Shen Weiyue walked into the classroom with his hands in his pockets. The moment he stepped in, he saw killing intent blazing in Zhao Qingyan’s eyes.
He didn’t care. Calmly, he walked to his seat, sat down, and took out his biology review notes on key and difficult points.
Zhao Qingyan, however, wasn’t reading. A sheet of draft paper lay in front of her. She scribbled on it from time to time, but most of the time, she simply stared at him.
“Hey, why are you staring at me like that? It’s really impolite.”
A chill crept up Shen Weiyue’s neck, and he couldn’t help but speak first.
Zhao Qingyan didn’t reply. She only sneered, pressing her pen hard into the paper until the tip pierced through and left a small hole.
Her gaze was far too sharp. Shen Weiyue shifted slightly to the right, turning his left back toward her, until she disappeared completely from the corner of his vision.
“Heh.”
He wasn’t sure if he imagined it, but it sounded like Zhao Qingyan let out a cold laugh.
So beautiful, such a great figure… and yet her mind was clearly not right. What a waste.
As he grumbled inwardly, Zhao Qingyan suddenly spoke coldly, “Shen donkey, what exactly did you see on the pedestrian street that you shouldn’t have?”
Since Shen Weiyue already knew, she no longer bothered to hide it and openly used the nickname she had given him.
“Shen donkey?” Shen Weiyue felt displeased and replied gruffly, “I didn’t see anything.”
“Then why were your eyes so wide?”
“I was surprised. Is that not allowed?”
Shen Weiyue didn’t look at her. Their conversation carried on without their gazes ever meeting.
“Surprised about what?”
“Surprised that you’re not only amazing, but also so pretty… and your figure is that good!”
“Hehe.”
Zhao Qingyan let out a cold laugh and said nothing more. For over ten minutes, things remained peaceful, and Shen Weiyue thought the situation had stabilized.
Just then, homeroom teacher Han Changming strode in from outside with a textbook tucked under his arm. Zhao Qingyan immediately raised her right hand, “Teacher Han, Shen Weiyue is sitting improperly, not focusing during self-study, looking around, and after all this time he hasn’t memorized a single English word!”
Teacher Han took one look… and it was indeed true.
Shen Weiyue was sitting sideways with one leg crossed, looking completely slack. His English vocabulary book was still on the very first page.
“Shen Weiyue, stand up.”
“Wait, Teacher Han, I…”
“What ‘I’? Look at how you’re sitting. And you still think you’re right?” Get faster updates on novelping.com.
“My left side started hurting from sitting too long, so I changed posture. And I was studying seriously. Zhao Qingyan is making things up.”
“I believe Qingyan. Stand for this class and reflect on yourself.”
With both evidence and witness present, Han Changming had no interest in hearing explanations. Shen Weiyue cast a resentful glance at Zhao Qingyan, only to see a fleeting trace of triumph flash in her eyes.
“Zhao Fox, you’re deliberately framing me. You’re doing this on purpose!”
“Of course I am. Who told you to go to the pedestrian street this morning?”
“I was just passing by. It wasn’t intentional.”
“Passing by doesn’t matter. Passing by is still a crime.”
Zhao Qingyan felt delighted. Without warning, she broke into a smile… fleeting like a blooming flower that vanished in an instant, yet Shen Weiyue still caught it.
He froze for a moment and muttered, “Your mom can look, but I can’t?”
“Exactly. You can’t. You’re not my dad.”
“Actually, I could…” Shen Weiyue blurted out, then bit his tongue in a split second. That was close… he had almost caused a disaster.
If he had said he wanted to be Zhao Fox’s dad, the principal and Teacher Han would probably hang him up and beat him.
“Could what?” Zhao Qingyan stared at him sharply.
“I could pretend I didn’t see anything. Anyway, I won’t go around telling anyone. If I don’t say anything, no one else will know that the unsociable campus belle actually looks so good in tight jeans…”
“Shut up. Go die.”
Zhao Qingyan flushed with embarrassment and anger. Instinctively, she grabbed the flesh at Shen Weiyue’s waist and twisted it hard.
“Hiss—ahhh!”
Shen Weiyue cried out in pain, baring his teeth. The sudden outburst drew everyone’s attention, and the classroom fell silent.
“Shen! Wei! Yue!” Han Changming roared, “What are you yelling for?”
“Teacher Han, Zhao Qingyan pinched me,” Shen Weiyue quickly explained.
“Teacher Han, Shen Weiyue is holding a grudge because I reported him. He just insulted me,” Zhao Fox followed immediately.
“Oh, so you’ve grown rebellious? I asked Qingyan to supervise your studies, and not only are you ungrateful, you even complain? Go stand at the back for two periods!”
Han Changming was furious. Shen Weiyue opened his mouth to explain, but seeing the situation, there was no point. He simply went to stand facing the wall.
As he passed by Ye Lingtao, the guy grinned, “Feels good, right, Old Shen? You dared provoke Zhao Qingyan. You must be tired of living. Haha.”
“Shut up,” Shen Weiyue shot back.
After disciplining Shen Weiyue, Han Changming began the lesson, continuing with core topic revision.
At first, Zhao Qingyan sat comfortably on her own. But when Teacher Han called on Shen Weiyue to answer a question, she turned around and saw him standing at the back looking somewhat pitiful. A trace of unease stirred in her heart.
Was this… bullying?
Thinking carefully, what happened in the clothing store really wasn’t his fault. He had just seen it accidentally.
Forget it… after punishing him this time, she would let it go.
When he came back, she would explain a few more problems to him as compensation.
With her thoughts settled, Zhao Qingyan quietly waited for the “stupid donkey” to return after two periods.
After the break exercises, Shen donkey returned to his seat. Zhao Fox didn’t target him anymore, as if nothing had happened.
The next class was chemistry.
As usual, Shen Weiyue encountered something he didn’t understand… yet instead of going to Zhao Qingyan, he turned and went straight to the second-ranked top student, the adorable Ning Xi, for help.
Ning Xi tilted her head, looking at him suspiciously.
“Committee Member Ning, could you please explain this question to me? You’re kind and beautiful. You wouldn’t refuse me, right?”
The little girl’s face flushed. She lowered her head hurriedly, her voice as soft as a mosquito’s hum as she nodded. After steadying herself, she began explaining.
Ning Xi’s deskmate couldn’t help rolling their eyes. When did this Yue Buqun become so sweet-tongued? It was like his words were coated in honey.
As the explanation went on, Zhao Qingyan suddenly felt inexplicably displeased.
Shen donkey is my student… what right does he have to graze on someone else’s grass?
Unfortunately, although Ning Xi was always second place, she was still a genuine top student, consistently ranking within the top ten.
After her explanation, Shen Weiyue understood the chemistry problem in one go. He thanked her repeatedly, then turned back to work it out himself, not even glancing at Zhao Qingyan, leaving her no chance to show off as class monitor.
Zhao Qingyan frowned, suppressing her irritation, continuing to wait.
Unfortunately, although the following physics class was difficult, Shen Weiyue’s aptitude wasn’t bad. He didn’t encounter any problems he couldn’t understand even after asking the teacher.
The situation Zhao Qingyan had been waiting for never came.
The scene she imagined… the stupid donkey coming to her on his own, only to be crushed and taught by the fox’s intelligence… never happened, even after the morning classes ended.
Shen donkey happily called his friends and went off to eat.
Zhao Fox sat there with a cold expression, feeling even more displeased.
A fox exists to bully a stupid donkey… yet this donkey didn’t know his place.
How infuriating.
