Arya’s POV”Mum, why are you crying?” Chamberlin wiped a tear from my eyes and I chuckled.
“It’s nothing honey” I smiled as I cleaned my face.
Chamberlin didn’t look convinced.
“Was it what I said?” he probed further.
I took it into my arms and began to tickle him.
He fell over with laughter.
“Yes, it’s what you said,” I said laughing.
“I’m sorry” he smiled when our laughter had quieted down.
“You don’t have to be” I replied.
“I sniffed and wiped a tear off my eyes.
“Come on, let’s get the food before it gets cold,” I said.
Just as we were about to begin, I felt some presence behind me.
I turned immediately and almost jumped.
There were two hefty-looking men behind me.
They didn’t say a word or do anything.
They just stood there like trees.
Chamberlin gasped as he leaned into me.
I stared at my son, anger burned through my heart.
“What do you want?” I asked.
“I’m sorry ma’am but we were asked to stand here,” one of them said.
“What?
Who did that?
Who asked you to?”
”The Alpha the other one replied.
My son was now looking at me.
He couldn’t look elsewhere.
Watching my once-bubby boy now cower in fear made my heart crumble.
Immediately I sprang up like one that had been stung by a bee.
“Mum” Chamberlin called out.
‘Come with me sweetheart” I grabbed his hand, leaving everything behind, and I marched to the Alpha’s chambers.
Today I would tell Chase that he could get my head ripped off and I didn’t care if he reacted to them or not.
“Don’t touch me!
What do you mean you don’t know me?
” I glared at the man as I removed my sunglasses from the top of my head, stepping back.
The guards there didn’t even spare me a glance.
On getting to Chase’s chamber, I am told that I cannot see him because I am not of a high rank or something.
This got to my head and my eyes almost watered.
It reminded me in a thousand and one ways, that I am still a wolf less a wolf.
An Omega.
The lowest-ranking wolf in the whole of lycanthropy.
I turned to my son, and it looked like he was going to cry.
As we stood there, some maids walked past us.
They were staring at us and giggling.
I looked at my dress and that of my son.
It didn’t look like we were dressed in rags.
It was when they were leaving that I heard the derogatory comments, they were making.
Saying that I thought I was special that even after Chase had marked me, I still didn’t want to be his Luna.
Now a young girl who had caught his attention was in town.
They said he spent most of his time with her and now he has left me.
I felt insulted by those words.
Never in my life, did I want to be Luna of his pack or anything.
I was forced to come here.
I felt a hand on my dress and I looked down.
“Let’s go home mum” Chamberlin muttered.
I can’t wait to get you alone.
The things I would do to you.
I would work you so hard…that you wouldn’t be able to feel your legs.
I read the text and rolled my eyes.
Kelsi was at it again.
When I couldn’t get across Chase till the next day, Kelsi came over to my room and begged that I forgive her.
I sighed and hugged her.
Dramatic as ever, she shed some tears and we made up.
The next day, she woke me up saying I should accompany her to the mall to get Angus a gift.
Kelsi smiled goofily.
“Oh please get your stuff, let’s go home”
“Oh I’m so sorry, please get me these two” Kelsi smiled as she pointed to a men’s watch and boxer briefs.
“Angus would love these,” she said”Yeah yeah” I rolled my eyes as she burst into laughter.
Tomorrow was Valentine’s Day and she had been saving up, to get him something.
They had agreed to meet tomorrow.
They’ve been dating for a week and if they kept going at this pace, she would be the one doing the proposing.
“Thank you,” she said smiling at the cashier as she paid.
Walking out of the mall, she turned to me.
“What do you think?” she asked grinning.
“I swear if you smile like an idiot one more time, I’ll smack you in the head,” I said.
Kelsi burst into laughter.
I joined her.
“So Kels, are you done shopping?
Did you get those things that?” I asked.
Kelsi laughed.
“I tried, the things I want are way above my budget but I did him something.
I guess I’ll have to save up.
I would get that as a birthday present for him.”
My first reaction was to tell her to slow down but I decided otherwise.
“Aww, you are so sweet.
I bet Angus is a lucky guy.”
”Nah I am the lucky one.
The way he makes me feel….
It’s so magical” Kelsi said.
I rolled my eyes.
“There we go again.” And she began to giggle like a schoolgirl.
“So that reminds me, why don’t you get your baking ingredients at the opposite mall, since you are close,” she said.
I was going to make a cake for Chamberlin tomorrow but the cake ingredients were not enough.
“Yes that is true, I almost forgot.
I never knew your brain still works” I said and she hit me playfully on the arm.
We finished at the mall and headed home.
Just as we were about to enter the palace, Kelsi gasped.
I turned to her and followed her eyes.
My jaw went straight to the floor.
Angus was kissing a girl like he was trying to win a sword fight.
