The words remained on the mirror.
THE FIRST SEAL HAS OPENED.
NINE REMAIN.
AND IT REMEMBERS YOU.
Eryndor stared at them.
For several seconds, nobody spoke.
The cavern had become unnaturally quiet.
Even the trembling mountain seemed to have stopped.
Kael looked from the mirror to Eryndor.
“What does it mean?”
Eryndor did not answer immediately.
He was looking at the final sentence.
And it remembers you.
The words were wrong.
Not because they were false.
Because something about them felt familiar.
Eryndor had never encountered the thing beneath the seals.
He had never spoken to it.
Yet when it had whispered to him, there had been recognition in its voice.
Not curiosity.
Not confusion.
Recognition.
As though something had been waiting for him long before he had been born.
His hand moved toward the broken mirror pendant.
There was no longer a complete pendant around his neck.
The outer casing had split.
Yet the tiny mirror inside remained intact.
Instead of reflecting his face, it showed darkness.
Then a single golden eye appeared within it.
Eryndor stepped back.
The eye vanished.
“Did you see that?” Kael asked.
“Yes.”
Aldren looked between them.
“What is happening?”
Eryndor finally turned toward him.
“I don’t know.”
Aldren’s expression tightened.
“You keep saying that.”
“Because it’s true.”
For once, Aldren did not respond.
The ancient Titan statue moved again.
Its enormous stone head turned toward the fractured seal.
Golden light flowed through the Law Runes covering its body.
[Containment failure detected.]
[Primary seal compromised.]
[Emergency inheritance protocol activated.]
Kael stepped forward.
“What can we do?”
The statue remained silent for several seconds.
Then:
[One inheritance has been successfully synchronized.]
Kael’s eyes widened.
“Mine?”
[Affirmative.]
Kael looked toward Eryndor.
“Then I can repair it.”
The statue answered immediately.
[Insufficient.]
Kael’s expression fell.
“How insufficient?”
[Current inheritance synchronization: 4.7%.]
Kael stared.
“That’s all?”
[Current bearer is incomplete.]
Kael clenched his fists.
Eryndor understood.
The inheritance had awakened part of Kael’s Titan Bloodline.
But Kael was still only at the beginning of his path.
The original Titan Primordial had possessed complete Authority over the Titan Race.
Kael had inherited only a fragment.
Four point seven percent was already an extraordinary amount for an awakened being.
But compared with the original inheritance, it was almost nothing.
The statue continued.
[Additional inheritance synchronization required.]
Kael looked toward the seal.
“How much?”
The statue’s eyes dimmed.
[Unknown.]
Eryndor frowned.
The system could calculate Kael’s compatibility.
It could measure the seal.
It could recognize the inheritance.
Yet it could not determine how much was required.
That meant the answer was not simply a number.
Something else was involved.
Understanding.
Evolution.
Perhaps even the awakening of the original Titan Authority.
Eryndor looked toward the fractured seal.
“What happens if the first seal completely opens?”
The statue did not answer.
Kael repeated the question.
“What happens?”
This time, the answer came.
[The containment system will lose one of ten stabilizing authorities.]
Eryndor’s eyes narrowed.
“Then what?”
The statue remained silent.
A strange feeling passed through Eryndor.
The silence itself felt like an answer.
“Then it will escape.”
The statue’s eyes brightened.
[Probability increasing.]
Kael took a breath.
“What is it?”
The statue did not respond.
Eryndor looked at the golden seal.
He already knew the answer was not something simple.
The thing beneath the Domains was not merely a monster.
It had no fixed body.
No known Race.
No known Rank.
Even the remnants of the Ten Primordials could not classify it.
And if the mural was accurate, the Ten Primordials had once needed their combined Authority to contain it.
Eryndor suddenly remembered the black sphere beneath Vaelcrest.
Its seal had been at eighty-seven percent.
Now Drakemere’s seal had been compromised.
Two Domains.
Two points of failure.
The Ten seals were connected.
If one fell, the others would bear more pressure.
He looked toward Kael.
“We have to leave.”
Kael frowned.
“Why?”
“Because the inheritance isn’t the only thing awakening.”
The words had barely left his mouth when the mountain shook violently.
A thunderous sound rolled through the cavern.
The fractured seal began glowing.
Not gold.
Black.
Kael’s Law Runes activated instantly.
Aldren stumbled backward.
Eryndor raised his hand.
“Stay behind me.”
The darkness expanded.
Then stopped.
A thin black line emerged from the crack.
It stretched outward across the golden seal.
