I walked home after visiting the corner store to pick up the milk I forgot after picking up my groceries earlier in the day. It wasn't worth the gas to drive all the way to the actual grocery store and was cheaper to buy the milk at a higher price. My middle aged body protested like usual for walking so far and I fought through it, like I usually did.
As I walked along my street, from one step to the next, the night seemed to change. I couldn't really describe it, except to say that it was noticeably warmer and somehow thicker, if that made any sense. I also noticed the buildings I usually passed had somehow changed into warehouses.
Before I could stop and wonder what was going on, I felt something poke me hard in the back and my shirt bulged slightly. I moved it aside and stared at the six inch red claw-like thing sticking out of my belly. With a 'shluck' sound, the thing retracted and blood started pouring out of the wound. I clutched at it desperately to try and stem the flow and that's when the pain finally hit me.
“AHHHH!” I screamed and dropped to my knees on the pavement.
“I do so love it when my food screams.” A sultry voice said from behind me.
I gasped and dropped to the pavement and rolled to the side to land on my back, only to stare up at a grotesque horror. Some kind of multiform creature with a naked woman's torso, a large centaur-like body, and a snake tail hovered above me. I screamed again as loudly as I could.
“That's it! Yell to the heavens! Let the world know you'll soon be a part of Viser's growing power!” The creature praised me in a shout as loud as my scream.
My screaming trailed off at her words as the name she said struck me as familiar. This didn't catch the creature's attention as she continued to monologue about how delicious my slightly overweight form was going to be when she swallowed me whole and would devour me for my energy.
It was then I realized where I was and I took one of my blood-soaked hands and quickly drew out a pentagram and then a ritual crest on the ground with my life's blood. I was going to die if this didn't work and I had to believe that it would. My intention to live was all I could rely on right now.
I put the finishing touch on the stylized reversed 'S' with a kind of musical note on the bottom of it inside the pentagram, then I drew a circle around it and poured all of my emotions into it with a wish to live. I silently called out with everything I had and prayed that it would work.
There was a slight shattering of glass sound around us and Viser screeched. “NOOO! They're going to find me without the barrier!”
Her frantic eyes whipped around, seeing danger all around her, and then her eyes landed on me and she saw where my hand rested. She let out a loud screech and lunged at me, her massive claws set to gut me even more than she already had.
A silver blade deflected her claws at the last second and they dug into the pavement above my head.
“None of that now, monster.” A sexy female voice said and I turned my head to see the glow of a teleportation circle fade and there stood Rias Gremory, Akeno Himejima, and Koneko Toujou. It had been Yuuto Kiba's sword that had protected me. “I was called to save this man and he will be saved. Koneko, have fun.”
“Okay.” Koneko said and the white-haired girl lunged at the monster and slammed her fist into Viser's face and the creature's claws were torn out of the pavement as it flew backwards, raining chunks of debris down onto me. She gave me a blank look. “Sorry.”
“It's okay, I'm... dying anyway. What are few more bruises... going to do? Kill me faster?” I asked with a chuckle and her eyes widened.
“Yuuto, keep it busy and give Akeno time to charge up.” Rias ordered. “Akeno, finish it off.”
Akeno nodded and electricity started to build up around her fingers.
“As you command.” The blond haired young man said and blurred and his sword slashed off one of the creature's arms.
Viser screamed and clutched at her bleeding shoulder. “I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL EAT YOU ALL!”
Yuuto only smiled at it and attacked again, removing the creature's other arm and making it scream again.
Rias walked over to me and knelt on one knee. Her hand moved mine off of her summoning circle. “How did you know about this?”
“I know... about the supernatural.” I said and put my hand back over my impaling wound once more, not that it mattered. “Researched... Ars Goetia. I thought your ancestor... looked cute for a devil. She seemed to... have passed it on to you.”
Rias blushed and her hand joined mine over my wound. “This really is a fatal wound, you know.”
“I know. Lifeblood... only way to... call.” I whispered and felt myself growing faint. “Please... save me. I'll give... anyth...”

Rias Gremory, the heir to the Gremory Clan, which is one of the 72 Pillar Families of the Underworld, stared at the much older man that just fell unconscious. He had begged for her to save him and she only had one way to do that before he completely bled out. She was very hesitant to use up one or more of her valuable Peerage Pieces, however.
“You'll taint your soul if you don't complete the contract.” A stern voice said from behind her.
“Hello, Sona.” Rias said and stood up with the man's blood on her hand. “I don't suppose you'll trade me a Pawn piece or two if I use them, will you?”
Sona sighed. “Is it because he's older, fat, or ugly?”
