These are Arthur Lindsey’s belongings!

At this moment, Arthur Lindsey’s tall figure suddenly appeared in the doorframe.

“What are you holding in your hands?” he started, with a cold and menacing tone.Full novel: Becoming the Apple of Mr.Gong’s Eye — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Sally Jefferson jumped with fright, not expecting Arthur to show up, let alone appearing so handsome before her.

She responded, pretending to be calm yet slightly uneasy, “It seems like a…”

It’s his!

It was actually found in the room of that young girl!

“Arthur, it… it’s not my fault.” Sally nervously tried to explain.

She felt that Arthur in front of her was like an angry lion, ready to tear anyone into pieces at any moment.

So terrifying!

Meanwhile, she pointed towards the opened diary at the bottom layer.

Arthur’s wicked gaze quickly scanned over it, and upon seeing the childish handwriting, twisted and squiggly, a memory was instantly ignited in his mind–

He never imagined that it had been picked up by Ella Lacey and kept until this day!

“Arthur…”

Ella froze on the spot, unable to move.

She felt such a sense of injustice.

Her parents never touched her locker, the servants never rummaged through it, Arthur never brushed against it; that’s why she was bold enough to keep it unlocked.

Unfortunately, her secret was exposed today.

Well, she could understand Arthur’s fury, it was one thing for her to know his secret, but now Sally knew of it too.

How could he not be angry?

He walked over with a gloomy look, shoved Ella out of her room with force, pointed at the dark night outside, and angrily yelled, “Get out of the Lindsey family! Go far away!”

Sally saw an opportunity to remain the good sister figure to Ella.

She hastily tried to reason, “Arthur, it’s already late, where can Ella go?”

“And you, get out as well!”

Arthur had already received an intelligence report, revealing that the person who was spreading rumors at Cloud University was Sally Jefferson.

“Arthur…why…” Sally stood still in shock, unable to believe that he would ask her to leave too.

If only she had known, then she wouldn’t have tried to defend Ella.

Arthur didn’t spare her a glance, his face remaining gloomy and emotionless, dismissing her, “You know what you’ve done.”

Damn it.

Sally was instantly thrown into panic, her heart filled with fear.

Was he referring to the incident at Cloud University?

Had he already found out?

But, when she had texted an anonymous tip to her seniors at the high school in Cloud University, she had made sure to instruct them to not disclose that the information was from her, promising that if anyone interrogated them, they would just deny all knowledge.

With over ten thousand students at Cloud University, how would they be able to investigate?

But she had greatly underestimated Arthur’s ability.

Who was Arthur Lindsey?

He could dig out every single detail about you in no time!

“Why are you still standing there? Get going!” Arthur’s chest heaved violently with each word that was spat out, burning with rage.

“I’ll leave—and I will never come back,” Ella retorted defiantly, her lips puckered.

She wondered whether he would reconsider his harsh words, but Arthur Lindsey walked out of her room without a backward glance, his face stern as he headed toward the study.

“Arthur, I was wrong, I will never do it again…” Sally quickly pleaded to his retreating figure, looking pitiful.

She could not afford for Arthur to see any of her flaws.

She had to be perfect from inside out.

“Sally, it’s not your fault. I’m to blame, for getting you caught up in my punishment,” Ella, unaware of Sally’s deeds, wrongly assumed she was being punished because of her and tried to comfort her. You are reading on novelping dot com, the official source.

Sally caught on quickly, knowing that Ella was clueless about the situation.

She responded naturally, “Ella, we are close friends.

There’s no need for such formalities.”

“Good sister, it looks like we’re going to be sleeping on the streets tonight,” Ella joked lightly.

On the surface, she appeared nonchalant, but inside, she felt a deep bitterness.

Never in her life had Arthur been so furious with her, irrevocably ordering her to leave with no chance of returning.

She was already devastated when he abandoned her at Cloud University.

Now, merely three hours after she returned home, she ended up annoying him again, getting banished from his house.

Ella honestly felt like she had no reason to live.

In hindsight, she wished she had simply jumped off the Transfer Mountain earlier; it would have spared her the grief she felt now.

“Sleep on the streets? No way, an angel’s on his way to take you all home.”

A warm voice suddenly echoed through the room, a stark contrast to Arthur Lindsey’s cold alienation.

At the door stood a slender man, wearing a black and white checked shirt, a pair of black rimmed glasses above his nose.

His smile was bright, he looked elegant and clean, emitting a strong artistic vibe.

“Louis!” Ella exclaimed his name excitedly, clearly they were on good terms, “Long time no see.”

“Brother—you’re back from your business trip?” Sally followed, her greeting seemed affectionate yet distant.

“Yes, it’s been a while, but I’m back,” Louis Jefferson responded in his gentle voice, approaching them with understanding, “It’s getting late, and you have school tomorrow. Let’s head back.”

But Ella stood still, hesitating in her heart.

Did Arthur truly not want her anymore?

Seeing this, Sally pulled her, trying to reassure her, “Ella, come back with us. When Arthur calms down, you can come back.”

In truth, Sally keenly hoped that Ella would distance herself from Arthur.

The farther and the longer they were apart, the better — ideally, Arthur would never allow Ella to return.

Because, sooner or later, Arthur would be hers alone!
