He came up pleading on her behalf as usual, and I asked him to get her in here so she can prove to me that she is qualified to work in this club.

He nodded nervously as he went to fetch her for me.
A few seconds after he left, the door to my private showroom swung open, and I knew it wasn’t her because he just left right now.
I was just about to yell at the intruder when I saw that it was Cameron and share.
Cameron is my betrothed, and Shane is her brother.
Shane was supposed to be the next Beta, that is my Beta.
But the laws of the lycan king made it impossible for him to be my Beta.
He did not pass the training for young Beta, and his father could not convince the lycan king to make him my Beta.
Leroy was chosen as my Beta, he passed the training and he has proven himself to be a faithful second in command.
The truth is, I’ve never felt close to Shane as I did with Leroy.
They are both my friends, and we have been friends since childhood, but there is something shady about Shane.
