“Shiyu, even after seeing me like this, you still won’t forgive me? You really talk to me with such cold indifference… Aren’t you afraid I’ll be heartbroken?”

Watching Tang Shiyu walk into the company building, Ye Chen felt like his little heart was about to shatter.

No comfort, no warmth—just told to get lost.

Tang Shiyu had never spoken to him this coldly before. It tore him apart.

Even if he’d made mistakes, he was still the Dragon King! A man destined to reach the peak! Couldn’t she at least forgive him once?!

In his heart, Ye Chen had already banished Tang Shiyu to the cold palace.

Though it was the cold palace, she was still his woman. He had no plans of letting her go just like that.

Ye Chen looked up at Tangyu Group and muttered, “Tangyu Group is one of the stepping stones I’ll use to dominate the Dragon Nation.”

To shift Dragon King Hall’s base of operations into the Dragon Nation, these major corporations were essential.

Tang Shiyu was the key to eventually swallowing the Tang family whole.

In Ye Chen’s eyes, as long as a powerful family had a high-quality beauty, they’d be spared from destruction.

Thinking about this, he suddenly recalled the hot-tempered police officer.

“Xiaoyu, we’ll be seeing each other very soon,” Ye Chen said softly, eyes drifting toward the horizon.

Glancing back at Tangyu Group one last time, Ye Chen hesitated but eventually turned to leave.

Tang Shiyu clearly wasn’t joking earlier.

If she really called the police and he ended up in a holding cell, that wouldn’t be fun at all.

His subordinate Alice had already been blacklisted by the Dragon Nation’s Cybersecurity Bureau. To erase a certain video, she’d had to flee to America to lay low.

If his name got reported online again, he’d be in serious trouble.

In Tang Shiyu’s office, she stood at the window, watching Ye Chen walk away. Only then did she set down her phone.

If Ye Chen dared step foot in Tangyu Group again, she would call the police immediately.

Then she looked into the distance and whispered, “This life, without them… I’ll protect Chengye.”

…

Inside the Jiang family villa.

Jiang Chengye lounged on the sofa, hugging half a watermelon and scooping it with a spoon.

On the TV played one of the latest trending movies—Chicken, You’re Too Beautiful.

But after watching for a while, Jiang Chengye nearly gagged.

“Damn! What garbage is this?” This chapter was copied from g.com without permission.

Suddenly, an idea popped into his head.

Why not film his own movie?

Make something raw and real, based on his own role!

He’d recreate the story of his villain character—let Ye Chen experience the full extent of his glorious journey.

Once it was out, Ye Chen would finally understand what true malice felt like.

Ye Chen: Let me just say… thank you.

Once the idea hit, Jiang Chengye dropped the watermelon and dashed upstairs to find his gentle old man.

Inside Jiang Zhenhua’s room—

Jiang Zhenhua sat at the edge of the bed, holding a photo of a woman with ethereal beauty. He also had his phone playing a video, holding it up in front of the picture.

“Dear, I wrongly accused Little Ye. Look at this video. From now on, anyone who dares call me the Father of the Wolf Simp…”

As he spoke, tears rolled down his cheeks.

Just then, Jiang Chengye pushed open the door. Jiang Zhenhua jumped and quickly wiped away the tears on his face.

“You brat! Ever heard of knocking?!”

Jiang Chengye felt a little awkward. He hadn’t expected to catch Jiang Zhenhua crying.

Who would’ve guessed?

“Ahem… Dad, next time lock the door before crying,” Jiang Chengye coughed awkwardly. Then, seeing the photo in Jiang Zhenhua’s hand, he paused. “Dad, where did you find this streamer? She looks like a fairy!”

Jiang Zhenhua’s expression turned angry, “That’s your f***ing mother!”

Jiang Chengye was stunned. His mother?

He had never seen her. All he knew was that she died in childbirth, and her name was Ouyang Mingxue.

In his memories, she was just a distant longing.

He never imagined she’d be this beautiful—rivaling even the fairy goddesses of Blue Star.

Jiang Zhenhua had never shown him any pictures before. He had said his wife didn’t want Chengye to have painful memories since he’d never met her.

“Dad… You’re not lying to me? This really is Mom?” Jiang Chengye took the photo and examined it closely, studying Jiang Zhenhua as he asked.

“Get lost! You think I’d joke about your mom?” Jiang Zhenhua glared and snatched the photo back, carefully putting it into a box.

“So what do you want? Spit it out, and then get lost. Don’t disturb my peaceful mood!”

Clearly, he didn’t want Chengye lingering on this topic, so he quickly shifted the conversation.

Jiang Chengye never came upstairs unless he had something important to say.

“Do we still have that film company?” Jiang Chengye asked, sitting beside him.

Jiang Zhenhua blinked and then nodded, giving him a suspicious look. “What are you planning?”

Jiang Chengye could tell he was overthinking it and chuckled awkwardly, “I’ve got some free time lately, so I thought I’d shoot a movie. And since we already have a company…”

Hearing this, Jiang Zhenhua’s heart clenched, but he quickly calmed himself.

Now that Chengye wasn’t simping or partying, it was good to keep him occupied.

He couldn’t afford to let him get idle again. Who knew when he might relapse and become the ultimate simp once more?

He’d finally shaken off the ‘Father of the Wolf Simp’ title. If it came back, it’d be a permanent label!

“Alright. I’ll make a call to the group. Whatever you want to film, go ahead. Just don’t be idle!” Jiang Zhenhua said seriously.

Jiang Chengye nodded helplessly. Clearly, his dad had PTSD from his past.

“Now get lost.” Jiang Zhenhua waved him off. As Chengye was leaving, he added, “Just don’t stay idle. Do whatever you want—just don’t kill, commit arson, or break the law. Everything else, I’ll support. Oh, and make me a grandson while you’re still young!”

Jiang Chengye slammed the door shut. After seeing that kiss this morning, Jiang Zhenhua was clearly in a rush for a grandchild.

Tang Shiyu’s genes combined with his own—surely they’d produce an exceptional heir!

Jiang Chengye was speechless. The emperor himself wasn’t in a hurry, but the retired emperor sure was.

After he left, Jiang Zhenhua once again pulled out Ouyang Mingxue’s photo and silently let his tears fall…

“Do whatever you want.”

Jiang Chengye repeated the phrase softly. His eyes gleamed with a sharp light.

After freshening up, he grabbed his car keys and drove straight to a familiar location—

Sunshine Welfare Home.

This was the first orphanage he had donated to during his first lifetime.

Nothing had changed. The rusted signboard still hung out front. From inside, the sound of children’s laughter echoed.

Back then, it was that laughter that had drawn him in.

Seeing the children now felt like seeing his younger self from Blue Star.
