“Mmm…”
A muffled groan escaped as a girl with sakura-pink hair struggled to sit up from a large, soft bed, enveloped in a gentle pink-and-blue glow.
At that moment, the girl felt her consciousness submerged in thick syrup, taking several seconds to painstakingly surface.
After forcing her eyes open, her vision blurred.
Everything in her field of view seemed to sway and overlap, as if she were looking out through a layer of rippling water.
She blinked hard, trying to dispel the double vision.
After a short while, her vision finally focused, but the scene before her left her completely stunned.
Before her lay a completely unfamiliar room.
The wallpaper was pale pink, the curtains a deep blue.
The heavy velvet fabric hung down thickly, blocking all outside light.
Only an ornate ceiling lamp overhead cast a soft white glow, enveloping the spacious pink-and-blue bed and faintly illuminating the depths of the room.
And the air here was filled with a strange, sweet fragrance, and the surface beneath her felt springy, not at all like the hard bed board in her dorm.
After staring blankly for a moment, the girl raised her hand and pressed her fingertips firmly against her temples, rubbing them.
She suspected she might be hallucinating from staying up too late last night.
But clearly, this seemed to be a futile effort.
As time passed, the girl’s consciousness gradually cleared.
After realizing that no amount of rubbing her eyes changed the scene before her or the sensation beneath her, she finally accepted that this was not a hallucination.
Then, she began to murmur to herself:
“What’s going on…
Where…
is this place?”
But as soon as the words left her lips, the girl’s entire body suddenly froze.
Because she had just noticed something extremely strange.
The girl abruptly covered her mouth, her pupils constricting violently.
“My voice?!”
The voice was incredibly soft and sweet, tinged with the lazy nasal tone of someone who had just woken up, its final syllables naturally curling upward, sounding utterly adorable.
But this was definitely not the voice she had used for the past twenty years!
At this, she immediately looked down and began to examine her body.
Immediately after, she noticed the slight bulge on her chest.
In an instant, an unprecedented, inexplicable panic seized her.
Ignoring the faint pain still throbbing in her head, the girl frantically threw off the light pinkish-blue quilt and stumbled barefoot onto the floor.
The coolness spreading from the soles of her feet made her shiver, and her mind seemed to clear a little.
Her gaze swept urgently around the room, finally locking onto the European-style vanity mirror framed in blue and gold beside the bed.
At the sight, the girl practically lunged toward it, immediately bracing her palms on the edge of the vanity.
Then, she looked at the face reflected in the mirror.
The person in the mirror wore a loose, light pink jacket, one side of which had slipped off her shoulder, revealing a matching slip dress underneath.
At her collarbone, a delicate necklace rose and fell gently with her breathing.
The most striking feature was her pink hair, which faded into a deep blue at the tips.
After seeing the reflection, the girl instinctively leaned closer.
She looked into the reflection’s eyes.
They were clear and translucent, as if they held the entire star-studded night sky, and the pupils within were a strange diamond shape.
She knew this face in the mirror all too well.
“This…
This is…
Cyrene?”
Looking at the face in the mirror, she muttered to herself, her voice trembling slightly.
Then, she raised her fingertips and gently touched her own face.
At the same time, the girl in the mirror performed the exact same action in perfect sync.
The real, warm sensation from her fingertips made the girl abruptly snatch her hand back.
She froze, her mind completely blank.
After a long moment, she slowly opened her mouth and said in disbelief:
“I’ve become Cyrene?
This…
This can’t be right, can it?”
Although even she found the conclusion hard to believe, it seemed there were no other options available.
But in the next instant, a new thought suddenly popped into her head.
“Could I be dreaming right now?
I’ve heard you don’t feel pain in dreams.
Maybe I should test it?”
With this thought, the girl hesitated for a moment, then raised her hand again and began to pinch her fair cheek hard.
“Ngh…”
A sharp, incredibly real sting shot through her cheek, making her instinctively cover it with her hand.
At the same time, the person in the mirror immediately performed the exact same action, her delicate eyebrows furrowing slightly from the pain.
Seeing this, the girl slowly lowered her hand.
She stared at the clear red mark on Cyrene’s face in the mirror, and her last shred of hope completely vanished.
“There’s pain…
It’s not a dream…” she murmured, her voice filled with confusion.
“Have I…
really become Cyrene?”
She gazed at the face in the mirror, which belonged to her “Little Cyrene” period, and a wave of absurdity washed over her.
“And it looks like I’m still in my ‘Little Cyrene’ phase…
What on earth is going on?”
Cyrene closed her eyes, forcing herself to calm down, and began to dig through her chaotic memories for fragments.
Before long, memory fragments surged forth.
She snapped her eyes open, the confusion in her azure, diamond-shaped pupils instantly replaced by overwhelming grief and indignation.