Rias blushed at being called out about her standards and performed the spell to assess the potential of a person and almost nothing registered. “He has no magic at all, which is less than the one I've been keeping an eye on.”
“Hyoudou?” Sona asked and she nodded. “Very well. If you don't want him to help you, then complete the summoning contract and I'll trade you for him.”
“Thank you, Sona!” Rias said and knelt again, took out a normal Pawn Piece, and placed it on the man's chest. His ragged breaths let them all know he was almost dead.
A quick ritual and a single Pawn Piece later, the man's breathing evened out and the wound stopped bleeding as his body began the conversion from human into a reincarnated devil.
“He'll need a few hours of healing.” Rias said and stood up and held a hand out to Sona.
“You want to trade right now?” Sona asked, surprised.
“There's no time like the present.” Rias said and wagged her hand. “Plus, you can't really heal him effectively if he's still mine.”
Sona sighed and a Pawn Piece appeared in her hand and they did a quick transference ritual. She was now the owner of an unconscious and half-dead much older man. “Tsubaki, stay here and monitor the area. Help with the cleanup if necessary.”
“I'll do my best, president.” Tsubaki responded.
Sona stepped close to her new Pawn and cast a teleportation circle that encompassed them both. They disappeared in a flash of light.
Rias heard the crack of thunder and turned towards where the fight had just ended. She walked over to see a badly beaten stray devil and nodded. “Good work, everyone. I'll clean this up.”
A quick application of her Power of Destruction later, there was no trace of the stray devil or her severed arms.
Tsubaki helped them to magic up the damage that the fight had caused and checked out the small summoning circle that the man had used to break the barrier to call Rias Gremory. Rias and her Peerage scanned the area for any minds that had seen or heard anything about the fight and modified their memories to hide the supernatural from them.
When she was done, Tsubaki bid the other peerage goodbye and teleported back to the mansion that Sona and her peerage stayed in. A thought about what was going to happen with the new Pawn had her go to the guest room and she looked inside to see Sona trying, and failing, to cuddle up with an older man that she was clearly uncomfortable around.
“You do far too much for that lazy sloth.” Tsubaki whispered as she entered the room and shut the door.
Sona sighed and motioned to the unconscious man. “Can you help me with this? He was torn right through and I can't hold him from both the front and the back at the same time to concentrate the magic properly.”
“Of course, president.” Tsubaki said and stripped off completely, unlike Sona that still had her bra and panties on. She climbed onto the bed and helped her turn the man onto his side. “I can handle doing the front part if you want me to.”
“No, I'm the King and I should be the one to take the risk if he wakes up.” Sona said.
“Are you sure? It's no trouble for me to be the first thing he sees when he wakes.” Tsubaki offered again.
Sona thought about it and gave her Queen a long look, then sighed. “I accepted responsibility for him and I won't shirk my duty to him, even if he has no potential and is much older than any other peerage member I've ever seen or heard of.”
Tsubaki didn't argue anymore and cuddled into the man's back and placed a hand over the shredded part of his lower back and started to lightly funnel her magic into the wound. Sona cuddled up to the man's front and did the same with the exit wound, her magic flowing inside and joining her Queen's to heal the excessive damage he had suffered.
The man's budding devil nature sucked up the magic like a sponge and the wound healed at an accelerated rate with two devils helping it along. It didn't take long before both Sona and Tsubaki dozed off and their magic eased off to a slow trickle, their cuddling somehow making them more susceptible to sleeping.

I came back to consciousness and felt both sore and achy, which was much better than being dead. I had no clue how I had gone from my own world to end up in DxD and I was pretty sure I had no way of ever going back. Well, I doubted I could go back anyway, not with me becoming a reincarnated devil.
I opened my eyes and found my arms wrapped around a very snugly young woman. Instead of taking advantage of her like I easily could have, all I felt was simmering anger, because the woman in my arms was not a big-titted crimson-haired unnatural beauty named Rias Gremory that I had expected.
I closed my eyes and desperately tried to push that anger down and squashed it, because the last thing I needed was for Sona Sitri to think I was angry at her or about sharing a bed with her... or worse, her older sister that was one of the Four Satans of the Underworld named Serafall Leviathan being angry at me.
At least she's wearing lingerie. I thought as my hand cupped her perky little ass. The situation could have become really awkward with my currently erect appendage poking her belly button if she wasn't covered down there.
Sona made a little sound of protest when I slid my hand up to her hip and let her ass cheek go. Her eyes fluttered open and her lips were making a little pout, then our gazes locked onto each other and she looked right into my eyes. Her pout disappeared and her eyes widened at how close we were, as in a kiss was barely a breath away.
