The moment Yan Jingyu jumped down, his body froze stiff at the sudden, sharp barking of a dog. “Y-You… where did you pop out from?! How dare you trespass on private property? I’m… telling you, I am the owner here! If you dare bite me, I’ll turn you into soup!”
To his dismay, the dog barked even more ferociously, even making a motion as if it were about to pounce on him.
In a moment of desperation, Yan Jingyu suddenly recalled the Peking Opera his grandfather used to sing, which sounded exceedingly imposing when scolding someone. Supposedly, when his grandfather encountered a vicious dog in his childhood, he had managed to shout it down just like that.
And so, clearing his throat, he placed one hand on his hip while pointing a finger at the large black dog, scolding it in a theatrical operatic tone: “Hold! You ill-featured, wretched-natured beast, cease your rampant insolence! Once I return, I shall surely make you pay…”
Before he could finish his line, a trembling cry came from the top of the wall. Before he could even turn his head to look, he was tackled to the ground by Fan Rong, who had jumped down from above.
Seeing yet another person drop down, the large black dog thrashed about on the spot, barking at the top of its lungs without restraint.
This racket alerted the people inside the villa. Xiao Meng was the first to run out. Seeing two people lying beneath the perimeter wall, he immediately turned back and shouted, “Security! Come out quickly! Sasae fans have broken in!”
“What?! Sasae fans?!” Holding a rolling pin in his hand, Shao Yang dashed out. “Where are the Sasae fans? Watch me crush them!”
“Oh dear, why did you come out?” Xiao Meng hurriedly pushed Shao Yang back inside. Yet before Shao Yang could be pushed all the way in, the other three also emerged.
The security guard rushed over, pointing an electric baton at them. “Who are you, people? Hurry up and get up!”
“It’s me!” Yan Jingyu took off the hat on his head and removed his mask. The aloof Film King instantly turned into a disheveled, youthful college guy.
“You…” The security guard bent his waist and leaned in close to look. “You couldn’t be Film King Chi Dianqing, could you?”
Yan Jingyu ran a hand through his hair, a charming smile already gracing his face. “Ha, indeed I am, Film King… Chi Dianqing.”
Fan Rong, who was beside him, scrambled up and hastily bowed in apology to them. “I’m so sorry, we were being chased by sasae fans with no other choice, which is why…”
“Ahem!” Yan Jingyu intentionally coughed loudly. Just as he was about to make an excuse, he was interrupted by a voice.
“Why are you here?” The speaker was Chi Dianqing. Standing behind him were the other three members of their group, along with the assistant Xiao Meng. The intimidating group pressed forward, causing Fan Rong to hold his breath instantly.
“Ha,” Yan Jingyu stood up from the ground with calm composure, even unhurriedly patting the dust off his body. Looking at Chi Dianqing, he said with deep meaning, “Why shouldn’t I be here?”
This was originally my domain! Why the hell shouldn’t I be here?! And where on earth did you get the nerve to ask that question, you dog who stole my place?
Chi Dianqing naturally read the little scheme in his mind, yet still said, “To brazenly break into someone else’s home without the owner’s permission like this is an act that can be charged as a crime and land you in jail. Don’t you know that?”
As if he had heard a hilarious joke, Yan Jingyu burst into a loud laugh: “Ha! If that’s the case, then call the police!”
“Hey, how can you be like this?” Brandishing the rolling pin toward him, Shao Yang said, “Trespassing on private property and you still think you’re in the right? So arrogant! I’m calling the police right now; let’s see if you can stay arrogant for long.”
Jiang Mingze pressed down on Shao Yang’s phone to stop the call, stepping forward with a smile. “Teacher Chi, next time before you come, you can let us know in advance and enter straight through the front door. But since you’re already here, please come inside and have a seat.”
Jiang Mingze had always been smooth and tactful. Though he knew about the relationship between Yan Jingyu and Chi Dianqing, the current situation was a prime opportunity to form a connection with a top-tier Film King, so he naturally wouldn’t let it slip by.
As for Du Kang, he already had friction with Yan Jingyu. Inviting Chi Dianqing inside would normally make Yan Jingyu uncomfortable, and as long as it made Yan Jingyu uncomfortable, why not?
“That’s right, Teacher Chi. I’ve admired your great name for a long time, but never had the chance to meet you. I didn’t expect to meet you here today,” Du Kang said.
Seeing these two traitors being so friendly to the enemy, Shao Yang was terrified that the “Yan Jingyu” beside them would be upset. But when he turned to look, he didn’t find the slightest hint of displeasure on “Yan Jingyu’s” face.
Chi Dianqing had only said those things earlier to make things difficult for Yan Jingyu; he was never actually going to call the police. After all, Yan Jingyu was currently occupying his identity; if he really called the police, he would only be digging a hole for himself.
And right now, Jiang Mingze and Du Kang’s little calculations happened to give him a way out, so why wouldn’t he take it?
The group, each with their own hidden motives, entered the villa. What astonished everyone once again was that the aloof Film King “Chi Dianqing” didn’t even bother saying hello and went straight upstairs into Yan Jingyu’s room.
Everyone thought to themselves: How did he get the title of ‘aloof Film King’ again? Oh, right! He seems to have another descriptor: unpredictable and willful!
But the problem is, he entered Yan Jingyu’s room!!!
And an even bigger problem is, how did he know which room was Yan Jingyu’s?!
Chi Dianqing clenched his fists until his knuckles cracked. Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, he took large strides upstairs and entered the room as well.
BANG!
A tremendous slamming sound made all the onlookers tremble, after which they scrambled to rush upstairs.
