After a few seconds, Julius opened his eyes.
He leaned forward, trying to reach for the mouse.
“What are you doing, master?”
“Hm? I just want to know what’s the weirdest thing she likes—”
“Absolutely not!”
Immediately, the shadowy tendrils formed a dome-shaped barrier around the mouse.
Bea shifted her position on his lap, sitting sideways.
She cupped his cheeks with both of her hands, her eyes staring deep into his soul.
“If you ever give my computer a virus because your horny hands can’t stay still…”
“Okay, okay, I unders—wait, no, I don’t understand, but I’ll stop!”
The maid released her death grip, huffing cutely as though she didn’t just nearly dislocate his jaw.
Julius massaged his jaw, exhaling painfully. “I think your maid uniform is simply formality by now…”
She opened her mouth, but then closed it in the next second.
“You know what, that’s a good point.”
Shadows rose from the ground, slithering toward her body. The dark snakes enveloped her body, covering her until he could only see darkness sitting on his lap.
In the next moment, it unraveled, revealing the maid, or simply, the woman.
Bea had changed out of her maid uniform and instead slipped into an oversized shirt, still accentuating her killer figure and revealing her supple thighs.
At first glance, she didn’t seem to be wearing anything down there. But Julius exhaled disappointedly when he saw some fabric that resembled undergarments hiding her lady parts.
“It’s rude to sigh at your wife, you know.”
“But isn’t it unfair that I’m only wearing this flimsy robe and you’re wearing two pieces of clothing? Where’s the justice in this relationship?” He pouted exaggeratedly.
She rolled her eyes. “Ugh, fine.”
Bea returned to her earlier position, leaned back on his chest, grabbed both of his hands, and made him hug her stomach. At least, that’s what he expected until his palms landed on her full breasts instead.
“You’re kidding yourself if you think I didn’t realize your hands are inching up slowly from my stomach.”
Her softness filled his hand, still addicting even through her clothes. Julius grinned when he felt that there was no other layer of defense other than her thin shirt.
“Justice is served. But are you sure about losing your maid uniform? Didn’t you always wear it even when sleeping?”
He cupped her breasts from below as though measuring their weight.
“Yes, but what I’m currently using is very uncomfortable as sleepwear. I made it myself from the shadows, but I still can’t replicate what Severa could make,” she nonchalantly replied.
“Anyways, go back to Twitter.”
“Twitter? I thought it’s called X?”
“Debatable, but sure.”
With a pair of stress relievers in his hands, Julius returned his gaze to the monitor.
A dome of darkness still covered the mouse, but it seemed like it was still scrolling inside.
New posts entered the screen.
@DailyNews: Inside the courtroom of Neon Noodle’s messy divorce.
@TheEmpireStudios: Rapid Response 3 is coming soon to all platforms!
@VoidWalkerZ: Here’s why Crimson Pulse is an objectively better show than Soul Trigger. A thread. (1/113)
@SevenCoffeesIn: unpopular opinion: water is better at room temperature
“Wait, wait, stop scrolling so fast!”
The monitor stopped, the dome dissolving into a single tendril above the mouse.
“What’s wrong?”
Julius squeezed her left breast harder. “What do you mean what’s wrong? I haven’t processed any of them just yet!”
“...I think it’s better if you don’t think too much about them, but sure, I guess.”
The shadow returned to the first post.
“...Who is this man? Why do people care about his personal relationship?”
“He’s a streamer. He plays variety games and livestreams them to an audience.”
His hands slowed, trying to link her words to the information in his mind.
“So he’s an entertainer like Fleur?”
“...She’d really hate that comparison, but you’re technically not wrong.”
Then, his attention moved to the second post.
“Merchants,” he smiled. “But what exactly are they selling?”
She absentmindedly played with his robe. “It’s a video game. Just think of it like a modern board game for now. I’ll show you eventually, but probably only the first one because the second one was a horrible cash-grab.”
“That sounds...good?”
The third post came into view.
Julius scrunched his brows. “One hundred and…thirteen? Isn’t that basically a book?”
Bea giggled. “You don’t know how passionate some people could get when defending their fandoms.”
“Fandoms…is that another word for kingdoms?”
“...At this point, you’re not entirely wrong.”
At last, he arrived at the fourth post. The tendril quickly opened the replies as though knowing exactly which ones would give him the most brain damage.
@CanOfBeanz: isn’t that just common sense?
@LvenSeven: another lukewarm take going viral smh (pun intended)
“Oh? Looks like this one is mostly agreed—”
@RaviathanGaming: False. Ice cold water all the way.
@KevinIsIn: looks like someone’s mommy didn’t let them drink cold water
@RaviathanGaming: Sure, buddy. Go enjoy your hot water when the sidewalks are literally melting.
@Burgerwithfries: bro thinks we’re all poor and can’t afford ac
Julius blinked. “...Are they really debating…water?”
“Yup.”
“...Fascinating.”
His lips curled, excited to read more, when the shadows moved on to the next posts, sensing that he was becoming more amused than confused.
He pinched her naughty buds.
Bea moaned. “Ngh! What was that for?!”
“You know exactly what you did.”
“I was just trying to move things along!”
“Sure you do.”
She grumbled under her breath, pouting cutely. But based on how his lower robe was starting to become drenched, he knew his wife definitely did it on purpose to provoke him.
‘Looks like someone can’t wait for round two.’
Julius continued fondling her breasts, playfully nibbling her ear, and read the new post.
@SPQRoman: What do you all think Rome smelled like?
“Oh? Now this is something I can answer.”
He gently massaged her soft curves. “Beatrice, dear, can you type in a reply for me?”
“...Fine, but you better start learning how to do this.”
In his mind, his wife guided him through the square to the Twitter corner, where he officially joined the conversation.
@RandommanJulius: Most mornings? Bread. You can’t walk anywhere without encountering a few bakeries.
There was a strange feeling of satisfaction in his chest as he saw his username on the screen.
Soon, people began to respond to him.
@TenRenBen: That makes sense. It’s amazing how much that culture is preserved.
@CarteRoad: Ancient bread must’ve sucked. But I guess it’s better than nothing back then
@CaesarsGhost: (Modern) Roman here. Bread is accurate, but I would’ve accepted cigarettes, espressos, or exhausts.
“...Caesar’s ghost? How is that even—”
A reply caught his eye.
@LegionX: False. There’s a lot of evidence suggesting it mostly smells like sewage.
Julius promptly dictated his reply to Bea.
@RandommanJulius: That’s only if you lived in the wrong neighborhood. And even then, Roman sewage systems are very good.
The reply came almost immediately.
@LegionX: I find it hard to believe that an ancient civilization’s sewage system is that good when even some countries still struggle with that problem.
“...Would they believe me if I said I know from experience?”
“Definitely not.”
“Figures.”
Julius chuckled. He felt like he was back in the Forum, arguing pointlessly about random things.
But suddenly, he froze.
A reply appeared on the screen.
@wertyq: bro stop kissing rome’s ass. you’re not caesar. you’re just a virgin who has wet dreams of ancient roman pussy.
The temperature dropped instantly.
The lights above them flickered, and the floor shuddered beneath their feet.
The monitor turned off and on at irregular intervals.
When the monitor became a mirror, it reflected a feral, inhuman grin.
“...How brave.”
