The two tacitly stopped mentioning what had just happened. After chatting about this and that for a while, the topic turned back to Gu Shaochen.

“A-Chen, I heard you’re divorcing the one at home?” Li Zeyu mysteriously put down his wineglass and asked.

“It was bound to happen sooner or later. Our Brother Gu already has someone in his heart.” Someone laughed, casting a teasing glance at Bai Qingying beside him. “How could he bear to keep a beauty waiting forever?”Full novel: After Three Years of Marriage, My Husband Lost His Memory Again — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Bai Qingying blushed and hid slightly behind Gu Shaochen.

Gu Shaochen forcefully pulled her into his arms, his possessiveness obvious. “Enough. Stop teasing Ying’er all the time.”

“Ooh, ooh, ooh. Young Master Gu is really possessive of Sister-in-law. Now we’re not even allowed to talk about her.” The private room erupted with teasing voices.

Fu Huaqing joined in the applause. “Congratulations to Young Master Gu for finally getting what he wanted. After a ten-year marathon of love, you can finally be together with your true love!”

Once someone started, the others followed with congratulations. Hearing those polite words greatly pleased Gu Shaochen.

Ji Yuxiang played with the dice in his hand, a sharp glint reflecting beneath his lenses. He slowly said, “A-Chen, you’re saying divorce like it’s that simple. Will the old man at home agree?”

The private room fell silent for a moment.

Several pairs of eyes curiously stared at him.

Gu Shaochen revealed a smile of absolute confidence.

“Grandpa is already old.”

“Not bad, Brother Gu. Out of all of us, you’re the first one who’s finally about to get ahead.”

They were all rich second-generation heirs. Some had older brothers or sisters above them, while others were still controlled by their fathers, uncles, or other elders. None of them had much real power in their hands.

Gu Shaochen was different.

He was the only heir in his family. His parents had died early and hadn’t left behind any siblings to compete with him for the inheritance, while the only person in charge of the Gu family was already advanced in age.

“A-Chen, then what about your son? Are you leaving him at the ancestral residence for your old master to raise, or are you simply letting Song Lansheng take him away?” Li Zeyu asked with a cheeky grin, clearly enjoying the drama.

“Ying’er and I will raise him ourselves. After all, he’s my son, Gu Shaochen’s.”

Gu Shaochen’s answer was unexpected.

The others all looked at Bai Qingying with a trace of interest in their eyes.

Keeping the ex-wife’s son right under the current woman’s nose every day—Young Master Gu really knew how to make things uncomfortable.

Bai Qingying looked slightly uncomfortable under their gazes. She bit her lower lip and gently tugged at Gu Shaochen’s clothes.

Seeing his friends’ expressions, Gu Shaochen knew they had misunderstood and rolled his eyes.

“What nonsense are you all thinking? She’s the only woman I’ll ever love in this life. Giving birth is like walking through the gates of hell. Pregnancy is so difficult. I feel sorry for Ying’er and can’t bear to see her suffer.”

Ji Yuxiang raised an eyebrow and casually said, “Then the two of you can do IVF and have someone else give birth for you.”

The atmosphere in the room froze for an instant.

Fu Huaqing frowned slightly. He put down his glass and looked at Ji Yuxiang with a cold gaze.

“Ji Yuxiang, don’t casually give people ideas like that. That’s illegal both domestically and abroad.”

Ji Yuxiang immediately raised both hands in surrender.

“I was just joking. Brother Gu, don’t take it seriously.”

Gu Shaochen took a sip of wine without commenting, but Bai Qingying’s expression changed slightly.

“Hey.” Afraid the group would start fighting, Li Zeyu quickly stepped in to smooth things over. “It was just a joke, just a joke. Why are all of you only gossiping about A-Chen? Xiangzi, didn’t you keep a little celebrity last time? Why didn’t you bring them out to play with us?”

“I didn’t keep anyone.” Ji Yuxiang shrugged. “We were just getting what we each wanted.”

Everyone laughed and joked for a while, and the atmosphere became lively again.