“I remember now!”
Cyrene gritted her teeth, her hands gripping the edge of the vanity so tightly that her knuckles turned slightly white.
“To pull her!
I saved up a thousand pulls!
I grinded day and night, scrimped and saved, just to get a fully upgraded version!”
“And what happened…” She looked at her reflection in the mirror, tears inexplicably welling up in her eyes.
“Mihoyo rigged the game against me!
I hit hard pity every single time!
And lost the 50/50 every single time!”
“I sank a thousand pulls!” Her voice cracked with sobs.
“Not only did I have nothing left for the Lightcone banner, but I couldn’t even max out Cyrene’s Eidelons!”
Her memory froze on the moment before she blacked out: on the computer screen, a seemingly mocking 5-Eidolon Cyrene, and next to her, the empty weapon slot with a “0 Superimposition Light Cone.”
In that instant, rage, resentment, and despair erupted into a towering wave of fury.
Then, her vision went black, and her consciousness plunged into darkness.
“So…” Cyrene released her grip, her hands falling limply to her sides.
Her face showed a mix of frustration and dejection.
“I…
because I lost my gacha pulls…
got so angry I…
literally raged myself into another world?”
After calming down from the gacha-induced fury, a wave of embarrassment washed over her.
Cyrene covered her face, her toes curling in cringe.
This is so humiliating!
“I’m sorry…” she mumbled into the void.
“I’ve disgraced all the predecessors who got hit by Truck-kun while saving someone…
I’ve brought shame upon all my fellow transmigrators…”
After saying that, Cyrene took a few deep breaths, then forcefully slapped her cheeks.
“Okay, calm down!
Now is not the time to dwell on it!”
The top priority was to figure out where she was.
Cyrene shifted her attention and began to re-examine the room.
“A bedroom filled with a girly aesthetic.” She walked to the desk, her fingers tracing the surface where a desktop computer sat quietly in standby mode.
Next, she picked up the phone from the bedside table.
The screen lit up, requiring a password or facial recognition to unlock.
“Modern tech products…
The furniture is all pink and blue.
The original owner must have been a pink-and-blue fanatic,” she analyzed aloud, fiddling with the phone.
Suddenly, her fingers froze.
A chill shot up her spine, making her scalp tingle.
“Wait a minute!” Her voice trembled.
“Even though this room doesn’t look like Cyrene’s residence in Amphoreus from the game…
it doesn’t mean she didn’t move!”
“And Amphoreus has things similar to phones, too.”
Although something like a computer had never appeared, that didn’t mean Amphoreus didn’t have them.
If this really was Amphoreus…
The thought of the disasters that occurred in that world made Cyrene’s throat feel dry, her heart clenching as if squeezed.
If I transmigrated into the Cyrene from that storyline…
wouldn’t that mean starting on Hell Mode?
At this thought, Cyrene immediately dropped the phone and rushed to the window.
Then, she gripped the heavy curtains and yanked them open!
Shhh-la!
Outside the window was the deep night sky.
The dark expanse was dotted with sparse stars, and orange-yellow streetlights outlined the roads.
In the distance, a cluster of modern buildings formed a sea of lights.
A few cars drove along the asphalt road, their taillights leaving streaks of light, while faint honking sounds echoed from afar.
Seeing this familiar and peaceful cityscape, Cyrene’s tense expression instantly crumbled, and she slid down the wall to sit on the floor.
“Phew…”
A long sigh of relief escaped her lips as she wiped the cold sweat from her forehead.
“It’s the modern world…
not Amphoreus,” she murmured to herself.
As long as it wasn’t that high-risk world, everything would be fine.
After confirming her basic safety, Cyrene’s mind began to race again.
Since it’s a transmigration…
there should be a cheat, right?
“Logically, transmigrators should come standard with a System, right?
Or a status panel…”
Cyrene climbed up from the floor and, tentatively, called out carefully into the room:
“Great System…
are you there?”
Before the words had even faded…
A sudden change occurred!
The ceiling light above her instantly went out, plunging the room into darkness.
Immediately after, a powerful sensation of weightlessness struck her, making Cyrene feel as if she were suspended high in the air, with nothing beneath her feet.
“Eh?!”
Cyrene cried out in alarm, instinctively flailing her arms in the darkness, only to grasp at empty air.
Just as she thought she was about to fall, the scene before her abruptly twisted.
The pink and blue bedroom vanished, replaced by a vast, boundless cosmic expanse.
Countless stars twinkled in all directions, converging into a flowing, radiant galaxy.
Cosmic dust drifted like sheer veils, while rotating nebulae and galactic silhouettes loomed in the distance.
Cyrene found herself suspended in this void, with nothing beneath her feet, yet her body stood steady.
Absolute silence surrounded her, with only the swirling starlight silently narrating the vastness of the cosmos.
