Lin Ting quickly waved her hand. “No, I just don’t want to disturb your sleep.”

Lu Hesheng was unconcerned. “I probably wouldn’t be able to sleep anyway.”

A faint smile curved his lips. “Don’t worry. I can suffer a little, but I won’t let my future girlfriend suffer.”

Every word he said included “girlfriend.” Lin Ting felt a pang in her chest.

She wondered which lucky girl in the future would be loved by such a man.

Lu Hesheng didn’t tease her any further. He went over, closed the door for her, and even clicked the lock on the outside.

“Sleep well, little sister. Good night.”

Lin Ting felt a little confused—was this… him guarding her?

She had expected to sleep poorly in someone else’s house, but that night, her sleep was surprisingly deep.

The next morning, Lin Ting tidied her things and quietly tiptoed into the living room, heading straight for the door to leave.

Lu Hesheng called out, “Come have breakfast. I have to head to school soon too.”

Lin Ting adjusted her steps and, with a faint, unrealistic hope, walked to the dining area.

The table was covered with takeout from a well-known fast-food chain.

Lin Ting: “……..”

Yeah… she had really imagined this young master, who usually didn’t lift a finger at home, personally cooking.

Lu Hesheng ate comfortably, and after finishing, cleared the containers with practiced ease, clearly having done it countless times.

After changing, he led Lin Ting to the underground garage.

Among the array of luxury cars, he paused for a few seconds before choosing a relatively low-key Rolls-Royce.

Lin Ting opened the passenger door and froze when her eyes fell on the dashboard charm dangling there.

It was the safety amulet she had handmade and included in his gifts when he turned seventeen.

Even now, she felt it was childish and cheap.

Yet Lu Hesheng actually used it, even hanging it in this multi-million-yuan car.

She almost reached out to touch it, memories of her past timid, awkward self flooding back.

A possessive voice rang out: “Mine. Don’t touch.”

Lin Ting immediately withdrew her hand, not daring to dwell on it further.

The car stopped beneath the Finance College building during peak class hours, and she even spotted some familiar classmates.

Lu Hesheng tilted his head. “Not getting out?”

Lin Ting suddenly remembered something and hurriedly said, “Senior, can you wait a few minutes? I’ll be right back.”

She dashed into the nearby female dormitory.

When she returned, she had a delicate tote bag, which she placed on the passenger seat:

“This is your suit jacket and handkerchief. I’ve already dry-cleaned them and put them inside.”

Lu Hesheng glanced but didn’t open it. “Fine, leave it there.”

The class was a well-known elective psychology course at Jing University, held in a large lecture hall.

Fang Zhixiao arrived just on time and immediately spotted Lin Ting. Excited, she rushed toward her to sit beside her.

But a long-legged figure beat her to it.

The man reached the seat first, tapping on the desk in front of Lin Ting.

“Junior, is this seat taken?”

Seeing his shockingly handsome profile, Fang Zhixiao instantly understood the situation.

She grabbed her bag and quickly slid into a seat further up, winking and sending Lin Ting an encouraging “good luck” look.

At that moment, Lin Ting’s phone buzzed repeatedly.

Fang Zhixiao’s messages flooded the screen:

[Sis, you smell amazing.jpg]

“Not bad, not bad. Looks like you’re learning well—Lu Hesheng even came to find you.”

[Dating Guide.pdf], [Complete Romance Techniques.pdf], […]

“Victory is just ahead. Keep working, Lin Ting!”

Lin Ting glanced at the messages, then at the calm man sitting next to her.

He hadn’t even brought a notebook, only his phone, giving no impression of taking the class seriously.

She couldn’t help asking, “Why are you here?”

Lu Hesheng raised an eyebrow. “I’m a student here too. Why can’t I be?”

Reasonable, flawless—her question now seemed almost silly.

Just then, the class bell rang.

The psychology professor ascended the podium, exchanging a few words with someone before taking out the roster for attendance.

When he read out a familiar name, Lin Ting instinctively held her breath.

“Lu Hesheng.”

“Present.” The man raised his hand, his voice hoarse from lack of sleep.

Lin Ting silently opened her laptop.

Alright, she had been overthinking. Lu Hesheng had indeed enrolled in this course.

The professor passionately began the lecture, his voice echoing through the speakers.

Lin Ting wasn’t particularly interested in psychology, only taking the course for extra credits. She often did other things during such lectures.

Lu Hesheng didn’t seem to focus either.

He stared intently at his phone, typing rapidly, clearly occupied with work.

On the screen were messages just reported by Assistant Yan:

[Young Master, here is Miss Lin’s schedule for this semester.]

[The class you just attended has already been scheduled for you.]

Lu Hesheng replied: “Alright, efficient.”

Throughout the first half of the class, Lin Ting’s peripheral vision caught him almost unmoving beside her.

She, too, focused on her computer, entering a state of flow.

During the ten-minute break, she looked over again and found Lu Hesheng asleep on the desk.

His thick black hair had a slight curl, with bangs partially covering his closed eyes.

Sleeping, Lu Hesheng seemed to have shed all his usual distance and sharpness, looking… incredibly touchable.

Lin Ting stared for a few minutes, not daring to move her hands.

Half an hour later, he woke up, yawning and rubbing his sleepy eyes, his entire demeanor exuding fatigue.

He casually glanced at Lin Ting’s laptop screen, his eyes briefly pausing on her custom list.

Speaking without mincing words, he said something shocking:

“Little sister, these stocks won’t do.”

“The fundamentals are risky. If you buy now, you’ll probably lose money.”
