While Su Yu’s thoughts ran wild, Shen Congyan’s car had already driven far away, leaving him standing alone in the wind, completely petrified.

The car rolled along slowly.

The partition between the front and back seats was very soundproof; the driver couldn’t hear a thing.Full novel: After the Villainess Goes Bankrupt, They All Want to Bully Her — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Mustering her courage, Lin Wanfu threw herself into Shen Congyan’s arms and leaned close to his ear, coaxing him sweetly. “Ayan, my dad hasn’t been well lately. Could you please not mistreat him?”

Shen Congyan lowered his eyes slightly, hiding the ripples in their depths. His voice was as cool and distant as ever, devoid of warmth. “Why should I agree to that?”

In truth, even if Lin Wanfu hadn’t asked, he hadn’t planned to do anything to Father Lin—let alone mistreat him.

But there was no need to let Lin Wanfu know that. She had believed Shen Huaijin’s honeyed words and hurt him so badly. Without teaching her a lesson, he couldn’t quell the anger in his heart.

Lin Wanfu wasn’t intimidated by Shen Congyan’s cold expression. She looped her arms around his neck, then buried her face against the side of his neck and said in a muffled voice, “I was the one who schemed against you. My dad knew nothing about it from beginning to end. He’s innocent.”

She didn’t want to show weakness to someone she hated, but her Dad was still in Shen Congyan’s hands.

And System 0573 had gone quiet for some reason, too. Ever since it had told her a little while ago that it had detected Shen Congyan’s emotional fluctuations, it had vanished completely. No matter how often she called out to it in her mind, it didn’t respond.

“So you do know you schemed against me?” Shen Congyan’s pale, slender fingers gripped Lin Wanfu’s chin, forcing her to meet his eyes. His thin lips parted. “Lin Wanfu, cut out those little tricks you use to seduce people. I’m not stupid enough to fall into the same trap twice.”

Every word Shen Congyan said dripped with scorn, and Lin Wanfu flared up at once. She slapped his hand away and glared at him defiantly.

“Don’t you dare slander me. When did I ever seduce you? You’re the one who gets all worked up the moment you see me.”

Shen Congyan caught Lin Wanfu’s wrist. “You didn’t seduce me? Then why are your hands all over me?”

Who knew where this woman got the nerve to slide her hand under his shirt and test his patience like she had a death wish?

Caught red-handed by Shen Congyan, Lin Wanfu’s face instantly flushed scarlet. But she still held her chin high and stubbornly retorted, “You think I care about your abs? Hmph. They don’t even feel as good as a male escort’s.”

In fact, just from those couple of touches, she could tell Shen Congyan’s abs were beautifully defined. That was why she hadn’t been able to resist touching them a few more times.

“A male escort? Eldest Miss Lin, don’t tell me that useless Shen Huaijin hasn’t satisfied you in all these three years, so you’ve had to go looking for male escorts at nightclubs?”

Shen Congyan suddenly pinned Lin Wanfu against the car window. The cramped interior was a little awkward for someone as tall and long-legged as he was, but it didn’t hinder him.

“As if you’ve ever satisfied me.”

In her anger, Lin Wanfu spoke without thinking. The moment the words left her mouth, she regretted them.

Oh no. Damn this mouth of hers. Was Shen Congyan going to kill her before her time?

Shen Congyan narrowed his eyes dangerously. “I had no idea you were so insatiable.”

His palm gradually moved to the small of Lin Wanfu’s back, stroking along the curve of her waist in a suggestive way.

As Shen Congyan’s scorching body pressed closer, Lin Wanfu panicked. Her words tumbled out in a rush. “Listen to me—no, let me explain. I only said all that because I was angry. Don’t take it seriously. Besides, you can’t have that thing in your car, can you? What if I get pregnant with your child? I’m your enemy.”

Though Shen Congyan’s physique did make her feel a little drawn to him, the plot’s three days and three nights sounded terrifying. She was only twenty-three, young and beautiful. She didn’t want to die.

“If you’re so afraid of me, why do you keep provoking me? Do you even have a brain?”

Seeing how pale Lin Wanfu was with fear, Shen Congyan knitted his brows. His heart felt inexplicably tight.

Did she like Shen Huaijin that much? So much that she couldn’t even let him touch her?

He was the one who was rightfully her fiancé.

If Shen Huaijin hadn’t stolen her from him, he would already be married to her.

When Shen Congyan showed no sign of letting her go, Lin Wanfu lost patience with keeping up the act.

“If you dare get me pregnant by accident today, once the baby’s born, I’ll teach him that his dad is a heinous rapist. I’ll make him hate you for the rest of his life…”

Unable to stand another word from Lin Wanfu that he didn’t want to hear, Shen Congyan simply lowered his head and kissed her.

Lin Wanfu’s eyes flew open. She clearly hadn’t expected Shen Congyan to kiss her so suddenly.

Then, instinctively, she began to struggle, pushing hard against his chest with both hands.

But Shen Congyan held her fast, taking control of her breathing as he deepened the kiss again and again.

Only when Lin Wanfu felt she was about to suffocate did Shen Congyan finally let her go.

He leaned close to Lin Wanfu’s ear, panting. “You’re just as stupid and vicious as ever.”

And yet, pathetically, he was still attracted to her. The moment he saw her, he couldn’t tear himself away. What a loser.

Lin Wanfu glared at Shen Congyan. “Then why do you keep kissing me? Aren’t you afraid I’ll poison you to death?”

Her lips were swollen, her beautiful eyes misty with desire. Even her glare looked like a coquettish pout. It had no bite at all—instead, it made him want to do something even more outrageous to her.

“I’m sacrificing myself for the greater good. If you wreak havoc on me, that’s my bad luck. I can’t let you go wreak havoc on someone else.”

As he spoke, Shen Congyan sat down in the back seat, then casually pulled Lin Wanfu into his arms, looking entirely self-righteous, as if that were genuinely his reasoning.

Lin Wanfu squirmed in displeasure.

“What are you doing? Your lap is hard as a rock. It’s really uncomfortable to sit on. Put me down.”

“Don’t move. Let me hold you for a while.” Shen Congyan’s large hand clamped firmly around Lin Wanfu’s waist. His clear, cool voice had gone hoarse. “If you keep squirming, I can’t promise I’ll be able to stop myself from doing something to you.”

Lin Wanfu immediately went still.

She kept reassuring herself in her mind: anyone who wanted to achieve great things had to know when to yield and when to stand firm. Once she came out on top, she’d make sure that bastard Shen Congyan paid for this.

Looking at Lin Wanfu, unusually docile for once, Shen Congyan’s gaze softened without him realizing it.

“Sweetheart, as long as you promise that from now on you’ll love only me, I’ll help fill the hole in the Lin family’s finances and let you keep being the Eldest Miss of the Lin family. How about it?”

“No. Shen Congyan, I don’t love you.” Lin Wanfu rejected him without a moment’s hesitation.

She knew Shen Congyan too well. If she agreed, even if tomorrow wasn’t a business day, he’d find a way to get a marriage certificate for the two of them, then loudly announce to the world that she was his wife and bind her to him for good.

She could practically see what married life with Shen Congyan would be like: she’d have no freedom at all.

Shen Congyan would probably keep her under his watch twenty-four hours a day, making her do everything right under his nose.

Who could stand a suffocating kind of love like that?

She certainly couldn’t.
