Just as Ye Chen dialed the number, a fierce voice came from the other end.

“Location?”

Just one word—four syllables. It stunned Ye Chen on the spot.Full novel: After the Villain Finished His Role, the System Eloped with the Heavenly Dao — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

He was a bit confused at first, but then realized this must be the dispatcher.

He got it.

A crooked smile appeared on his lips as he casually responded with the address.

“Wait a moment. We’ll arrange it right away.”

Then the call was cut off.

After hanging up, Ye Chen stood by the window, calmly gazing at the now-curtained apartment across the street, full of disdain in his heart.

Not long after, a knock came from the door.

Ye Chen adjusted his clothes and opened the door with a composed expression.

The moment the door opened, he froze. His eyes went blank.

His body tensed, every hair on end—he even felt a trace of fear.

In front of him stood someone in a huge pink dress—a muscular, devilishly strong… thing.

“Hello, I’m Durian Girl.”

The voice sounded oddly familiar. He’d just heard it earlier. Despite the fake cutesy tone, there was a strong masculine undertone to it.

While Ye Chen was still dazed, Durian Girl squeezed into his apartment.

Only then did the petrified Ye Chen snap back to reality.

“I want a refund!” Ye Chen shouted, trying hard to stay composed.

Durian Girl acted like she didn’t hear him, sat right down on his precious sofa. The sofa let out a pained creak.

Sofa: Heavy! Too damn heavy!

Durian Girl’s figure made the sofa experience the true meaning of unbearable suffering.

The poor little sofa was at its limit.

“Refund? Didn’t you see the fine print on the card? Everything is subject to the actual product,” Durian Girl said indifferently, then sprawled out fully on the sofa.

Another pained creak echoed from the couch.

Ye Chen pulled out the card and examined it closely. Sure enough, on the back, hidden in tiny 1 cm font was the phrase: “Everything subject to actual product.”

Who the hell notices that? This chapter is updated first at g.com.

“Scam artist! You damn scammer!” Ye Chen growled under his breath.

“What, didn’t lie to you, right?” Durian Girl chuckled. This time, the voice was completely different—no longer fake sweet.

Ye Chen instantly realized—this was the same voice as the dispatcher on the phone earlier!

What the hell?! This was a nightmare!

When had the mighty Dragon King ever been humiliated like this?

Just then, a strange voice echoed in Ye Chen’s mind, constantly tempting him: “The woman before you is a beauty!”

His mind began to spiral into confusion.

At that moment, Durian Girl was typing a text on her phone.

[Fish on the hook. Reeling in in five minutes.]

A reply quickly came: [Understood.]

She looked at Ye Chen, who was clutching his head, “Hey, not bad, kid. Still got bandages on your head—injured but determined, huh? Come sit down.”

She thought Ye Chen was just adjusting the bandage, but slowly realized something wasn’t right.

“No! No!” Ye Chen growled, clutching his head.

“Whoa, big guy, what’s wrong? Don’t scare me now,” Durian Girl began backing toward the door.

But it was already too late.

…

Downstairs at Ye Chen’s apartment, five punks with colorful hairstyles held baseball bats and scanned the surroundings.

The leader, a red-haired guy named Liu Ma, had a long, shovel-like face with a knife scar running 5–6 centimeters down his cheek.

They were dressed in spiked jackets, looking sharp and mean.

These guys made their living from extortion.

Simply put—they were pros at “catching people in the act.”

“Durian says the fish is hooked,” Liu Ma smirked, eyes glued to the text on his phone.

“Brother Ma, once we get the money, let’s go out and have some fun. I haven’t hit the spa in ages,” said Lu Mao, grinning lewdly at Liu Ma.

Smack!

Liu Ma slapped him upside the head.

The others looked at Lu Mao with amused expressions. While joking around, four minutes passed in a blink.

“One minute left. Let’s move!” Liu Ma snarled, threw away his cigarette, gripped his bat, and charged upstairs with his crew.

Not far behind them, a man watched them ascend, then pulled out a walkie-talkie—reporting something.

Meanwhile, inside Ye Chen’s apartment, everything had already happened. Or… maybe nothing had happened.

Durian Girl’s face was flushed. This time, things had gone sideways—she completely lost control.

She had never experienced something like this.

It was downright terrifying.

You could even calculate the time. Just pitiful, really.

Ye Chen sat at the edge of the bed, smoking, looking completely lifeless.

He had no idea what just happened—or why it happened.

It was like a nightmare. His mind had been a blur during the entire thing.

And yet, afterward, the memories were crystal clear.

Collapse was the only word.

Outside the apartment, Liu Ma and his men had arrived.

Bang!

With a solid kick, Liu Ma smashed open the rusted security door.

“Damn it! Who the hell’s stealing my woman?!”

Liu Ma stormed into Ye Chen’s apartment, bat in hand, with the others following behind like thugs from a B-movie.

Faces full of menace.

Ye Chen was still dazed, not even reacting to the violent entry.

“Forget it, Brother Ma. He’s just a pitiful soul,” Durian Girl said, trying to deescalate.

But Liu Ma wasn’t interested. This score was everything—his reputation, his payday—he had to make it count.

He went straight into his script—it had never failed him.

“Cut the crap! So it’s you, huh? Got the nerve to mess with my woman?!” Liu Ma pointed the bat at Ye Chen, who was still spacing out. “Yo, even got a bandage on your head. Injured but determined, huh?!”

Ye Chen slowly looked up at Liu Ma, a flicker of killing intent flashing in his eyes.

…
