Still Valeria’s POV”Sorry…” she yelled from up there, sounding apologetic.
I looked up and saw the sad look on her face, I couldn’t say anything to her, I could only nod my head and accept her apology.
That’s not the worst part of it, I could perceive the water on my hair and I saw some fish scales.
I realized that the water was used to wash fish.
I stink!
It smells so awful!
There is no way I’m getting that job when I look like a lunatic and smell like fish.
It’s all his fault, he made me stop at that spot when he spilled water on me.
He is bad luck to me, ever since I met him, it’s been one problem after the other.
Why on earth did I meet him, how did I get to be so unfortunate?
With tears in my eyes, I kept going forward, I refuse to back down, I refuse to go back without a job.
I know that it is virtually impossible for me to get that job but I had to try anyway.
So I walked towards the hotel building and I walked in to speak to the receptionist, ignoring the weird looks and rejection that I got from everyone since I walked into the building.
They kept covering their noses, and turning away from me, even when I got to the receptionist, she did the same thing.
She used her hand to gesture to me to move back, and even when I tried to explain what I have been through to her, she still wouldn’t listen to me.
“We cannot offer you a job in this hotel, ma’am, you… you stink so badly.
There are no more vacancies here, this hotel was sold a few hours ago to Mr.
Maverick Huntington.
We are closing down in a few days, we will resume work when the new owner wishes.
So please come back when we resume working, and try to smell better when you come back.” She scrunched her nose in disgust, beckoning on the guards to kick me out of the building.
I even tried to find out when the hotel will be reopened, but they just wouldn’t tell me.
I am so fucking pissed!
I’ve had enough!
This is all his fault!
I’ll make him pay for this!
I don’t care if he is an Alpha or even a king, he will have to give me a job or face the consequences.
I’ll kick him in the fucking balls for all he has put me through.
I couldn’t take a cab back home, no one wanted to carry a dirty, smelly passenger in their car.
I managed to get a tricycle and he charged me thrice the money I’m supposed to pay.
He wouldn’t let me step into his tricycle until I paid him in full.
As if that was not enough, I was treated the same way when I got back home.
Janelle and her parents covered their noses immediately after I stepped into the house.
The mom almost gagged, as well as her two kid sisters.
“You don’t look good, having a bad day?” the mom managed to ask me after regaining her composure.
I nodded sadly like a child that has been offended greatly.
You could see the sadness in my eyes, I was so close to shedding tears.
“Why don’t you run a quick bath and wash off all the… I mean all the… you know, the smell.
Then you can come down here so we can talk about it.” Janelle advises.
I trudged into the bathroom, got rid of my clothes, going under the shower.
I added some bath gel to the sponge and I scrubbed my body so hard that I had blisters all over.
There was nothing I could do about it, I just had to step out of the bathroom that way because I have to make plans for a certain Alpha welcome party.
I can’t possibly sleep in the bathroom, can I?
“You still stink!” Janelle spat out in my face, earning her a smack in the head from her mom.
“Awwww,” she cried out in pain, glaring daggers at me.
I stuck out my tongue at her, getting her more furious.
“But it’s true mom, she still stinks!” she complained.
“Yeah, I know.
And that’s why I’m sitting right next to you.
Your nasty Alpha is the reason why I stink this much, so I’m extending the same courtesy to you all.
You can all inhale the smell and enjoy it.” I let out angrily.
They wanted to know why I blame the Alpha for my plight, so I told them everything that happened after he splashed water on me, and they burst into fits of hysterical laughter.
“That is just a mere coincidence, Val.
The Alphas have no time for meaningless nobody like you.
No offense, Val.
But I think you are being over dramatic about it.
It’s not his fault, he is not as evil as you paint him out to be.” Janelle’s mom admonished me.
“Well, I don’t care whose fault it is, all I know is that I’m going to that party and your Alpha must give me a fucking job in his fucking company!” I asserted firmly.
“Yeah, whatever Val.
You can be a drama doll if you want to, but at least come with me to the spa and wash off that stench before you crash a party and chase out all the guests with your fowl stench!”