“Are you sick in the head?” Chi Dianqing questioned.
“Whether I’m sick or not, don’t you know? This is your body, after all.” Yan Jingyu walked familiarly into the walk-in closet and retrieved two pieces of clothing from inside.
Chi Dianqing snatched the clothes out of his hands. “What are you doing?”
“Changing my clothes, what else! You ask questions like a mentally impaired person.” Yan Jingyu reached out to try and take the clothes back, but was dodged. His hand caught nothing, so he turned around, intending to pull another set of clothes out of the closet.
Chi Dianqing blocked him once again. “You’re changing your clothes here? Is your brain grafted on from someone else?”
“This is my room, and these clothes are all mine. Why shouldn’t I be allowed to change into clothes bought with my own money?” Yan Jingyu looked down at Chi Dianqing from above, feeling for the very first time that this body was actually somewhat useful.
Chi Dianqing’s height of 190 cm was a full seven centimeters taller than Yan Jingyu’s, so in a face-to-face confrontation like this, height conferred a huge advantage.
“But right now you are wearing my skin and using my identity, so right now you are Chi Dianqing.” Chi Dianqing stared at him with sharp eyes. “Do you want tomorrow’s trending topic to be a CP hot search about the two of us?”
Yan Jingyu could almost picture how explosive the search terms would be if this made the hot search. After a moment of hesitation, he withdrew his hand from taking more clothes.
“Then what should I do? Are you just going to let me walk out like this?” Yan Jingyu pointed at his own clothes, which were filthy beyond recognition.
The underlying meaning was: Anyway, just like you said, I’m wearing your identity right now. Everything I do represents your actions. So, are you happy watching me wander around in such filthy clothes? Ultimately, it’s your reputation on the line, so figure it out yourself.
Looking at his attitude of a dead pig not fearing boiling water, Chi Dianqing was so angry he could hardly breathe. “Then first explain why you appeared here, and how you managed to get yourself into this state?”
At this question, Yan Jingyu’s eyes flickered guiltily, his mouth stammering indecisively.
Chi Dianqing wasn’t falling for his act. Grabbing Yan Jingyu as he tried to divert his attention, he pressed further: “Explain!”
Annoyed, Yan Jingyu slapped his hand away. “Argh! I just ate some luosifen and got discovered by a swarm of sasae fans! Under their relentless chase, I had no other choice but to resort to this strategy. What do you want from me?”
This kind of shameless attitude, clearly in the wrong, yet acting utterly justified and confident as if to say, ‘What can you possibly do to me’, was a true eye-opener for Chi Dianqing.
“What? You sound pretty proud and self-satisfied?” Chi Dianqing tossed the clothes in his hand right onto Yan Jingyu’s head. “Didn’t I say that if you use my identity again to do bizarre, unbelievable things, I won’t be polite with you?”
Yan Jingyu pulled the clothes off his head, holding back the urge to strangle him. “Hey, hey, hey, what do you mean by ‘bizarre, unbelievable things’? What’s wrong with me eating some luosifen? How is that bizarre?”
Chi Dianqing looked at the fuming Yan Jingyu with an expression as if looking at an idiot, saying faintly, “Your very existence is pretty bizarre and unbelievable.”
This retort left Yan Jingyu searching his brain for a long time, yet unable to find the best words to strike back. In the end, he simply gave up. “You’re the bizarre one! Your whole family is bizarre!”
Chi Dianqing was once again convinced that Yan Jingyu was nothing more than a simple-minded, useless flower vase whose limbs weren’t even particularly developed.
“Hurry up, change your clothes, and get the hell out.” Leaving behind these words, Chi Dianqing turned and walked away. Spending too much time with an idiot would inevitably affect one’s own intelligence.
“What? Aren’t you afraid of hitting the hot search now?” Yan Jingyu asked.
“I’m more afraid of turning into an idiot.” After Chi Dianqing finished speaking, he didn’t look back and walked straight toward the door. Just as his hand rested on the doorknob, he paused again.
“By the way, you had better come up with a reasonable explanation, one that sounds like it came from a normal person, for why you, as Chi Dianqing, broke into Yan Jingyu’s room without permission.”
Yan Jingyu, who was in the middle of changing, casually picked up a shoe nearby and threw it toward Chi Dianqing. “What do you mean by that?! Who are you calling abnormal?!”
However, as Chi Dianqing had just stepped out, the shoe hit the door with a heavy thud.
Meanwhile, at that very moment, Chi Dianqing found himself staring blankly at several onlookers gathered outside.
Scanning the group who were spectating in various postures, he asked in a cold voice, “What are you doing?”
A potato chip that Shao Yang was just about to feed into his mouth fell to the floor. He subconsciously picked it up and offered it to Chi Dianqing. “Brother Yu, want some?”
It was only when his hand reached out in front of Chi Dianqing that he realized what he had just done. Under Chi Dianqing’s icy, piercing gaze, he hesitated not for a second before shoving the fallen potato chip into his own mouth, then holding out the remaining half-bag in his other hand toward Chi Dianqing.
“Brother Yu, eat these. These didn’t fall on the floor.”
Behind him, Xiao Meng silently reached out and pulled Shao Yang back, offering a flattering smile: “Brother Yu, if there’s nothing else, we’ll head down to make dinner now. We’re wrapping dumplings today; everyone, let’s go together, let me help you.”
The remaining few echoed one after another: “Right, wrapping dumplings, wrapping dumplings.”
With a ready excuse, none of them wanted to stay in this awkward spot. They all followed Xiao Meng downstairs, retreating out of the range of Chi Dianqing’s hawk-like glare.
