Part 1
19: CHAPTER 19 A Maid Or A Slave?
Part 1 Araia’s POV
Does he really let me live?
I am now sitting in this carriage where Orlando put me- oh Orlando, I remember him…
If only they told the truth sooner then they would not meet there and that instant.
Just why did they have to lie when first of all, they are already scared of the alpha that we met.
If they are already scared of him then they must know that he is dangerous and he is cruel but why did they still lie to him.
Things would go smoothly if they are being honest.
Thankfully, I was saved by Alpha Alejandro.
I just remembered his name.
I think Orlando’s friend called him Alejandro when he greeted him.
It has been several hours since that incident happened but I’m still here waiting for the alpha to come back.
Last night when Alpha Alejandro walked towards me, he suddenly told me to live, just that one word and I got a second chance to live.
His people didn’t touch me after that, neither they are mad at me nor kind to me because they are just treating me as if I am not existing.
I also get those stairs as if they are wondering why I am still alive.
I am wondering…
I just don’t know why Alpha Alejandro let me leave but I am still thankful for that.
It is quite scary because all of them who are around me are all wolves and I am a human.
I am scared that they would notice that I am not one of them.
That is why I am just here doing what they want me to do, because I, who was given another chance by the alpha itself, has already caught the attention of the wolves around us, so I am trying my best not to stand out any more.
This place is really frightening, I want to go home.
“Alpha is looking for you.” A man in his forties came to me.
“Oh yes, thank you, where is he?”
”This way.” He guided me along the way.
I don’t know how to have a proper conversation in this kind of encounter, especially since he looks like someone who is in a high position.
He looks respected by all the wolves that we were passing by.
But who is he?
He didn’t even let me know his name…
We walked for a few minutes, we should have been there by now but because I am not used to walking on mountains where there are lots of roots of trees showing especially that those are big here that is why I had a hard time passing through it.
The old man even needed to assist me as I didn’t know how to step on it.
“I am sorry for the trouble.”
I am so embarrassed that I, a youngster, don’t know how to walk properly on a mountain.
“I am willing to help you.”
He then guided me across a pond this time.
Just how far should we go before we meet that alpha?
I almost slipped on a stone while we were passing the pan because it has a lot of moss and because the stone is slightly underwater I didn’t see its surface clearly.
And I am so embarrassed because the old man needed to assist me again.
I felt so weak…
The coat that I am wearing has gone wet on its bottom when we cross the pond.
It is a little heavy because the code is quite thick.
I think this coat was made from leather.
We stopped midway because the old man noticed that I am having a hard time moving my feet.
I am a little tired and the shoe that I am wearing is also wet, which makes it hard to use.
“I’m sorry for the trouble…”
It is like he is examining me from head to toe for what reason.
I don’t really know if I can trust him, who knows if he is going to kill me right now because we are quite far from each other.
I hope that I’m not right.
I sat quite far from him and I observed my surroundings so that I would be quick to react if something happened.
A few more minutes and he isn’t staring at me anymore.
He is now looking somewhere to the direction where we are going to go.
When I felt that I was arrested enough , I told him that we could continue our walk.
Again he didn’t say anything, he just nodded his head and continued to walk to where we were heading.
Is there something wrong about him or is it about me?
I am not really sure.
I guess I couldn’t read what he was thinking.
It is like he knows how to block his facial expressions because I couldn’t read anything on his face.
It is so hard to catch a change of emotion in him.
It is quite scary if you think about it but it should be okay, he isn’t doing anything as of this moment anyways.
There were a few more minutes before we arrived at a small tent inside the forest.
The tent is at the center of this spacious side of the forest.
There are wolves surrounding it and a few females that I think are maids.
When we arrived, the wolves in this place landed their gazes on us, especially on me.
