Following dinner, Ari offered to help with clean-up, but they vehemently refused.
The situation prompted him to enquire about the cleaning staff.
He assumed that with such a big house and their wealth, they likely had a team on standby.
Maya played it off, saying that a five-bedroom double-story house was not that big.
She admitted that due to their schedules, they have cleaning staff come by a few days a week to maintain the house, however, they do all the cleaning when they are home.
Lana and Marissa took care of everything while Maya and Ari sat comfortably in the living room, drinking coffee.
“Ari,” Maya said, placing her cup on the table.
“Yes?”
“Did you mean what you said earlier, about always needing AP?”
His ears perked up, curious as to where this conversation was headed.
A tinge of excitement filled his chest as various thoughts came to mind.
He nodded. “It’s true. I require a steady supply of AP.”
Maya tapped her chin with her index finger. “When you first told us about AP generation, you mentioned acts that are intimate and lewd in nature, correct?”
‘Is she?’
“...That’s right.”
“Then, the AP you received from the women at Jen-Cae, would that sustain you for today?”
“...Uhm…”
Maya giggled at his surprised expression. “You thought I didn’t know? That’s adorable.”
He grinned. “Pervert.”
“Did you watch till the end?”
“I saw enough,” she said, “So? Will that sustain you?”
“Hmm...” He folded his arms and pretended to think.
“I’ll manage.”
Maya frowned. “What does that mean?” she asked. “Ari, if something were to happen to you while under my care, and I could have prevented it, Chloe would never forgive me.”
He flashed a placating smile. “I’m sorry. It wasn’t my intention to worry you.”
Maya pouted. “If you mean that, then be honest with me.”
“Alright, I’ll be honest. It’s nowhere near enough, but I will manage.”
Maya sighed. “It’s frustrating if you say it like that.”
Ari laughed. “Well, it’s my problem to resolve.”
“I won’t let it get to a dangerous level, so please don’t worry.”
Maya stared at him for a moment, then nodded. “Alright, I will trust you to handle matters on your own, but if you need anything, just ask, okay?”
Ari fought the urge to ask what “anything” really meant.
He smiled and nodded. “Got it.”
‘Let’s test the waters.’
“Oh, right. Remember what you said about having sex with strangers in your house?”
Maya raised her brow. “What about it?”
“Have you perhaps...reconsidered?”
Maya flashed an amused smile. “You don’t waste any time, do you?”
“While I understand your circumstances, Ari, my stance remains firm. You cannot generate AP in this house with strangers.”
“That’s fair. But in saying that, you’re not prohibiting me from AP generation with the people living here?”
“I know you were teasing before, but will you really be fine with it? Even if it involved both of your daughters?”
Maya crossed her legs elegantly and brought the cup to her lips.
“Everyone in this house is an adult, and you have been very transparent about what it means to get involved with you,” she said. “As long as they come to their decisions on their own, I will not get involved.”
He grinned. “Good to know.”
“And what about you?”
“What about me?” she asked. “Besides, you’re Chloe’s nephew, so-”
“You said it yourself; we’re all adults here.”
“My aunt has nothing to do with AP generation, and as you agreed, she’ll never have any knowledge of it.”
“...Well, be that as it may, it isn’t something that I can easily agree to.”
He smiled. “Fair enough.”
Maya giggled. “I didn’t expect you to give up that easily. What if I was one push away from saying yes?”
Ari smirked. “If it were that easy, you’d already be bent over the coffee table, climaxing until your legs gave out.”
Maya’s eyes widened briefly, and she shifted her legs.
She tried to be subtle, but there’s no way Ari wouldn’t have noticed.
“And, I’m not one to force the issue. Besides, when your daughters and I start generating AP, and their enraptured moans echo throughout the house, how long do you think you can hold out until your curiosity and yearning to experience that level of ecstasy consumes you?”
“Hehe...I guess we’ll have to find out, won’t we?”
“What are you guys talking about?” Marissa asked as she entered the room.
“I was about to discuss the freshman placement examination,” Maya replied.
‘Shit, that completely slipped my mind!'
"When will it be held?”
“One week from today” Maya replied.
“So soon? I thought I had more time to mess around.”
“Darling, the academy opens in ten days,” Lana said. “It’s your fault for arriving this close to the placement examination.”
‘It’s not my fault, dammit!’
“What about...Darling’s uniform?” Marissa asked, turning her face to hide her blush.
‘Right, I didn’t get one.’
Maya grinned. “I placed an order based on the sizes I noted at Jen-Cae. It should arrive before then.”
“Thanks, Maya.”
“Are you prepared for exams?” Lana asked.
“No? To be honest, I forgot about the exams.”
“Darling, how could-” Lana began questioning him, but stopped herself.
Maya sighed. “I’ll excuse you due to your circumstances, but, Ari, you really should start taking your academic life seriously.”
“Yes, of course. I have no intention of squandering the amazing opportunity you’ve given me.”
Maya smiled and nodded. “Good.”
“It would’ve been amazing if Darling could also be placed in S-Class.” Lana said.
“That’s a bit much, don’t you think?”
“What do you mean?” Marissa asked.
“Wouldn’t it be weird to have an F-Rank in S-Class?”
“Rank has nothing to do with it,” Maya remarked.
“You earn your place through the examination, so the process is fair to all.”
“Exactly. You only need a combined score of 340 points to be considered for S-Class,” Marissa remarked.
‘She makes it sound so easy.’
The placement examination consisted of two sections: Theory, and combat.
The webcomic did not depict the contents of the theory exam, but the combat section spanned multiple chapters.
He knew however, that both exams had a minimum of 200 points on offer.
Combined, meant that overall, he had to achieve a minimum of 85% for the entire placement examination to be considered for S-Class.
It was a daunting task, not something he felt compelled to achieve.
Even with his stats being level 1, Ari felt confident in achieving a passing score in combat, but as for theory however, he had no hope.
“Under normal circumstances,” Maya commented.
“What do you mean, mom?” Lana asked with a look of confusion.
“It rarely happens, but if a cadet scores the absolute maximum in one of the exams, they are guaranteed for S-Class placement.”
Lana’s expression brightened. “Really? That’s even better,” she said.
“Achieving 200 points is easy.”
Maya glanced at Ari and simply smiled.
