The conference room on the top floor of the hospital was packed.

A man sat to the side, dressed in a smoke-gray suit that accentuated his tall, well-built frame.

His expression was cold, his jawline slightly tense.Full novel: Behave, Don’t Escape! The Crazy Villain Wants to Kiss Her Again — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

After delivering his impassioned vision with measured cadence, he raised a hand to signal the shareholders to begin their free discussion.

Mo Yan’s lips curved into a faint smile, the look of absolute certainty in his eyes plain on his face.

Before long, the shareholders nodded in small groups, and the hospital director stood up.

Mo Yan rose as well and followed the shareholders downstairs for a tour.

The shareholders enthusiastically introduced the hospital’s facilities and medical resources. As the most advanced private hospital in the entire capital, they were currently working on cutting-edge research projects that not only burned through money but also required the latest equipment and talent.

It was for this reason they had decided to seek additional investors.

Mo Yan accompanied the shareholders as they toured the entire hospital.

Eventually, the group arrived at the orthopedics department.

Out of the corner of his eye, Mo Yan caught sight of a familiar figure.

The bloodthirsty killing intent in his eyes flared once more, accompanied by a surge of inexplicable fury.

Jiang Luxi was dead?

Buried by Huo Jin Ge at the estate?

Then what was that standing not far away—a ghost?

He raised a hand to cut off the shareholder’s speech, a polite smile on his face. “My apologies, Director. I have some personal matters to attend to today. Please have someone send me a copy of the drafted contract later—I’d like to review it first.”

Hearing that there was hope, the shareholders quickly nodded in agreement.

Mo Yan unbuttoned his suit jacket with one hand and gestured to his assistant nearby.

“Come here, come here.”

The assistant, looking ashen-faced, cautiously approached and said respectfully, “President Mo.”

A roguish glint in his eyes, Mo Yan licked his crimson lips and pointed a slender, well-defined index finger in Jiang Luxi’s direction.

His voice was icy, each word dripping with bone-chilling cold. “Didn’t you say she was dead? Buried? Do you believe I’ll bury you at my estate instead?”

The assistant grimaced, scratching the back of his head. “President Mo, Huo Jin Ge really did dig a pit that night.”

Mo Yan planted his hands on his hips, pressing his tongue against the inside of his cheek.

This woman had drugged him, framed Yunyun, and used every trick in the book to get into his bed.

Just for framing Yunyun alone, he could never let Jiang Luxi live!

Jiang Feng and Yu Yi emerged from the psychiatry department, their faces filled with shock.

Yu Yi clutched the diagnosis report, looking utterly bewildered. “So she really isn’t mentally ill after all.”

“You held a gun to his forehead, for fuck’s sake!”

Jiang Feng finished speaking and lifted his gaze to search for her.

The corridor outside the consultation room was empty—there was no sign of Jiang Luxi anywhere.

“Shit! Where’s Jiang Luxi?”

Yu Yi also panicked, his eyes wide as he pointed to the spot where Jiang Luxi had been standing moments before.

“Wasn’t she just right here?”

“Damn, if she’s really missing, your forehead’s going to have a hole in it.”

The two hurriedly rushed downstairs, planning to search for her floor by floor.

Just one floor down, they spotted Jiang Luxi emerging from the orthopedics consultation room, studying the diagnosis report in her hand.

It seemed her overly diligent pit-digging had taken its toll—this young lady’s body had never endured such humiliation before.

Her overburdened shoulders had even developed periarthritis.

Jiang Feng bent over, bracing his hands on his knees as if completely drained.

If they had really lost her, he and Yu Yi would likely end up as fertilizer for the soil.Yu Yi stepped in front of Jiang Luxi, his tone very serious: “Miss Jiang, could you inform just the two of us next time?”

Jiang Luxi lifted her head, her gaze sweeping over both their faces as she retorted, “Can we confirm now that I’m mentally sound?”

The two pressed their lips together without speaking, but both nodded.

Black and white on paper, it was clearly written.

Satisfied this time, Jiang Luxi prepared to go downstairs with the two men.

Just then, a sinister, cold voice came from behind.

A chill ran down Jiang Luxi’s spine—this voice was identical to that of Mo Yan, the male lead from the novel she had dreamed about.

Suddenly, it dawned on her. No wonder the name of this private hospital felt so familiar; it was later mentioned as one of the male lead’s properties.

Had she just walked right into the lion’s den?

Jiang Feng and Yu Yi turned warily to look at Mo Yan as he approached them.

Though the man wore a refined, villainous smile, Jiang Luxi could sense the bloodlust and killing intent behind it.

Her body trembled visibly, and she involuntarily stepped back until her back pressed against the cold tiled wall. Mo Yan stopped right in front of her.

Jiang Luxi’s wide, frightened eyes flickered nervously, her fingers digging tightly into the wall behind her.

Mo Yan’s dark eyes narrowed, the corners of his lips lifting slightly as he spoke in a magnetic yet chilling voice: “Jiang Luxi, I thought you were dead. Turns out, you’re alive and well.”

“…”

Jiang Luxi froze in place, stunned by his words.

So the male lead had thought she was dead.

Then she had missed the perfect chance to escape…

It would have been better not to show up at all, to let him believe she had died long ago.

What a miscalculation!

Mo Yan watched as fear, shock, confusion, and finally despair flashed across Jiang Luxi’s face.

“Seeing you today excites me more than ever. Isn’t this the effect you wanted, Jiang Luxi?”

In a last-ditch effort, Jiang Luxi stammered, “N-no… I don’t want that. I want you to stay away from me.”

Nearby, Jiang Feng couldn’t make out what the two were saying, but he saw Jiang Luxi’s face growing increasingly pale.

He stepped forward and spoke up, “President Mo, Miss Jiang belongs to Master Ho. Please know your limits.”

The smile on Mo Yan’s lips widened.

He murmured to himself, “Master Ho? Huo Jin Ge?”

His gaze returned to Jiang Luxi before him. So she had already latched onto another man.

Typical Jiang Luxi.

He leaned close to her ear, his voice low enough for only the two of them to hear: “Even though you’re with Huo Jin Ge now, sooner or later, you’ll fall into my hands.”

Mo Yan straightened up, gave her a meaningful smile, and turned to leave.

Jiang Luxi’s originally fair face was now as pale as paper, terrified by his words.

As soon as he was gone, she quickly raised a hand to signal Jiang Feng and Yu Yi.

Her voice trembled uncontrollably: “Quick… quick, help me up.”

The two stepped forward, each taking one of her arms.

Only at this moment did Jiang Luxi feel the sense of security that Huo Jin Ge provided.

As long as she remained under Huo Jin Ge’s protection, Mo Yan wouldn’t lay a hand on her.

This damned sense of security.

Supported by the two men, Jiang Luxi trembled all the way, her legs shaking as they took the elevator out of the hospital.

The three returned to the villa.

The moment she stepped through the door, she felt as if she had come back to life. She became even more certain that before anything else, she must cling tightly to Huo Jin Ge’s coattails.

She absolutely could not give Mo Yan any opportunity to kidnap her.

Although Huo Jin Ge was the villain, at least for now he wouldn’t take her life.

After Jiang Feng and the other person escorted Jiang Luxi back to the villa, they drove away.
