The sound of slaps echoed relentlessly, the palace floor now speckled with drops of blood.

Leng Yue stood to the side, visibly distressed. She couldn’t bear to see her dear Lin Xiuran humiliated in such a way.

“Holy Son! Stop! I beg you to stop! Don’t hit him anymore!”

Leng Yue’s voice trembled as she pleaded, holding back tears. Once so proud and aloof in front of the Holy Son, she now endured the humiliation to plead on Lin Xiuran’s behalf.

But Su Mo remained indifferent, his face devoid of any sympathy.

He ignored her completely.

Why would he stop when he hadn’t yet finished draining Lin Xiuran’s fortune?

In mid-air, Lin Xiuran saw his childhood sweetheart pleading for him, lowering herself before the Absolute Void Holy Land. His heart twisted in agony.

“Yue’er… don’t beg him!” Lin Xiuran mustered all his strength to shout, coughing up blood with every word he uttered.

Leng Yue couldn’t just stand by and watch her Brother Lin be beaten within an inch of his life. Her eyes flashed with resentment, and she clenched her teeth as she declared, “Holy Son! If you let him go, I’ll do whatever you ask of me!”

Lin Xiuran, hearing these words, felt his heart shatter.

His beloved had humiliated herself for him.

This was a wound to his pride as a man, a disgrace he couldn’t accept.

Moreover, Leng Yue’s words were as good as throwing herself into the Absolute Void Holy Land’s trap!

Lin Xiuran knew all too well the Holy Son’s intentions toward Leng Yue.

At this moment, Su Mo noticed that he had extracted about one-tenth of Lin Xiuran’s golden fortune and could no longer siphon any more.

“So, this is the limit…”

Though slightly disappointed, Su Mo remained calm.

With Leng Yue’s heartfelt plea hanging in the air, Su Mo finally relented. “Very well. Join me for tea tonight, and I’ll let him go.”

“Fine! Just stop this madness and release him!”

Leng Yue agreed without hesitation, biting her lip to suppress her resentment.

Hearing his childhood sweetheart agree, Lin Xiuran’s face contorted with anguish. His emotions—grief, rage, humiliation—clashed violently within him.

Lin Xiuran spat a mouthful of blood, overcome by anger and his pre existing injuries, and collapsed unconscious.

Thud!

The Right Guardian stopped his assault.

Lin Xiuran fell to the ground like a lifeless pig, unmoving.

“Brother Lin!”

Leng Yue’s face paled. She rushed forward, her heart racing as she cradled Lin Xiuran, her expression a mix of worry and sorrow. Without another word, she carried him out of the palace.

…

The night in the Absolute Void Holy Land Holy Land was enchanting.

As the sun set, the skies painted the land with crimson hues, reflecting on the earth like scattered embers.

Cranes soared gracefully overhead, while mystical beasts roamed below. The trees, grass, and flowers glimmered faintly under the moonlight.

Beneath an ancient towering tree on Absolute Void Holy Land Peak, Su Mo sat leisurely. Before him was a smooth stone table adorned with a tea set and two cups of tea.

He was waiting for Leng Yue.

After settling Lin Xiuran, Leng Yue, draped in her flowing white dress, walked under the moonlit sky toward Absolute Void Holy Land Peak.

At the base of the peak, she encountered a figure cloaked in dark energy. It was none other than the Right Guardian who had ruthlessly slapped Lin Xiuran earlier.

The Right Guardian greeted her with a polite smile, his demeanor completely different from his earlier ruthlessness. “Miss Leng Yue, I’ve been awaiting your arrival.”

Leng Yue’s face remained expressionless as she ignored his cordiality.

The events of the day had taught her that this man’s respect wasn’t for her but for the Absolute Void Holy Land.

Without Su Mo’s backing, such a powerful figure would never have treated her with such reverence.

“Lead the way,” Leng Yue said coldly.

The Right Guardian complied, his smile unwavering, and began to guide her up the peak.

The Peak was breathtakingly beautiful, its majesty amplified by the mystical creatures that occasionally appeared. The night only added to its mystique.

But Leng Yue was in no mood to admire the scenery. Her thoughts were elsewhere, weighed down by worry and unease.

They walked in silence for a while until they reached Su Mo’s location.

Leng Yue looked in the direction he had indicated and saw Su Mo sitting under the ancient tree.

His handsome features were illuminated by the silvery moonlight, his form exuding an ethereal glow. Purple energy swirled faintly behind him, giving him an otherworldly aura.

He seemed like a celestial being enjoying mortal pleasures, exuding a calm and elegant demeanor.

Even Leng Yue couldn’t help but be momentarily stunned by his appearance.

Truthfully, the Holy Son was unparalleled in looks and grace. If he hadn’t always acted like a sycophant, he could indeed be considered a rare gem among men.

His aloof demeanor, blending seamlessly with the serene surroundings, was enchanting, like an immortal descending to the mortal realm.

For a moment, Leng Yue found herself captivated.

But then she recalled the humiliation she had endured earlier in the day. The brief admiration she felt vanished instantly, replaced by cold disdain.

“I’m here,” she said icily.

Her voice carried a hint of defiance, though her heart was filled with unease.

She couldn’t decipher Su Mo’s true intentions.

If this had been the former Holy Son, she would’ve felt at ease knowing he wouldn’t dare force her into anything.

But the current Su Mo, with his newfound assertiveness, was unpredictable.

Having steeled herself for the worst, Leng Yue resolved that if Su Mo attempted to cross any lines, she would rather die than yield.

Su Mo, sensing her tension, glanced at her calmly. His eyes, bright and clear, reflected no malicious intent.

“Take a seat,” he said, smiling faintly.

Leng Yue walked gracefully to the table, her white dress flowing elegantly, and sat down with an air of dignity.

Though seated, she kept her gaze lowered, her lashes trembling slightly. She had no intention of speaking first.

Su Mo, unbothered by her silence, focused on the tea set before him. He poured a cup of tea and placed it in front of her, his movements unhurried and serene.

The atmosphere was quiet and still, almost peaceful.

After taking a sip of tea, Su Mo broke the silence.

“Jiang Lengyue,” he said evenly, “there’s no need to put on that face. Acting as though I owe you something is a bit much, don’t you think? In truth, you owe me more than you can imagine. You’ve simply chosen to ignore it.”

Leng Yue, unwilling to concede, shot him a defiant look and replied coldly, “I owe you nothing.”
