In the basement of an Illegal Medical Research Institute, An Sheng’s hoarse voice echoed.

Her gaze fell upon the unconscious, battered Bo Jinye in the corner.

Filled with agonizing and desperate love.

The slender woman approached An Sheng in crimson high heels, lightly lifting An Sheng’s haggard face with her fingertip before letting out a soft laugh. “Fine…”

“Then give me all your organs and blood.”

Without hesitation, An Sheng set down the case and lay on the operating table.

Syringes and scalpels moved across her body, piercing her skin with excruciating pain.

An Sheng turned her head to look at the man in the corner, her heart aching.

Yet as life faded, she gradually felt a sense of relief.

Ah, Bo Jinye, in the next life, I never want to meet you again.

…

When Bo Jinye awoke, he punched the man before him, only to be kicked to the ground.

“Bo Jinye, do you still think you’re that lofty President Bo? You’re nothing but a useless pawn manipulated by me and Ruyue!”

The mocking voice of his former friend Pei Hanqing rang in his ears, though Bo Jinye could barely hear it clearly.

His ears had been half-deafened during the earlier struggle.

The man’s handsome face was smeared with blood, his eyes fierce as demons from hell, fixed intently on the man and woman before him.

Bo Jinye spat out blood and chuckled softly. “Is that so…”

“This useless pawn has kept you on edge for over a decade. I wonder who’s truly useless—me or you.”

Enraged, Pei Hanqing stepped forward to kick him, but the tall man grabbed his leg and countered with a punch!

“Hanqing!” An Ruyue cried out, rushing to support Pei Hanqing.

Bo Jinye finally dared to look at An Ruyue, his expression trembling for a moment before hardening into cold ruthlessness.

An Ruyue—the white moonlight he had once secretly adored, cherished in his heart.

Yet she had conspired with his longtime friend, deceiving and using him!

“Bo Jinye, your arrogance won’t last much longer. Did you think I wouldn’t dare kill you? Wrong! You’ve long lost your value. I only kept you alive this long so you’d die with clarity!”

Pei Hanqing laughed heartily, dragging a corpse and throwing it before Bo Jinye.

When Bo Jinye recognized the face, his blood ran cold.

It was An Sheng…

The wife he had once despised most, hated for using every trick to marry him.

The wife he had neglected for six years.

But now, An Sheng was nearly disemboweled, as if made into human jerky!

Only her face remained familiar to him.

“An Sheng—” Bo Jinye’s soul felt torn apart as he trembled, clutching the corpse tightly.

As if pressing her into his very being.

Now he understood everything—the past misunderstandings, what he thought was manipulation had all been protection.

How laughable that he prided himself on being astute, yet failed to see Pei Hanqing and An Ruyue’s true nature!

“It was An Sheng who donated blood for you, An Sheng who saved your subordinates, An Sheng who took the blame to protect the Bo family, and An Sheng who loved and protected you with all her heart.”

An Ruyue sneered mockingly. “But what has she gained, Bo Jinye?”

“The moment she heard she could save you, she obediently became our experiment subject.”

“You truly are the epitome of foolishness and selfishness!”Pei Hanqing sneered repeatedly, wanting to take An Sheng’s body to harvest Bo Jinye’s organs.

But the moment his hand touched An Sheng, Bo Jinye went mad, protecting An Sheng and preventing Pei Hanqing from touching her.

“Who are you putting on this act for now? Is An Sheng really dead, or was she killed by you!” An Ruyue mocked disdainfully.

Bo Jinye, acting insane, murmured, “Yes, you’re right.”

“An Sheng was killed by me.”

“We must be buried with her!”

The man lunged at Pei Hanqing, the broken bone from his leg jutting out and piercing back into the wound from his movement.

A person on the brink of death and despair unleashed immense power.

Pei Hanqing struggled fiercely, while Bo Jinye laughed maniacally, “Come on, let’s be buried with An Sheng!”

As he spoke, he slammed Pei Hanqing’s head hard against the corner of the table.

An Ruyue screamed. Bo Jinye fell to the ground, turned over with difficulty, and crawled toward An Sheng.

Beside them, Pei Hanqing fell silent.

There was a bloody hole in his head.

“An Sheng, don’t be afraid, An Sheng…”

An Sheng, if there is an afterlife, I will kneel down and love you.

An explosion erupted, turning the basement into a sea of flames, incinerating everything.

“An Sheng!”

In the WE Building, the man trapped in a nightmare suddenly woke up, gasping for breath.

Everything before him felt all too familiar, and the sensation of breathing freely seemed unreal.

Of course, it was unreal.

How could he have been reborn?!

Scenes from before his death flashed chaotically through his mind. Bo Jinye sprang up and was about to rush out.

Where was An Sheng?

The phone on the desk rang.

Bo Jinye hadn’t planned to answer it.

But he saw the caller ID—no contact name was saved, yet he remembered that number vividly.

It was An Sheng!

Bo Jinye’s hand trembled as he picked up the phone. Staring at the string of numbers, he hesitated, afraid to answer.

Several dozen seconds passed in an instant.

Before Bo Jinye could collect himself, the call ended automatically, filling him with regret.

Fortunately, An Sheng called again. Bo Jinye quickly steadied himself and answered, “An Sheng…”

As soon as he spoke, his throat tightened, and he couldn’t say anything more.

What could he possibly say to An Sheng besides regret and apologies?

A woman’s gentle, elegant voice came from the other end of the line.

With just a few soft words, she made Bo Jinye relive the agony of his near-death experience in his previous life.

An Sheng said, “Bo Jinye, let’s get a divorce.”

Her voice was filled with exhaustion and relief, so light it seemed as if it could dissipate with the wind.

“No! An Sheng! Where are you? I won’t divorce you, I refuse to divorce you!” Bo Jinye’s voice rose sharply.

The woman on the other end paused, then let out a bitter laugh, “Where else could I be?”

“I’m at the Bo residence.”

Bo Jinye remembered—four years ago, after he was forced to marry An Sheng, he resented and loathed her for scheming her way into the marriage. So, he had confined her to the old mansion.

He never allowed her to leave, wishing that no one in the world would know of this insult to his existence.

Bo Jinye hurriedly ran out of the president’s office, his eyes filled with panic. “An Sheng, wait for me, don’t go!”

“I’m coming right away!”

There was silence on the other end for a moment before the call disconnected.

Bo Jinye’s personal assistant was about to call him to a meeting when he saw him rushing out and quickly followed. “President Bo, where are you going?”

“Shi Yan? Hurry and get the car! We’re going back to the old mansion!” Bo Jinye roared.

Everyone on the top floor was startled by Bo Jinye. Shi Yan followed closely behind him as they strode toward the elevator, signaling the others to continue working. At this moment, An Sheng stood outside the Bo family ancestral home, quietly watching.

For four years, she had been confined here under the pretext of poor health requiring recuperation, almost completely forbidden from leaving.

She had deeply loved Bo Jinye.

Now, she only wanted to let go.

She was tired…
