Round two continued immediately after.

At least, that’s what he wanted to do before the cave collapsed.

Just as Julius relished in her aftertaste, his gaze wandered away and scanned the cave, if a “cave” could still even describe his surroundings.Full novel: An Ancient Horror Has Logged In…To Steal Your Girl! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“...I may have gone overboard…”

The cavern was never small. He wouldn’t be able to fit an entire legion, but a small unit would still be able to fight effectively here.

Now, he would be grateful if he had space to stand.

Julius sighed. “...It’s like being entombed again.”

That wasn’t an exaggeration. The cavern had collapsed entirely, confining the two of them in a rocky cage.

He never noticed any changes, even as the earth itself attempted to crush them both into a pulp.

Naturally, mere pebbles wouldn’t be able to leave a scratch on him.

The rocks around them had produced a near-perfect spherical perimeter, as though an invisible force had denied their entry into the lovebirds' carnal dance of pleasure.

Normally, he would have just continued his “reunion” with Bea. After all, they’ve even done it at the bottom of the ocean just to add some more spice.

But this situation was an exception.

Julius shook the woman’s shoulder.

“Bea, wake up.”

No response.

Her eyes were open, but her consciousness had fully left.

His hand trailed down, pinching her pink buds. “Come on, you know you don’t like it when I wake you up forcefully.”

A small moan leaked out from her lips, but only out of habit.

Her arousal continued to flow freely from her lower lips.

“You leave me no choice.”

He leaned his arms back, and his red robe weaved back into existence, enveloping his body in a silky embrace. His manhood was still ready for action, but even that fact was veiled by the robe.

Then, he pointed a finger at her dazed eyes.

A bolt of red zapped at her forehead, making her whole body jerk involuntarily.

In an instant, light returned to her eyes, quickly followed by a hint of annoyance.

“Master, you better have a good reason for using that technique.” Her eyes narrowed.

The composure returned to the maid as if it never left.

“Look around,” Julius simply said.

Bea raised an eyebrow, took a quick scan of the room, and sighed.

“...That makes sense.”

Julius smiled. “See? So can you—hm?”

The maid pulled him into a hug, pressing both of their bodies together.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t to indulge in any of their desires.

Shadows drowned both of their figures in an inky embrace as they dissolved into the ground. The boulders all around them immediately crashed into their makeshift love nest, forever burying it out of sight from everyone.

When Julius opened his eyes, he saw…flickering colors.

He was standing in the middle of a room, with wooden floors and walls, illuminated by a spherical object that emitted a dim, orange light on the roof.

But that wasn’t all.

In one corner, a black box loomed on what seemed like a wooden pedestal, maybe a table, if he had to guess. The box hummed constantly at a surprisingly low frequency, with a myriad of colors pouring out of the side and strange mechanisms that showed signs of activity.

Next to it, there was a flat mirror. The reflection it produced was greatly superior to the common mirrors that he used back in Rome. Even obsidian mirrors did not compare to the one in front of him.

There were a few more objects there, like the rectangle that contained little square letters and cylindrical lines that connected all of them, but a presence materialized behind him before he could examine them further.

“Curious little things, aren’t they?”

Bea appeared behind him, her dress regaining its decency as every intimate part of her was covered, save for the cleavage that still tempted the mind.

Julius returned his gaze to the assortment of oddities.

“What are they?”

The maid exhaled. “I don’t think I can explain, nor will you be able to understand properly.”

“It’s better to just use your ability and get it over with.”

The man turned around, frowning at the idea.

“Do we really have to? Don’t you remember how I would rather listen to you all speak for days rather than invade your mind?”

She stepped forward, hugging him and pressing her curves against his body. “Don’t you remember that our body and mind are yours, so you can just drop your reservations?”

“You’ve always entered our holes, so there’s no reason you can’t enter our minds.”

A single drop of liquid trailed down her leg as if reinforcing her statement.

“Besides, I suspect that I will still need to explain everything even after you’ve seen it,” she added.

Julius held her shoulders, pulled her away, and stared deep into her crimson eyes.

“Are you certain?”

Bea smiled gently.

“I’ll be fine. Your enemies only break because they’re feeble men.”

She cupped his cheek. “And I’m your woman.”

“...”

There was no arguing that point.

With a final sigh, he nodded. “...Fine. But tell me if anything goes wrong.”

“You won’t make a mistake, but I promise.”

The maid then held his hand and dragged him across the room.

He caught sight of a bed that looked just as comfortable as the mattresses that he could create, with a few pillows that he imagined would have made him sleep for at least another ten years.

Bea sat on the bed, urging him to do the same.

When his body hit the soft cushioning, the cushion yielded and yet still supported his body easily.

“...Have the times changed so much that it is common for maids to have better living quarters than their master?”

As he breathed, a floral smell entered his nose. If he tried that back at the cave, only dust or maybe even small rats would respond.

Instead of looking guilty, Bea scowled at him.

“Master, we just got out of a collapsed cave,” she said with a flat face.

“Ah.”

“Moreover, the last time we gave you a proper resting place, you tore down Althea’s castle that she had just finished building.”

Julius smiled sheepishly. “That did happen, huh. But making me rebuild all of it by hand is too cruel of a punishment, no?”

Bea rolled her eyes and jabbed a finger at his chest. “No, it was not. Have you forgotten that Althea wasn’t mad because of a mere building? It’s because you destroyed her castle sleeping with Rin and Isolde without her.”

The man chuckled. “It’s not my fault she wasn’t there when I woke up. Actually, are you still mad that I did it with them without waiting for you two?”

She growled. “Of course! Althea and I were in such a great mood after a day in the Hanging Gardens, only to find you tangling around with the two of them surrounded by castle ruins!”

His laughter rang freely now. The sound was so refreshing and soothing that if he were in a forest, some small animals would probably flock to him.

Bea tried to retain her pout, but eventually folded and smiled as well.

Julius wiped a single tear from his eye as the last chuckle faded out.

“...I want to see them again.” He smiled nostalgically.

She held his hand, nodding assuredly. “Luckily, this era has plenty of ways to achieve that.”

“Use your ability.”

Bea gently squeezed his hand, squashing his worries away.

The man met her gaze and nodded resolutely.

He leaned forward, intending to touch foreheads with the maid.

But Bea instead pursed her lips, closing her eyes.

Julius chuckled. “That works too.”

He accepted her invitation, and kissed his woman.

In the next moment, a dark-red light radiated from his right arm.

And with every passing second, information surged into his mind like a tidal wave. He felt a splitting headache, like a hand trying to find its way out of his skull.

But two thousand years would never truly amount to anything for him.

The process lasted for a few more seconds, mostly because Julius wanted to savor her lips more.

Finally, he broke the kiss.

“Bea,” Julius called his maid.

“What the hell was that?”
