He Li was lost in thought.
“What are you thinking about? You’re so spaced out…” Wei Huo asked, leaning in. “Come on, just say it. Why are you suddenly all up in my face again?”
Startled, He Li snapped back to reality. Wei Huo looked at him suspiciously.
“What could I be thinking? I’m just wondering how someone like you got so lucky to be favored by CEO Yu Qingge!” he said. “And out of nowhere, you ended up with a rich woman!”
“Be honest. Which temple did you pray at?”
He sounded dead serious and full of doubt. He Li just shrugged. “I don’t believe in gods. Why would I go to a temple? Enough already. Just spit it out. I’m still at the office, maybe I can help you out before I leave.”
“Huh?” Wei Huo blinked. “Wait, what do you mean? You’re not working later?”
“I’ve got something going on this afternoon. Don’t ask.”
No way was he going to mention he was going shopping with Yu Qingge. With Wei Huo’s big mouth, the whole company would know in no time. Who knew how twisted the story would get if it spread?
Wei Huo looked at He Li’s mysterious expression. He wanted to ask more, but He Li clearly didn’t want to talk. He gave up and instead brought up some issues with the level design.

The rest of the morning passed by in He Li’s semi-slacking state and occasional chatter with Wei Huo.
When it was finally time to get off work, He Li had planned to grab a free meal at the canteen before waiting for Yu Qingge’s call to go shopping.
But Yu Qingge’s enthusiasm was far beyond what he expected.
At exactly 11:30, just as he clocked out, her call came in.
“I’m in the parking lot downstairs. I’m waiting for you. Hurry up~”

He Li was speechless. “Seriously, lady, I haven’t even eaten yet. You want me to carry your bags on an empty stomach?”

“Alright, I’m on my way!” he replied, hung up the call, and hurried downstairs to the underground parking lot.
Just as he reached the entrance, a red custom Porsche pulled up beside him.
The window rolled down, revealing Yu Qingge’s stunning smile. “That hour without seeing you was unbearable. Now I’m going to take a good look at you! Hurry, hop in—sit in the front passenger seat!”
Trying to suppress his racing heart, He Li opened the door and climbed in.
The moment he closed the door, the familiar fragrance inside the car hit his nose. Yu Qingge immediately locked the doors and leaned over, getting close to his face.
“Let’s switch seats. You drive.”

Trying to stay calm, He Li asked. Yu Qingge blushed slightly, looking at him with a serious but shy expression.
“I did it on purpose. I just wanted an excuse to get close to you because I like you.”
“Are you mad?” she asked softly.

“But we’re not in a relationship. So, I hope you can hold back a little.”
“I don’t want you to regret anything after something happens.”
He Li shook his head as he spoke. Yu Qingge gave him a radiant smile.
“You really are a gentle and responsible man. Even in this situation, you’re still trying to calm me down instead of just acting recklessly. That’s why I feel that even if something really did happen between us, you wouldn’t abandon me, right?”
As she spoke, she snuggled even closer, almost lying entirely in He Li’s arms.
At that moment, He Li panicked.
