What is the meaning of war?

If one must define it, one can only say that this behavior is an act of collective violence against each other.

Or to be more precise, war is the highest form of struggle for resolving contradictions between political groups, nations (Tribes), states (alliances), or even families.Full novel: Artoria Wants to Understand the Human Heart — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

It is always accompanied by blood and death.

Like a midwife birthing a new order, it always breaks the old status quo.

The word ‘war’ is simple to say, but the meaning behind it is incredibly heavy.

With King Arthur’s command, all of Britain slowly awakened like a sleeping dragon.

Armies, provisions, weapons.

The entire country began to rotate like a wound-up spinning top.

However, Artoria had never actually experienced war.

Because in her previous life, she had always lived in a peaceful era built by the blood of ancestors, and although she had experienced countless battles in this life, those were not wars.

Although she was a bit overwhelmed at first, Artoria picked it up very quickly.

Fortunately, this time troops were being sent under the name of support.

It must be said that as the party being supported, Scotland reduced a large part of the pressure for her.

This was a great opportunity, and Artoria greedily absorbed the experience.

For the somewhat inexperienced King Arthur, she could learn a lot from this war.

Orders were issued one by one, and documents were sent out one after another.

In less than three weeks, the British army was ready to go.

Normally, as the King of a country, she should have stayed behind to oversee things.

However, this was, after all, the first major war since King Arthur’s coronation; she needed a victory to consolidate her position among the surrounding nations.

Therefore, she had to create momentum for herself.

If the King personally led the campaign, it would not only reassure the people and boost the army’s morale but, more importantly, it would also project Britain’s national power.

Furthermore…

She did not plan to stay with the army the entire way, as the domestic political affairs were simply too busy.

Artoria had only been in power in Britain for a year; although she held power, her foundation was still quite shallow.

She planned to hand over command of the army to Kay later and then secretly return to the country.

Perhaps as news of her leaving the capital of Britain to fight abroad spread, some of the ill-intentioned clowns within the country would lose their patience and jump out on their own.

When that time came, she could perform a bit of ‘fishing’ enforcement and catch the turtles in a jar.

Additionally, Artoria did indeed want to personally meet the King of Scotland, because some matters were better discussed by her in person.

Standing by the window, Artoria’s gaze fell upon the people outside who were busy with war preparations; her gaze was deep, and her thoughts were heavy.

Behind her, Bedivere checked the time and then stepped forward to remind her.

Withdrawing her gaze from the window, Artoria gave a slight nod, indicating she understood.

Today was the day the army departed.

According to the plan, she would lead the army out of the capital before the eyes of all its citizens.

This was part of creating momentum, aimed at increasing the confidence of the people.

Arriving at the military camp, she stood on the high platform and looked over her army.

Seeing them clad in armor, well-trained and lined up in formation, quietly waiting for her command.

This scene made Artoria’s heart swell with emotion.

Expanding territory, fighting on the battlefield, and ruling over the world—these were dreams that every boy once possessed.

Although this body was no longer ‘him’, it still couldn’t stop the excitement in Artoria’s heart.

In order for her voice to be heard clearly by every soldier, she used her own magical energy to cast an amplification spell.

“All troops, march!”

With her command, the future world-renowned British army made its first appearance.

…

Half a month later, in the palace of Scotland.

A middle-aged man dressed in knight’s armor knelt on one knee before the King of Scotland to report.

“Your Majesty, the British army has arrived within our borders and has now settled in a small town at the border.”

“They’re already here?

They moved quite fast.”

The King of Scotland, who was past the age of forty, finally showed a trace of a smile on his face, which had been gloomy due to the setbacks in the war.

“With Britain joining the fray, it looks like it won’t be long before we can turn the tide of the war.”

The King of Scotland let out a long sigh of relief, thinking that there was finally some good news recently to lift his spirits.

Suddenly, as if remembering something, he turned his head and asked the knight kneeling before him, “I heard that King Arthur has also accompanied the army to Scotland?”

“Yes,” the knight replied upon hearing this.

“King Arthur is currently at the border.

In my opinion, it shouldn’t be long before Britain submits a formal letter of greeting to Your Majesty.”

This was true.

Scotland and Britain were allies, and now, to support Scotland, the monarch of Britain had personally led the army into Scottish territory.

From any perspective, as the host, Scotland had to properly entertain King Arthur.

However, since King Arthur had traveled thousands of miles to Scotland, it was only reasonable and proper for them to personally invite King Arthur to the palace.

How could they wait for King Arthur to send a formal greeting first? This chapter is updated first at g.com.

After pondering for a moment, the King of Scotland gave an order to the attendant beside him.

“Go get some pen and paper; I want to personally issue an invitation to King Arthur of Britain.”

“As you command, Your Majesty.” In no time at all, the attendant returned and presented the items he had requested.

The King of Scotland lowered his eyes slightly and began to write.

[By the grace of Heaven, the King of Scotland extends greetings to the great and invincible King Arthur.

Peace be with you, my respected friend.

I have heard that you and your army have already arrived in Scotland, and I am very happy about this.

I thank you once again for accepting Scotland’s request to come and support us; your magnanimity and kindness are truly like those of a hero from the epics.

To express my gratitude, I hope the great King Arthur will accept my invitation to come to the palace of Scotland.

I will do my utmost to host and entertain you here.

May our friendship last forever.

I pray that the gods bless Britain with lasting peace.

Yours sincerely, the King of Scotland.]

After writing the last word, the King of Scotland set down the pen, picked up the paper filled with writing, and blew on it gently.

He raised his eyes and checked the letter from beginning to end once more.

When he was certain there was nothing left to add, he folded the letter, placed it into a prepared envelope, and raised his hand to affix the seal symbolizing the Scottish royal family.

After doing all this, he handed it to the knight who had been waiting on the side.

“Deliver this to King Arthur as quickly as possible.

There is no need to rush back; it will not be too late to return after receiving a reply.”

“As you wish, Your Majesty.” The knight respectfully took the letter with both hands and turned to leave.

Watching the knight’s retreating figure, the King of Scotland closed his eyes wearily.

Recent state affairs had truly exhausted too much of his mental energy; he had not had a proper rest in a long time.

In less than ten minutes, the King of Scotland, who had closed his eyes to rest his spirit, forced himself to perk up.

He spoke again, asking the attendant: “Where is Guinevere now?”

“Replying to Your Majesty, Her Highness the Princess is currently in the park admiring the flowers.” This answer was exactly as expected, so he commanded: “Have Guinevere come to see me.”

“As you command, Your Majesty.” The attendant bowed and, having received the order, went to find the Princess.

It did not take long before the jewel of the nation, of whom Scotland was so proud, arrived before the King of Scotland.

She was an extremely beautiful young girl, with long, smooth black hair and a pair of deep blue eyes.

Her skin was as white as snow, and her eyes were like clear springs.

As she glanced around, she possessed an elegant and noble temperament that captivated people, making them feel inferior and afraid to show any disrespect.

“Good day, Father.” Bowing in a curtsy, Guinevere offered her greetings to her father.