I couldn't resist teasing her, though. “I've died and gone to heaven.” I said and gave her lips a very light peck. “Good morning, beautiful.”
Sona's face went completely red as she blushed hard and a soft chuckle came from behind me.
“Wait, there's two angels on this cloud with me?” I asked and turned my head away from Sona and glanced over my shoulder to see her queen laying there, completely naked. I did not let my eyes roam and turned back to face Sona. “Yep, I'm in bed with fraternal twins. I really did die.”
Tsubaki laughed and sat up and pressed her bare breasts against my back as she leaned on my arm, a smile on her face. “At least you're a charmer.”
“At least?” I asked, slightly confused. “What do you mean?”
Tsubaki's smile faded and she sighed, the movement of her warm flesh on my back keeping me hard. “You only cost one Pawn Piece to reincarnate and you had no magic potential before that.”
I frowned slightly. “Just one? Not even a mutation piece?”
“You know about the Evil Pieces?” Sona asked, a slight frown forming on her own face.
“Like I told Miss Gremory when she showed up, I studied the supernatural. It's how I recreated her family's summoning circle with my blood.” I explained.
“You were dying and hoped to be reincarnated?” Sona asked.
“Not at first. I was walking along, minding my own business, then I felt a poke to my back and there was a red claw sticking out through my stomach.”
“Liver, actually.” Tsubaki corrected me.
“The Gremory symbol was the easiest to make quickly and I hoped my wish to save me worked.” I said and left my hand resting on her hip. I didn't want her to think I wanted to grope her, even though I did.
“Your wish worked and she reincarnated you.” Sona responded.
I narrowed my eyes at her not saying anything else. “She didn't heal me to save my life. You did, whoever you are.” I said, pretending that I didn't know who she was.
Sona didn't respond for a moment and her own eyes narrowed. “You don't mind holding me so familiarly without knowing my name.”
“You're beautiful, like I said. Why wouldn't I enjoy holding you closely?” I asked.
Sona blushed slightly and then her face went back to normal. “My name is Sona Sitri and that is my Queen, Tsubaki Shinra.”
“Sitri... Sitri... I know that name.” I said, without giving my own. “You're a Pillar family, too?”
Sona nodded. “Rias completed the contract and saved your life.”
“No, she gave me a band aid and handed me off to the first person she could.” I said and tried to not feel bitter about that. I wanted to play with those big breasts, dammit!
“Oh, no.” Tsubaki whispered and the color drained away from Sona's face.
“What is it?” I asked without looking away from Sona's shocked face.
“You didn't acknowledge the completed contract with her.” Sona whispered.
“What does that mean?” I asked, since it was never covered in the show or the manga. “I assumed if you and your Queen are here, then you both helped heal me and it took all night. That saved my life and I would have died, otherwise. It's you that deserve payment for services rendered, and since I promised Miss Gremory anything to do that, then you can ask me for whatever you want.”
“That's not how that works. We can't complete another devil's contract unless they allow it with another contract, essentially sub-contracting another to finish the job.” Sona explained, the color returning to her face. “I need to talk to her as soon as possible to fix this.”
“How would that work? I'm already healed and a part of your peerage.” I said and then gasped. “Wait! She kept me in hers and she still let someone else heal me? How callous is that?”
Sona had a very complicated look on her face and then sighed. “No, we traded Pawn Pieces, fair and square.”
“Immediately.” Tsubaki added, her voice slightly angry.
“Immediately.” I repeated and let out a long and aggrieved sigh. “Was I such a huge burden that she got rid of me right away?”
Tsubaki gave Sona a pointed look that I noticed out of the corner of my eye.
“Please don't say it.” Sona warned her.
“Now I have to ask about it.” I turned my head slightly to look at Tsubaki. “Please, tell me what she said.”
“I'm sorry, Sona. He needs to know the truth.” Tsubaki said and Sona nodded. “My King asked Rias if she wanted to trade you right away was because you were older, fat, or ugly.”
I looked at her with wide eyes and then turned back to look at Sona's embarrassed face. “You really called her out like that as I was dying right there at your feet?” I asked and she reluctantly nodded. I didn't hesitate as I moved that last inch between our faces and gave her a tender kiss filled with as much affection as I could fit into such a small amount of contact. My hand on her hip also gripped her a little tighter. “Thank you very much, my King.”
Sona was really blushing now and Tsubaki let out a soft laugh.
“At least someone else appreciates how much you make up for Rias Gremory's deficiencies.” Tsubaki said.