Some drank, some played cards. The party that night was wild. Several minor celebrities even took turns holding microphones, singing while performing stripteases.

Inside the small side room, Yu Yingying watched with amazement and quietly said to Fu Shengyan, “Don’t offend any of the guests here. Look at those celebrities. Which one of them would you normally only see on television? Yet now they’re serving these rich and powerful people just like us.”

“Being good-looking really is an advantage, but there are some ideas you’re better off never entertaining. Life is long. Ordinary people like us can earn money honestly, and our lives might not necessarily be less happy than those rich people’s.”

Yu Yingying spoke meaningfully.

She had a good impression of this new guy and didn’t want him to go astray.

Fu Shengyan nodded and didn’t reject her kindness.

He instinctively reached into his pocket for his phone, only to come up empty.

Crap.

He must have left it in the staff break room.

He became a little anxious.

He didn’t know whether Zhizhi had sent him any messages, but she had a business dinner tonight, so she probably wouldn’t have time to look for him.

Fu Shengyan felt slightly reassured.

At that moment, Bai Qingying left the private room alone.

Seeing this, Fu Shengyan found an excuse and slipped out after her.

Holding a tray, he followed Bai Qingying from neither too near nor too far away.

She paused for a few seconds, turned a corner, and headed toward the restroom, only to collide with a man’s chest the next moment.

“Ah!”

She let out a soft cry and took the opportunity to fall toward the man.

The man sneered and stepped aside, allowing her to fall onto the floor.

“So many years have passed, and this is still the only trick you know. You really haven’t improved at all.”

“You!”

Bai Qingying rubbed her ankle and glared lightly at him.

“Why did you follow me out?” Ji Yuxiang looked down at her from above. “What? You couldn’t hook Young Master Fu, so now you’ve remembered me again? Isn’t one Gu Shaochen enough for you to play with?”

Bai Qingying’s face flushed red with anger.

“What nonsense are you talking about? Stop flattering yourself. Who followed you…”

Ji Yuxiang’s gaze turned cold.

“I’m not Gu Shaochen. I don’t have time to stand here and watch you act.”

Sensing the man’s impatience, Bai Qingying bit her lower lip.

“I wanted to ask you for the address of the organization that can do that.”

Ji Yuxiang became somewhat interested.

He crouched down and pinched Bai Qingying’s chin between his fingers, studying her for a moment.

“You’re asking me about that because you want to… Heh. You really are just as ruthless as ever.”

Bai Qingying didn’t avoid his gaze and looked directly at him.

“Opportunities always have to be fought for yourself. I want to live a better life. What’s wrong with that?”

“I’m starting to admire you, little illegitimate daughter.”

Ji Yuxiang smiled and lowered his head to kiss her lips.

Bai Qingying’s gaze flickered, but she didn’t reject the kiss.

She had always been afraid of this man.

He was intelligent, dangerous, and completely lacking in morals.

Bai Qingying had once treated Ji Yuxiang as prey too, but the man had seen through her tricks at a glance.

“Little illegitimate daughter, your methods are far too crude. They don’t work on me.”

The man carefully wiped the hand she had touched earlier with a handkerchief.

“Disappear from my sight within three seconds, or I wouldn’t mind making you disappear from City A.”

The corners of his lips curved upward, but there wasn’t the slightest trace of amusement in his eyes.

The way he looked at her was like he was looking at some inferior object.

Bai Qingying became frightened.

She shakily climbed up from the ground, picked up her books, and fled in panic.

Ji Yuxiang released her and leaned close to her ear, softly saying a few words.

“Can you… not tell A-Chen about this?” Bai Qingying whispered.

Ji Yuxiang froze for a moment, then raised an eyebrow.

His tone became exaggerated.

“Bai Qingying, don’t tell me you actually fell in love with Gu Shaochen? Or has Gu Shaochen still not figured out what kind of person you really are?”

“We truly love each other,” Bai Qingying gritted out.

