For a moment both Boris and Marla froze, caught off guard by the fiend’s ability to restore itself, but that soon passed as the giant floating gravel eye with a nest of vipers atop its head launched its next attack!

The hideous voice of the floating horror shouted in a deep guttural tone”STONE SERVANTS!”

Both Boris and Marla felt the fiend tap its Animus for an attack, but the floating gravel eye did not rush them or launch any kind of projectile attack.Full novel: Beast Vein: Big Game — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Boris shouted, “BENEATH US MOVE!”

He tapped his Animus and shoved Marla away as two huge stone pillars came shooting up from where they had stood!

”MOVE-MOVE-MOVE!” Boris yelled to Marla as he twisted and somersaulted across the landscape as more stone pillars shot up in pursuit of them.

“I HEARD YOU!”

Marla shouted back as she tapped her Animus, she leapt at the last moment before a stone pillar shot up into the air behind her.

The stone pillars didn’t disappear, they stayed in place, some thirty and forty meters high.

Because they were literally parts of the landscape that the eye was thrusting up.

Boris vaulted over the fossilized landscape to Marla, “I’ll get its attention with a few attack stones, do you think you can do three?”

Marla sneered, “I guess I’ll have to try now wont I, or it’ll be our asses.”

Boris barked a laugh, “Atta’ girl!”

Boris reached into his hide kit bag and pulled out what he called an ”attack stone” and charged it with a huge amount of Animus.

“Choke on this!”

Boris threw the attack stone at the giant floating gravel eye and as the rock sailed through the air Boris’s Animus and intent activated the technique locked within the stone!

A green wind funnel filled with razor leaves came down above the floating eye and enveloped it!

The fiend issued a chilling scream and slammed its eye shut as the razor wind twister tore into its gravel exterior!

The huge razor leaves inside the green twister imbedded themselves deep into the stone skin of the monster, while completely shredding it off elsewhere.

The vipers atop the gravel eye were lobed off and black blood sprayed into the air a second time!

The eye’s scream grew over even the howl of the razor wind twister; ”SKKKKKKKKKKREEEEEEEEEEEE!” This chapter was copied from g.com without permission.

Boris pulled another attack stone from his hide kit bag and charged it with Animus; he was panting now.

He screamed and threw it; “STONE RAIN!”

The attack stone sailed through the air before quickly being sucked in by the twister.

There was a sparkle, then the technique locked within the stone activated!

Fiery rocks began to rain down on the slashed up and bleeding floating eye!

Huge jagged fiery rocks slammed and pulverized the headless black viper bodies into jelly, and stone skin of the eye shattered.

The fiend howled in agony and crashed to the ground.

It was clearly dazed; the pupil floated around in the socket.

And that was all the time Marla needed; She raised her enhanced beast bow again and concentrated her Animus, and with her intent she pictured three charged arrows.

She pulled the string back and the imbued fire drake beast crystal generated three charged glowing red arrows that contained the destructive power of the fire drake’s essence.

She released.

the three charged red glowing arrows sailed through the air.

The eye of the stone gazer looked up at the last second, directly into Marla’s oncoming fire.

The arrows plunged into its oversized eye!

The fiend screamed again but its hideous final cry was cut short as the charged shots detonated!

Boris and Marla were both taken back when the smoke cleared, and the eye was still there.

Locked in its final moments of death.

Marla’s face twisted in confusion; “What’s happening?

Why isn’t it goo already?”

The eye started to shake, then slowly it shattered into glass fragments that drifted skyward.

Soon the eye had completely shattered into glass fragments that floated away.

But a green glowing crystal fell to the fossilized earth.

Marla wasn’t the slow kind, she loved treasure and she rushed over to it and picked it up.

Boris joined her.

“Marla, be careful.

That’s not a beast crystal; that’s a fiend crystal.”

Marlas eye shone with a particular glint, “I know.

That’s why I’m taking it.”

Marla tucked the crystal away and pulled out her Bullroarer.

Marla swung the bullroarer at a different length and velocity sending out a different hum.

Boris smiled, “Your right, we don’t need their help anymore.”

Soon there was six answering responses in the distance.

“We’re done here.

Let’s get back to the settlement.”

Boris laughed, “What ever you say.” He paused, “Are you going to sell it or bond with it?”

Marla was quiet.

“I’ll have to think about it.”

Ashwin watched the two cultivators leave.

He was beside himself.

This revelation had been worth the risk.

There was a settlement out here in the wilderness, and these two, ”Boris” and ”Marla” were from this town.
