For some reason, Esdeath was exceptionally hungry.

After finishing a whole rabbit in one go, she was still a bit hungry, so she roasted another one.

Could it be because her physique had grown stronger, so she was eating more?

Those tribesmen who hunted Danger Beasts also ate exceptionally large amounts at every meal.

Esdeath was very happy; this meant she had truly become stronger and was no longer a weakling.

After a hasty roasted rabbit lunch, unable to resist the urge to get stronger, Esdeath kept searching for prey in the forest using the Eye of True Sight.

However, she also discovered one thing: for the same type of prey, hunting it three times would no longer grant villain points.

Just as Esdeath was immersed in hunting animals to get stronger, a sneaky figure found her in the forest where she was hunting.

This person was none other than Bark, who had been messed with by Esdeath yesterday.

Bark and Zafik were both hot-blooded youths; how could they swallow such an insult?

It was impossible to exact revenge in the tribe with others watching, but outside the tribe, it was a place without restrictions, a place where grudges were settled with fists.

Bark didn’t intend to go too far; Esdeath was, after all, the tribal chief’s daughter.

If something really happened to her, he wouldn’t fare well either.

He just wanted to teach her a lesson and let her know that he was someone she couldn’t afford to provoke.

If Bark and Zafik both came out together, and Esdeath went back to complain later, it would be very easy to expose them.

Therefore, Bark decided to teach her a lesson alone.

Bark, after all, was someone who could follow the Hunting Team to hunt Danger Beasts; dealing with a frail girl should be effortless.

When Bark entered the forest and was about a hundred meters from Esdeath, she sensed something.

A premonition, similar to heart palpitations, warned her that a malicious creature targeting her was approaching, and that creature could pose a threat to her.

This was the passive effect of the Eye of Truth: detecting enemies within a certain range.

In a direct confrontation, she might not win; biological instinct made Esdeath turn and run.

Seeing Esdeath, whom he had finally found, suddenly run away, Bark couldn’t help but curse and give chase: “You, stop right there!”

How could Esdeath possibly stop?

However, this voice also exposed Bark’s identity.

What to do?

Bark’s speed was about two-thirds faster than Esdeath’s.

Although her physique had been slightly enhanced by hunting just now, it still wasn’t fast enough compared to someone from the Hunting Team.

The distance between the two was no more than a hundred meters; if it were a straight line, it would only take a dozen seconds for Bark to catch up to her.

Fortunately, this was a dense forest; Esdeath turned left and right, utilizing the terrain, so Bark couldn’t catch up for the moment.

Bark continued to curse from behind: “Esdeath, for every step you run, I’ll punch you once more!”

Esdeath certainly wouldn’t listen to his threats, but at this critical moment, she couldn’t help but feel flustered.

What should she do?

If this continued, she would be caught.

In her desperation, Esdeath activated the Eye of True Sight.

Suddenly, Bark’s movements became exceptionally slow in Esdeath’s peripheral vision.

She saw clearly, but…

she couldn’t move.

Her own movements weren’t fast enough; her body couldn’t keep up.

Even if she had aimed, she had no way to take out a weapon and hit him.

Just at this moment, the system appeared again: “As a qualified villain, never let go of those who have threatened you.

Kill Bark and be rewarded with the martial skill — Double Burst, which can instantly unleash double the strength or speed.”

Esdeath thought to herself, I’d like to kill him, but I don’t have the strength.

However, if she continued running at high speed, her stamina would be exhausted, and then she would have even less of a chance.

She could only gamble.

Esdeath crouched down, trembling, and shouted: “Bark, I surrender, don’t hit me!”

Three or four seconds later, Bark arrived beside Esdeath.

Furious, he kicked Esdeath, sending her tumbling halfway over.

“I’ll show you for running!”

Esdeath crawled up and crouched on the ground, acting terrified, and cried out: “I won’t dare do it again, please don’t hit me.”

“Hmph!” Bark snorted coldly.

His anger hadn’t been vented yet, so he reached out to grab Esdeath’s collar, intending to warn her before punching her a few more times to let off steam.

Just as he lowered his head and reached out, the girl beneath him, who had previously surrendered and trembled, suddenly looked up and stared straight at him.

Her pair of blue eyes were filled with indifference and murderous intent.

Bark realized something was wrong, but his movement of reaching for the young girl had left his center wide open, exposing his weakness.

Eye of True Sight!

At such a close distance, Esdeath activated the Eye of True Sight, seeing Bark’s throat clearly.

The hand holding the hunting knife behind her back suddenly struck out, stabbing at Bark’s throat.

Esdeath’s sudden eruption caught Bark completely off guard; he only had time to reach out to block the lunging Esdeath.

However, in his haste, he could only exert three or four tenths of his body’s strength.

The frail girl’s strength suddenly became unusually great at this moment; Bark was tackled to the ground, and the knife tip plunged into his throat.

He widened his eyes, never imagining until his death that Esdeath would actually dare to kill him.

Yes, although Esdeath used a little trick, combined with her special ability, what truly led to Bark’s death was that he had no murderous intent, while Esdeath had made up her mind to kill him.

Esdeath sat on the ground, panting to rest.

She looked at Bark’s corpse, and her heart was unexpectedly calm.

This was her own tribesman, but she felt absolutely no guilt or fear.

As long as someone was targeting her, she had no good feelings toward them.

When she couldn’t do anything about it, she would suppress those emotions; when she was capable of doing it, she would do whatever she wanted.

She was probably a complete villain; Esdeath thought this might be the reason the villain system had sought her out.

The system popped up again: “Kill Bark and be rewarded with the martial skill Double Burst.”

“Kill a human and be rewarded with ten villain points.”

Killing Bark could actually reward ten villain points; was this because Bark was stronger, or because he was of the same species?

Esdeath didn’t know, but she didn’t feel anything about it either.

After thinking for a moment, Esdeath added the ten villain points, five each, to her physique and strength.

Hungry.

Esdeath didn’t bother with Bark’s corpse; she built a fire beside him and ate another rabbit.

After finishing the rabbit, Esdeath went to dispose of Bark’s corpse.

She knew she couldn’t leave it here; otherwise, if the tribesmen found it, they would suspect her.

No matter which tribe it was, fratricide was a very serious crime.

Even if there was a grudge, it was usually resolved through a fair duel witnessed by everyone; this was what a true warrior did.

Behavior like Esdeath’s, if discovered, would absolutely lead to being locked in a cage.

Fortunately, her image as a weakling was deeply ingrained, so no one would suspect her of killing Bark for the time being.

Next was disposing of the body.

Esdeath threw Bark’s corpse into a nearby lake and looked at her blood-stained clothes; they were stained when she killed Bark, from his blood splattering onto her.

With such a large area of bloodstains, no one would believe her if she claimed it was from killing a rabbit or a snake.

Bloodstains are hard to clean with just water, but Esdeath had a way; she knew of a common plant whose sap could clean bloodstains.

After cleaning the bloodstains and drying her clothes, it was at sunset that Esdeath finally returned to the camp.
