Kaguya Shinomiya pushed her chair back, intending to intervene.
But before she could even take a single step toward the rear exit of the classroom, Asagiri suddenly accelerated.
His casual stroll shifted into a predatory sprint.
By the back door, a male student loitered with a brimming water cup.
His head was bowed in a feigned display of distraction, his entire posture coiled and waiting for the perfect moment to ‘accidentally’ collide with Asagiri and douse him.
A heavy thud echoed through the room.
The humiliating spectacle Kaguya had anticipated never materialized.
Instead, Asagiri slammed into the boy with the force of a freight train.
The ambusher let out a sharp cry of pain, his balance shattering instantly.
Feigning utter shock, Asagiri reached out as if to catch him.
His hand shot forward, clamping like a vice around the boy’s wrist—the exact wrist holding the open cup.
With a brutal, fluid twist, Asagiri inverted the boy’s arm, dumping the entire volume of freezing water directly over the ambusher’s own head.
Then, he simply let go.
The boy crashed onto the linoleum, a pathetic, dripping mess.
Asagiri stared down at him, his tone dripping with mock solemnity.
“Oh dear.
You really are careless, aren’t you?
Walking around without watching your step, and with an open cup no less.
It’s a good thing you bumped into me.
If you had spilled that on anyone else, you’d be forced to apologize.
Since I’m so forgiving, you don’t have to apologize at all.
So, where is my thank you?”
A delicate smirk tugged at Kaguya’s lips.
Even with her ironclad emotional control, she nearly let out a laugh.
She had seen it clearly.
Just before reaching the door, Asagiri had dropped his center of gravity, coiling his muscles like a sprinter at the starting block.
It was a calculated strike.
How else could he have floored a high school boy so effortlessly?
The water, too, was no accident.
He had weaponized the boy’s own trap.
He had spotted the ambush from a mile away and decided to play along just to break the kid.
But seeing a trap was one thing; executing that flawless, violent counter required terrifying reflexes.
Kaguya’s crimson eyes narrowed.
So, there is a genuinely capable monster among the new students this year…
“You…
you bastard…” the drenched boy sputtered, shivering on the floor.
“Still no thank you?” Asagiri smiled, taking two slow, deliberate steps forward.
He tilted his head, his voice dropping to a soft, dangerous pitch.
“Utsunomiya-san.”
The cold, flat voice of Class A’s homeroom teacher, Ashikaga Miwa, cut through the tension.
She stepped into the doorway, her gaze sweeping over the dripping boy on the floor before settling on Asagiri.
Her expression remained entirely blank.
“Come to the office with me,” she ordered.
Asagiri shrugged, his relaxed demeanor returning instantly.
He stepped over the boy and followed Ashikaga down the corridor, leaving behind a crowd of stunned onlookers and one thoroughly humiliated student.
“Damned freak…” the boy hissed, slamming his fist against the floor.
“Next time…
next time I’ll definitely—”
“I strongly advise against entertaining such thoughts.”
The boy froze.
He looked up, meeting a pair of glacial, emotionless red eyes staring down at him like he was an insect.
“Shinomiya…
Kaguya…”
“I do not care about your fragile ego, nor whatever petty vendetta you specialized course students are nursing,” Kaguya said, her voice a silken blade.
“But this is my classroom.
You will not do anything that disrupts my environment.
Do you understand?”
“I…
I understand.”
As the eldest daughter of the Shinomiya conglomerate, Kaguya stood at the absolute apex of Shuchiin Academy’s social hierarchy.
The current chairman of the academy was Oko Shinomiya, her older half-brother.
To defy her was to defy the gods of this school.
“Good.
I am glad we have an understanding.” Kaguya offered a hollow, chilling smile, then turned on her heel and walked away.
Slipping a hand into her pocket, her fingers brushed against her smartphone.
A shadow of complexity darkened her eyes.
Right now, I simply do not have the time to entertain such boring matters…
Further down the corridor, as Asagiri strolled alongside Ashikaga, a familiar face stepped out of the Class B classroom.
Yuuki Asuna had been waiting to catch him.
Seeing him flanked by a teacher, Asuna blinked in surprise, her steps faltering.
“Utsunomiya-san…
um, is this a bad time?”
“It’s not a matter of convenience.
Ashikaga-sensei just wants to have a little chat,” Asagiri replied with an easy smile.
He glanced sideways at the teacher. This chapter is updated first at g.com.
“Sensei, this is an acquaintance of mine.
Mind if she tags along to the office?”
Ashikaga didn’t even break her stride.
“Do as you wish.”
“Perfect.
Come along, Yuuki-san.”
Asuna fell into step beside them, utterly bewildered.
She had only wanted to pull him aside to discuss the horrors of that survival dungeon.
Why was she suddenly being dragged into a disciplinary meeting?
And as for why he was in trouble?
That was hardly a mystery.
Over the morning break, rumors had spread like wildfire through both the high school and junior high divisions.
Everyone was talking about the new Class A transfer student—a boy with striking looks, a hyper-aggressive personality, and an inexplicable talent for playing the kazoo.
He had achieved absolute infamy on his very first day.
Asuna was slightly in awe of the sheer chaos he generated, but another detail bothered her more.
Asagiri, just like her, was a mixed-school student who had only enrolled today.
How on earth did a mixed-school transfer get placed directly into the elite Class A?
It defied all logic.
When they finally entered Ashikaga’s office, Asuna stopped in her tracks.
This was nothing like a standard faculty room.
There were no cramped, shared desks or stacks of ungraded papers.
Instead, it resembled the executive suite of a major corporation, complete with a sprawling solid wood desk and a plush, black leather sofa.
This Ashikaga-sensei is definitely not normal…
Asuna thought, eyeing the opulent room.
She has this massive space all to herself…
Ashikaga moved behind the heavy wooden desk and took her seat, gesturing vaguely toward the wide leather sofa.
“Sit.
Would you care for something to drink?
Black tea, coffee, or perhaps juice?”
Asagiri waved a hand dismissively and threw himself onto the sofa, sprawling out with zero regard for decorum.
“Don’t bother,” he said, his tone dry and commanding.
“I have actual things to do later, so let’s make this quick.
I’d hate for you to waste my time.”