As though he had heard something hilarious, Ji Yuxiang burst out laughing.

“Ha! It’s enough to use that line to fool Gu Shaochen. How did you end up believing it yourself?”

He stood up and casually wiped away the tears of laughter from the corners of his eyes.

“I heard that when the Gu family’s young master was five years old, he was nearly kidnapped. Luckily, a little girl saved him. Afterward, the Gu family wanted to thank the girl in person but couldn’t find her.”

“That little girl… couldn’t possibly have been you, Bai Qingying, right?”

Ji Yuxiang widened his eyes in surprise, then frowned and shook his head the next moment.

“No, no. That can’t be right. How could someone like you possibly risk yourself to save a child you didn’t know? My guess is that Gu Shaochen must have mistaken you for someone else.”

All the color instantly drained from Bai Qingying’s face.

Ji Yuxiang leaned down and softly asked beside her ear, “Tell me, did Bai Qingying steal someone else’s identity as his lifesaving benefactor?”

Her hands clenched tightly into fists, her nails digging into her palms without her even noticing the pain.

Bai Qingying forced down her wildly pounding heart and spoke with a trembling voice.

“You…”

What nonsense are you talking about?

“I don’t like other people ordering me around.”

Ji Yuxiang waved a hand and interrupted her.

He fixed his hair in the mirror, didn’t spare Bai Qingying another glance, and walked straight past her.

Fu Shengyan stared in stunned silence.

He hadn’t expected to witness such a spectacular scene, much less for Ji Yuxiang to act so unpredictably.

There was no time to think.

Fu Shengyan prepared to hide, but he was a step too slow and ended up face-to-face with the man.

Fu Shengyan: “……”

Ji Yuxiang: “……”

“Eavesdropping on guests’ privacy isn’t something a good employee should be doing.”

Ji Yuxiang rubbed his chin and looked at Fu Shengyan suspiciously.

“You look a little familiar.”

A bad feeling rose in Fu Shengyan’s heart.

He put on a calm expression, carried the tray, and walked past him.

“I was just passing by. Sir, please move aside.”

Ji Yuxiang was about to say something when Supervisor Zhou appeared at just the right moment.

“Wu Honglang! I told you to go to Room 316. Why are you still wandering around here?!”

Fu Shengyan hurriedly jogged toward the private room.

“Sorry, Supervisor Zhou! I’ll go right now!”

So his surname wasn’t Fu…

Ji Yuxiang withdrew his gaze.

“You’re still slacking off here? I don’t think you want your salary anymore!”

Supervisor Zhou shouted angrily after Fu Shengyan.

Then, when he turned to Ji Yuxiang, his expression immediately became gentle and pleasant.

“Sorry for causing you trouble, sir. He’s new and doesn’t understand the rules very well. We’ll deal with him seriously…”

Ji Yuxiang waved his hand and strode back toward the private room.

Fu Shengyan originally wanted to secretly slip back to the staff break room, retrieve his phone, and change back into his own clothes.

Who would have thought Supervisor Zhou would follow closely behind him without taking a single step away?

With no choice, Fu Shengyan could only bite the bullet and head toward Room 316.

He would bluff his way through this first, then find a chance to escape.

Supervisor Zhou grabbed him, told him to put down the tray, and pushed a cart into his hands.

“Be careful. That liquor costs tens of thousands. If you’re careless and break it, double the price will be deducted from your salary.”

It had to be said that the soundproofing at a high-end club really was excellent.

Before Fu Shengyan pushed open the door, he hadn’t heard even the slightest bit of noise from inside.

Unexpectedly, the people inside were actually his “acquaintances.”

“Young Master Wu, if you ask me, that brat Fu Shengyan really doesn’t know what’s good for him!”

“Exactly! He isn’t even worthy of carrying your shoes!” The people beside him immediately agreed.

Wu Pengtian snorted coldly.

“He’d better not let me run into that pretty boy again, or this young master will…”

The door opened from outside at exactly that moment.

“Sir, the liquor you ordered has arrived.”
