nonono!!!

…

Rurikawa Natsuyū opened his eyes to find himself lying flat on black soil, staring up at a blue sky where crows drifted past white clouds.

He pressed a hand to his forehead, mildly annoyed.

“I’m pretty sure I picked no.”

Rurikawa Natsuyū — Tokyo University graduate in his past life, and in this one, a transmigrator reborn into a crossover anime world as the young heir of a minor noble family in the Far East.

He’d grown up from scratch, living a comfortable life without a care in the world.

Tonight, all he’d done was have a late-night crisis over nothing, when a voice suddenly appeared in his head asking him about the meaning of life.

This is the Main God Space routine.

No way am I signing up to grind for my life in that place.

(T/N: Main God Space or Lord God Dimension originated from the novel Terror Infinity)

So he’d picked no — and immediately blacked out, waking up here.

“If you were going to drag me here anyway, why even give me a choice?”

He’d been through a transmigration before, so he pulled himself together quickly and took stock of his surroundings.

First things first: no Main God Watch.

His landing point was a vast, borderless wilderness.

The horizon was composed of black soil, with towering oak trees scattered sparsely across it, their leaves lush and green, a few tips touched with yellowing brown.

Behind him stood a gate roughly three metres tall — wooden, its frame wound through with flowering vines, and at the very top, a finely crafted golden clockwork mechanism displaying the time: [8:15].

The centre of the gate shimmered with vivid, swirling colour, like a kaleidoscope twisted out of shape.

Staring at it for too long made his head spin.

Natsuyū shook his head and looked away from the strange gate, turning his attention to the unconscious girl lying nearby.

She had to be his teammate.

Short brown-gold hair, wearing a loose white home shirt and safety shorts that left her fair, soft legs on full display — a breezy summer outfit, completely out of place here.

She lay with both hands folded over her stomach, looking utterly adorable.

Her chest in particular was something else — from any angle it was impressive.

In fact, she was better developed than Natsuyū’s barely-familiar little sister, Tsubaki.

This girl… have I seen her before?

…Kushida Kikyo?

He recognised her — from the same middle school as him, the infamous “Class Destroyer,” the “Fallen Angel Who Annihilates Secrets,” the girl who single-handedly caused her entire class to stop attending school.

Kushida Kikyo.

After creating that kind of legend, she’d never returned to school, becoming the greatest unsolved mystery in the middle school’s history.

It was Kushida Kikyo, more than anyone else, who had made Natsuyū realise the world he lived in was a multi-anime crossover.

After that, he’d gone down a deep rabbit hole researching online, and found that alongside the Rurikawa family, there were other schools too — Koudo Ikusei Senior High School (Classroom of the Elite), Sobu High (My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected), and places from The Empty Box and Zeroth Maria, and more.

“Never thought I’d have nothing to do with her back in middle school, and yet here she is, my teammate.

She doesn’t seem like much though.

No idea when she’ll wake up.”

Natsuyū delivered the absent veteran’s verdict on her behalf:

You are the least promising recruit in this batch.

And another thing — where was the big glowing orb to guide him through all this?

Main God Space, you’re nowhere to be found.

Where the hell are you hiding?

He realised this wasn’t the Main God Space.

There was no Main God to guide him.

All he could do was stay alert, survey his surroundings, and wait for Kushida Kikyo to wake up.

Then, out of nowhere, Natsuyū spotted something in the corner of his vision — a yellow exclamation mark.

My cheat ability finally kicked in?!

His eyes widened slightly, a smile creeping onto his face.

So transmigrators really did come with cheat abilities.

He just hadn’t gotten his yet — it simply hadn’t arrived until now.

The moment he focused on the yellow exclamation mark, it expanded across his vision, unfolding into a familiar-looking inventory screen.

On the left were his character stats:

[Natsuyū: Level 0 (EXP 0/10)

Physique: 0.9 (Healthy adolescent boy)

Soul: 1.3 (High mental fortitude)

Charisma: 1.3 (All creatures: Hostile)

(Average healthy adult baseline = 1)]

On the right was his inventory — or rather, his backpack.

[Equipment: None

Backpack slots: None]

Natsuyū stared at the familiar-looking panel in disbelief.

Minecraft?!

[Ding!]

[Congratulations on unlocking the achievement “Open Inventory”!

Shout the incantation “I opened my inventory!” out loud to claim your rewards: Resource Gathering, EXP +10.]

The moment he saw the achievement, a stream of knowledge poured into his mind on its own:

“Resource Gathering” — the ability to collect all kinds of resources through bare hands or tools.

Natsuyū looked down at his hands.

W-wait.

Did he transmigrate into the game itself, or did he just inherit the game’s rules?

Does this mean he can punch blocks with his fists from now on?

“The incantation…”

He glanced over at the still-unconscious Kushida Kikyo, cleared his throat softly, and said under his breath:

“I opened my inventory.”

Nothing happened.

He took a deep breath.

Really?

He has to shout it out loud?

Do something this embarrassing just to get a reward?

Fine.

You want cringe?

You’ve got cringe.

Natsuyū had a decent amount of shamelessness, but he still cared about his image.

The last thing he wanted was to lose the plot in front of someone else.

Whoever designed this system clearly had a twisted sense of humour.

But in a place like this, getting his hands on some kind of ability was the only way he’d feel settled.

Thankfully, Her Ladyship the “Fallen Angel Who Annihilates Secrets” hadn’t stirred yet.

Good.

Natsuyū steeled himself and shouted:

“I opened my inventory!”

[You have received: Resource Gathering, EXP +10.]

He felt nothing dramatic — no surge of warmth flooding his body, no glowing aura appearing around him like in those web novels.

But somewhere deep down, he just knew, with absolute certainty, that with his own two hands, he could gather any resource the world had to offer.

[You have unlocked the “Basic Achievement Tree.”]

[Basic Achievement Tree:

Open Inventory → Get Wood → ?]

[You can unlock hidden achievement trees through exploration and discovery.]

Natsuyū felt a wave of familiarity wash over him.

Isn’t this just Minecraft’s advancement system?

Is this place actually Minecraft?

[Level Up!

Free attribute point obtained.

Please allocate.]

He looked to the left side of his inventory.

[Natsuyū: Level 1 (EXP 0/15)

Free Attribute Points: 0.1]

The 10 EXP from completing his first achievement, “Open Inventory,” had been just enough to push him from level 0 to level 1.

Only 0.1 stat point per level — felt a little stingy.

But then again, a healthy adult’s baseline was only 1 point across all three stats.

That 0.1 was actually significant.

He studied his three stats and thought it over.

Physique.

It covered Strength, Constitution, Agility and more — the foundation of everything.

No need to explain why it mattered.

Soul.

The description said “mental fortitude.” Likely his resistance to illusions and psychic attacks.

Charisma.

The description said “all creatures: hostile” — and that carried the most information.

There were other creatures in this unknown world.

And with enough Charisma, those hostile creatures could become neutral — they’d stop attacking him on sight.

Push it high enough, and they might even turn friendly, willing to help him.

But right now, Physique was clearly the priority.

A good body wasn’t just about combat.

Out here in the wilderness, just staying healthy and not getting sick was reason enough to invest in it first.

Alright — full points into Physique.

Let’s go.

Author’s Note:

Just to set expectations:

In every world featured in this story, the male lead of that world does not exist by default.

Rurikawa Tsubaki has no blood relation to the protagonist — she is a purely adoptive little sister.
