“Is someone else nearby?”
Hearing Medea’s report, Surtr was surprised, but not so surprised.
The commotion they caused was so big that it wouldn’t be strange even if one or two groups noticed.
“Describe their characteristics.”
“Three people. The Servant looks like a hairy red-haired gorilla; as for the Master, a man in a black suit with long hair; and a suspicious fellow wrapped in a gray robe. I didn’t dare get too close, otherwise I’m afraid I would be discovered by them.”
“That’s enough.”
Surtr thought in her heart.
The red-haired gorilla was Iskandar, the Master was Waver, and the fellow in the gray robe was definitely Gray.
The Rider group she had been yearningly searching for all afternoon actually turned up here.
And the Master was actually Waver, the guy who gave up the Fifth Holy Grail War was actually here again.
Not only did he come himself, but he also brought a disciple.
This was not good news.
Iskandar was already a very tricky enemy by himself, and now Gray, who could use the holy lance, was added.
If a real fight broke out, even the Berserker in front of her might not necessarily be able to beat them.
But on the bright side, at least he didn’t move the entire El-Melloi Classroom over; he was still somewhat restrained.
“Master, should the operation continue?”
Medea asked in her heart.
“They most likely won’t watch idly as we obtain Berserker.”
The opponent didn’t know Medea’s Noble Phantasm, nor did they know Illya’s identity.
But their idea of wanting to attack the Master was not hard to guess.
As long as they could get the Master’s Command Spells, they could completely force a contract to be forged, especially for a mindless monster like Berserker.
Surtr was already an out-of-specification contestant; how could they watch idly as she acquired another Servant?
What would happen next could most likely be predicted.
It’s a bit troublesome.
After all, if assassination couldn’t succeed on the first try, its subsequent effect would be greatly reduced, and Medea wasn’t any professional assassin.
Should they give up?
But having fought for so long, it was obviously hard to be reconciled if there were no results at all.
If they couldn’t obtain Berserker, then…
“Mn… Plan continues.”
Surtr didn’t dwell on it for long.
“However, just to be safe, a backup plan is needed.”
“How bold, but understood, Master.”
Responding in her heart, the robed figure appeared in the alley.
This position was the limit; walking any further would definitely lead to being discovered.
Those two birds had to be dealt with first.
Medea’s gaze crossed the street and fell on the white-haired girl standing unashamedly by the roadside.
Beside her, two art-like familiars woven from hair were floating by her side, guarding the surroundings.
Should it be said as expected of the lesser grail, this amount of magic energy was completely incomparable to ordinary magicians?
And getting closer revealed that the other party’s body was connected to the ley lines of this city, able to obtain a nearly endless supply.
It could be said to be limited infinite magic energy.
Normal Masters meeting her would probably only be chased and beaten.
However, in Medea’s view, the other party’s magic level still had room for improvement; although much better than ordinary magicians, it was still too rigid, just like copying textbooks.
This was probably the drawback of being a homunculus.
Medea made an evaluation of the girl before her, her gaze falling further away.
That was the battlefield of Berserker and Surtr.
The girl wrestled with the giant; although their figures differed vastly in size, the girl was always handling it with ease.
Although she had known it for a long time, her own Master really was a monster, actually fighting evenly with Heracles.
Medea naturally recognized Heracles, after all, he was the most legendary hero of that era.
Even though he was weakened quite a bit after turning into a Servant, he still possessed the power to sweep through the entire Holy Grail War.
Dealing with such a fellow, direct attack was undoubtedly unrewarding and arduous.
If she had the venom of the Hydra, perhaps it would work, but even Medea had no way to conjure that thing out of thin air.
Thinking thus, Medea reached out her arm from beneath the black robe, a sharp dagger shaped like lightning being held in the palm of her right hand.
“Sigh, even though I’m Caster, why am I doing this kind of Assassin work.”
With a light sigh, Medea held the dagger in front of her chest and said to Surtr in her mind.
“Ready, Master.”
A simple response.
Surtr’s aura abruptly changed.
It was like transforming from a spiritless corporate slave who wanted to get off work early into a winner in life who had just won the lottery and fired their boss on the spot.
Although having lost reason, beast-like intuition still allowed Berserker to perceive the change in the enemy before him.
Like a beast demonstrating against an enemy, a fierce roar came from its mouth as it fiercely swung down its greatsword.
Shattered stones blasted in all directions, the concrete-paved road broke, and the underground soil was forced to churn up.
But obviously, this powerful strike missed.
The next moment, a small shoe stepped onto the center of the greatsword.
The immense force inconsistent with her appearance made the stone greatsword sink a few more inches, and at the same time, the blade of the flame sword pressed against the giant’s chest.
Light and heat converged upon the blade.
Converging, then radiating outward.
“The first one.”
A murmur came from her mouth, and immediately afterwards, dazzling fire burst forth with the two of them as the center.
Berserker’s upper body was dissolved almost in an instant, and the powerful defense brought by Twelve Labors did not block this long-planned strike for him.
Heat waves and shockwaves spread outward, the roadside trees on both sides were ignited by the flames, and before long they were burned bare.
The sudden change in the battle caught everyone off guard.
Surtr, who had always been passively defending, suddenly burst out and directly counter-killed Berserker; the reversal was so fast that it seemed completely unreal.
The silver-haired loli watching from afar opened her mouth.
She was indeed shocked once again, not expecting that fellow claiming to be a Stand User to actually possess such strong power.
But it was just for that single instant.
So what if one of Berserker’s lives was killed?
The resistance of Twelve Labors would gradually accumulate as the damage healed, and she no longer had a second chance.
“Kill her, Berserker…”
Illya’s voice came to an abrupt halt, and magical energy fluctuations came from behind.
Unconsciously turning her head back, a black-robed figure was reflected in her ruby-like pupils.
The figure abruptly appeared from the magic circle, holding a lightning-shaped dagger in her extended right hand.
Medea thought in her heart.
The dagger fell.
