Everyone got off the vehicle cautiously and arrived at the warehouse gate.

Ji Heng, after passing the password verification, opened the main warehouse door. He stood at the entrance and looked inside, seeing a small warehouse that stretched beyond sight.

Tian Le was amazed. Although he had read plenty of information about how vast Ji Corporation was and how endless its resources seemed, seeing it in person was still quite shocking.Full novel: After Transmigration, I Became a Babysitter for a Big Shot in the Apocalypse — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Wow, Daddy has so many little rooms.” Ji Tianyi couldn’t help exclaiming in Tian Le’s arms.

“Let’s go, open all these doors. We’re taking all the supplies today.”

Ji Heng handed a portion of the keys to Lu Jingze, while he himself led Tian Le to the other side.

“Tian Le, put all the supplies into your space.”

“Okay.”

Tian Le still thought to himself: I’ve never seen so many supplies in my life. Ji Heng trusts me this much—he’s not afraid I’d run off with everything?

But if anyone were to run off with so many things, they’d probably be caught and torn apart even at the ends of the earth.

He shivered at the thought. Sticking close to Ji Heng and surviving seemed far more reliable.

Room by room, he stored the items into his space. Since the warehouse’s contents were already organized, some even attached to the shelves, Tian Le could move everything in at once, saving time on sorting.

“Daddy, I want to walk by myself too.”

Ji Tianyi saw many small snacks in the warehouse that Lu Jingze and the others were opening.

He started drooling but decided he wanted to try walking on his own. Since his supernatural ability had awakened, his body no longer felt soft and weak, and his legs were clearly stronger.

“You can walk by yourself?”

“I don’t know yet, Daddy, but I want to try.”

“All right.”

Tian Le set him on the ground. Ji Tianyi wobbled as he stood, slowly adjusting to balance.

He moved cautiously, one small step at a time.

Tian Le watched as he quickly adapted. Though careful, he could basically walk, which eased Tian Le’s worries a little.

“Ji Heng, look, your son can walk by himself now.”

Ji Heng turned at the voice and saw the little one still in a diaper, wiggling his small bottom as he walked toward one of the open warehouses.

He glanced at the snacks inside, shook his head with a smile—still very much a child.

After about half an hour of collecting, Tian Le began to tire. His face grew paler than before, and sweat formed on his forehead.

Seeing Tian Le’s increasingly pale face, Ji Heng immediately called a stop.

“Take a break first. We’ll continue once your supernatural ability recovers.”

Tian Le didn’t insist and rested on the spot. Using up supernatural ability felt unpleasant; his whole head throbbed with sharp pain, and his nerves twitched in waves.

“Lu Jingze, each of you take a backpack and gather some supplies. You’ll need to carry them with you.”

Tian Le couldn’t always stay with everyone. In emergencies, he would need to rely on himself. Moreover, since the apocalypse had already happened, who could truly be trusted?

Ji Heng didn’t think much about it. If no one could be relied upon, placing all the warehouse supplies in Tian Le’s space was simply another form of security.

The boss’s inexplicable trust shocked Tian Le. Could this be Ji Heng’s confidence as a top figure? To him, Tian Le was probably just a minor entity, incapable of causing any real effect, posing no threat whatsoever.

Tian Le revealed part of the truth.

The other part was that, as someone recruited by the Secretary’s office, he would access Ji Corporation’s core. Before joining, Ji Corporation had conducted background checks. Ji Heng was well aware of Tian Le’s situation.

Moreover, he was currently his son’s babysitter. Seeing someone so young yet professional left Ji Heng with the impression that Tian Le was very trustworthy.

Lu Jingze and the others quickly packed some essential items and rested in place.

Ji Tianyi, meanwhile, casually grabbed a pack of lollipops from a lower shelf, opened it, and immediately began sucking. The candies were bigger than his small mouth, yet the little one pouted and licked happily.

He hummed, “Mmm, this is so tasty.”

“Baby, come here.”

After Tian Le sat down to rest and checked the time, it was time to feed the little one.

“Daddy’s giving you something tasty.”

Hearing the call, Ji Tianyi stopped walking, happily wobbling toward Tian Le, still holding the candy wrapper.

“Thank you, Baby.”

Tian Le graciously took the candy. The little one remembered him—such a good Baby.

Ji Tianyi then happily toddled toward Ji Heng: “Dad, here you go.”

“Thanks.”

Ji Heng didn’t eat the candy but casually placed it in his bag, appreciating that the little one wasn’t showing favoritism too strongly.

Occasionally, the sound of zombies pounding on the warehouse doors could be heard. After fighting zombies for two days, everyone had slowly gotten used to it.

“Bang, bang, bang.”

Several people furrowed their brows unconsciously. Once Tian Le had mostly recovered, they resumed the next round of gathering supplies.

After Lu Jingze and the others opened all the small warehouse doors, they stood guard at the entrance, clearing nearby zombies. The pounding noise was too loud and would attract even more.

The process of collecting supplies went relatively smoothly. After a few rests, Tian Le worked until nightfall before finishing the collection.

During the repeated cycles of use and rest, his spatial-type ability became increasingly skilled.

Ji Tianyi, aside from initial excitement, lost interest after about two hours. The rest of the time was mostly spent eating and sleeping.

He was slowly adapting to his body, gradually leaving the state of a newborn.

He stayed awake longer than yesterday and had noticeably more strength.

He lay in the sleeping bag Tian Le had laid on the ground, drowsily thinking in his dreams about wanting to become stronger quickly.

He hoped that tomorrow he could be more powerful and help Dad fight the monsters outside.

“It’s dark. It’s not safe outside. Should we just rest in the warehouse today?”

Tian Le looked outside. Darkness had fully descended. He remembered that nighttime zombies were much stronger than those in the day. Traveling now could easily result in being surrounded.

Getting away then wouldn’t be easy.

“Mm.”

“Jingze, prepare some food. We’ll rest in the warehouse tonight and continue our journey tomorrow.”

Ji Heng sat in the camping chair Tian Le had brought from his space, watching the little red-faced Ji Tianyi sleeping nearby. His expression softened.

“What do you all want to eat? I’ll get it.”

With all the team’s supplies in his hands, he was now a mobile warehouse. If he didn’t speak up, it looked like Lu Jingze and the others would end up gnawing on dry rations again.
