Beast Sovereign - A New Journey Begins (Volume 2)

Darkness erupted from the palace tower.

It spread across Asteria like black lightning, connecting the forty-eight hidden Void Crystals beneath the city.

Purple pillars of light pierced the sky.

The people cried out in fear.

The Codex opened.

Crisis Event

The Web of Shadows

Void Crystals Active:

48

Time Remaining:

1 Hour 57 Minutes

Objective:

Destroy every crystal before the ritual is complete.

Failure:

The capital will become the first Void Citadel.

Captain Rowan tightened his grip on his sword.

"We don't have enough soldiers."

"Even if every knight searched..."

"...we'd never reach all forty-eight in time."

Silence fell.

Then Kael stepped forward.

"I know where they are."

Everyone turned toward him.

"I helped build this network."

"I believed it was meant to protect the kingdom."

His voice was heavy with regret.

"Malakar lied to me."

Pyron smiled.

"Then you'll help destroy it."

Kael nodded.

"This is my responsibility."

The Codex projected a glowing map over the courtyard.

Forty-eight crimson lights pulsed throughout the capital.

Lyra studied it carefully.

Then another idea struck her.

"We don't have to fight alone."

She looked at Prince Leon.

"Can you gather every Beast Keeper in the city?"

The prince blinked.

"The sanctuary keepers?"

"Yes."

"And every animal able to carry a message."

Within minutes, hawks, falcons, messenger wolves, and royal griffins filled the palace courtyard.

The rescued griffin cub chirped happily as it landed on Lyra's shoulder.

She smiled.

"Everyone has a role to play."

The Codex shimmered.

Skill Activated

Leader's Resolve

Effect:

Large-scale coordination enabled.

Allied efficiency increased.

Lyra divided the city into six sectors.

Team One

Pyron and Captain Rowan.

Team Two

Nereus and the Royal Beast Keepers.

Team Three

Kael and the Royal Knights.

Team Four

Umbra leading the Shadow Wolves.

Team Five

Royal Griffins carrying messages and evacuating civilians.

Team Six

Lyra.

Prince Leon looked confused.

"You're going alone?"

Lyra smiled.

"No."

"I'm going with every beast willing to trust me."

She lifted the wooden whistle.

The Song of First Bonds echoed across the city.

For a moment...

Nothing happened.

Then windows opened.

Stable doors burst wide.

Dogs ran into the streets.

Cats leapt onto rooftops.

Horses neighed.

Falcons circled overhead.

Even wild foxes emerged from hidden alleys.

One by one...

Thousands of animals answered the call.

Citizens watched in astonishment.

The Codex displayed a new message.

Historic Event

Call of the Beast Sovereign

All non-corrupted beasts within Asteria have responded.

A little girl whispered,

"They're... helping us."

An old man smiled through tears.

"I've never seen anything like this."

Across the capital, the battle began.

Pyron reduced entire clusters of Void Roots to ash with controlled bursts of flame.

Nereus purified poisoned canals, exposing crystals hidden beneath the water.

Kael fought through cult strongholds, destroying the devices he had once helped create.

Umbra led packs of wolves through narrow streets, guiding trapped civilians to safety before leading Lyra directly to hidden crystal chambers.

One after another...

The crimson lights on the Codex map vanished.

Forty-eight...

Forty-three...

Thirty-seven...

Twenty-nine...

High above the city, Malakar watched from the palace tower.

His smile faded.

"They're dismantling the network..."

Fury filled his eyes.

"So be it."

He raised both hands.

The remaining crystals began drawing power toward a single point beneath the royal palace.

The ground split open.

An enormous obsidian spire slowly emerged from below the capital.

It dwarfed every building around it.

The air itself seemed to grow heavier.

The Codex shook violently.

New Threat Detected

Void Spire

Classification:

Ritual Core

Status:

Awakening

Estimated Completion:

15 Minutes

Kael stared at the towering structure.

His face turned pale.

"No..."

"I've seen the blueprints."

"If that spire finishes awakening..."

"It won't just consume Asteria."

"It will tear open a path for the Empty Throne itself."

Lyra looked up at the towering black monument.

She tightened her grip on the wooden whistle.

"Then we end this."

As the first cracks of violet lightning spread across the sky, the true battle for Asteria was about to begin.
