It was at that moment that I knew that Mia is hurt, I had no choice, I had to scale through the window.
That is the only exit that is not under strict observation.
I’m not used to my new abilities yet, there is a lot I need to learn about my wolf, and there is so much I need to learn about our bond.
Not to mention the fact that I still have to be careful so I don’t use too much energy that could attract attention to me.
They must not know about Hunter, if they sense his powers, I’m so fucking dead.
I peeked out of the window, and when I’m sure that the coast is clear, I imputed the code on my iPad and shut down the security system, disabling all cameras and other gadgets that could be used to monitor my movement.
Before they could reboot and restore the cameras, I summons Hunter forward, and when I felt his strength coursing through me, I leaped through the window and landed on my two feet.
I almost laughed in exhilaration when I landed safely, it felt so magical, so strange.
The feeling is heavenly, I always dreamed of having a wolf, but I never thought it could be this amazing.
I would have loved to try out different things with Hunter, but I can’t afford to get caught.
So I pulled him back in and took to my heels before anyone could find me.
My aura could be detected by the king’s lycan spies, they must be on their wait already, I ran as fast as I could, going in search of Valerie.
I could not find her around, I guess she ran away after getting injured.
I followed her scent, running through different streets in search of her.
I found her hiding by a dumpster, then I witnessed something more magical than having a wolf, I saw her using her power to heal her injury, I saw the innocence in her eyes, and I knew immediately that she has no control of her abilities.
She has no idea who she is, and I’m guessing she doesn’t know about her destiny as well.
Fuck me!
Where the hell do I begin from, how do I save someone who doesn’t even know that her life is in danger.
She is so stubborn and so annoying, how on earth am I going to convince her that she needs to stay close to me so I can keep an eye on her.
It took everything in me to stop me from kissing her and claiming her right behind that dumpster.
But I had to leave as quickly as I could, I don’t know if the lycans sensed my aura, or maybe they picked up my scent along the way and followed me down to this place.
I ran off from her position, leaving her in her hiding spot.
There is a popular bar down the street, they are one of our competitors and I come here sometimes to check out their merchandise and compare it with mine.
When I was a bit far from Valerie’s position, I made my position known to my pursuers.
I knew the exact moment that they spotted me, and I let them see me as I picked a girl outside the bar and went in with her.
I got a crazy idea while I was walking into the bar with a girl in my arms.
I pulled out my phone and sent a text to Dawson, the manager at my nightclub,”One of your strippers had a fight with my betrothed at the parking lot tonight.
I need her fired immediately.” I instructed him firmly.
He knows our laws, there is no way he would disobey my orders, not after what she has done.
Tomorrow is my welcome party, and after that, I’m resuming work immediately because we have done unpaid taxes to pay to the state government and the lycan king, Gerald.
The king’s taxes are even more than the government’s, and he has given me an ultimatum to pay up or face his wrath.
I’ll be working overtime to meet up with all my responsibilities, and at the same time, I need to keep n eye on Valerie until I find a way for us to be together and break the curse placed on us by the moon goddess.
The best way to keep her close is to give her a job at my office.
She would be my personal assistant in the office, she would follow me around for all my meetings and trips abroad, I will never take my eyes away from her, not even for a second.
The trick is to force her to decide to work for me, I’ll make it impossible for her to refuse my request.
I won’t go after her, that would only draw attention to us.
They have their eyes on me, not on her.
They would only suspect anything if they see me going close to her, but if she come to me for help, they will never suspect a thing.
I spent the rest of the night in that bar, hanging out with as many girls as I could, flirting and fooling around while the silly idiots watched me from a distance.
I gave them a good show to watch and report back to their fraud of a king.
Maybe if he sees me fooling around, as usual, he will give up this idea of following around town.
I wonder what Valerie would be doing now, I can’t wait to have her around me always.