But instead of breaking it further, the line formed a symbol.
A circle.
Inside it was a single vertical mark.
Eryndor recognized it.
The same symbol had appeared in the mural.
The wound.
The ancient threat.
But now there was something different.
A second symbol appeared beside it.
A small golden mark.
Eryndor stared.
That symbol was familiar.
It was the same shape as the symbol that had appeared inside his mirror before the Awakening.
His breath caught.
The darkness pulsed.
The golden mark pulsed with it.
Once.
Twice.
Then both symbols disappeared.
Kael looked at him.
“You know what that means.”
“No.”
“You recognized it.”
Eryndor remained silent.
He had.
But not consciously.
Something inside him had recognized it before his mind could.
His Core began vibrating.
The sensation was strange.
Not pain.
Not power.
Recognition.
Something within him was answering the seal.
The broken mirror trembled.
A voice appeared in his mind.
Return.
Eryndor’s eyes widened.
The voice came again.
Return to the beginning.
He saw a flash.
A vast darkness.
A white light.
A world before Aetherion.
Then ten beings standing around something that had no shape.
One of them turned.
Eryndor could not see its face.
But he knew it was looking at him.
Then the vision vanished.
Eryndor fell to one knee.
Kael grabbed him.
“Eryndor!”
Eryndor looked up.
His pupils had changed.
For a brief moment, one eye reflected golden light.
The other reflected darkness.
Then both returned to normal.
“What happened?”
Eryndor stood slowly.
“I remembered something.”
“From the future?”
“No.”
Kael waited.
Eryndor looked at the broken mirror.
“Something older.”
The words hung in the cavern.
Then the Tower appeared.
Not physically.
Its message manifested directly inside Eryndor’s consciousness.
[Unidentified memory structure detected.]
[Origin: unavailable.]
[Temporal classification: unavailable.]
Eryndor’s expression hardened.
The Tower had never said that before.
Not even when his future memories first returned.
This was different.
These memories were not from his previous life.
They were older.
Far older.
Then another message appeared.
[Warning.]
[Memory structure conflicts with current existence.]
Eryndor’s Core pulsed violently.
He staggered.
The mirror shattered completely.
A wave of invisible force spread through the cavern.
The golden seal responded.
The black fracture disappeared.
For one moment, the entire seal became perfectly stable.
Kael stared.
“The crack…”
Eryndor looked at it.
It was gone.
But something else had changed.
A new symbol had appeared in the center of the seal.
A tiny golden mark.
The same mark that had appeared beside the black symbol.
Eryndor slowly approached.
The moment his hand touched it, the Titan statue spoke.
[Foreign Authority detected.]
Eryndor froze.
The statue’s Law Runes began glowing.
[Authority source…]
A pause.
The statue seemed unable to continue.
Then:
[Unknown.]
Another pause.
[Classification impossible.]
Eryndor withdrew his hand.
The mark vanished.
The seal remained intact.
Kael looked at him.
“You repaired it.”
Eryndor shook his head.
“No.”
“Then what did you do?”
Eryndor looked at the golden seal.
“I think…”
He paused.
“I answered it.”
Far above them, the Ten golden barriers continued shining across Aetherion.
But something had changed.
For the first time since the Awakening, the barriers were no longer merely reacting to the world.
They were communicating.
Across the enormous world, ancient remnants began sending the same signal.
Not words.
Not sound.
A single pulse.
Then another.
Then another.
Ten Domains.
Ten remnants.
Ten seals.
And somewhere beyond the visible world, something answered.
The black Sun’s seven cores dimmed.
The red Moon’s seven cores stopped moving.
The multicoloured stars shifted.
One by one, they aligned toward the same distant point.
Then the sky opened.
Not physically.
Reality itself seemed to reveal a deeper layer.
For less than a second, Eryndor saw something beyond the stars.
A colossal darkness.
Not a creature.
Not a world.
An absence.
And within that absence were countless points of light.
Eyes.
They opened simultaneously.
All of them looked toward Aetherion.
All of them looked toward the Ten Domains.
And one of them looked directly at Eryndor.
His Core went completely silent.
Then a final message appeared inside his mind.
[Ancient existence has recognized you.]
Eryndor could not move.
A second message followed.
[It has begun searching.]
Then the third.
[It has found you.]
The vision vanished.
The sky returned to normal.
The mountain became silent.
Kael looked at Eryndor.
“What did you see?”
Eryndor slowly raised his eyes toward the ceiling.
For the first time since his awakening, he was genuinely afraid of what his future memories could not show him.
Because whatever had just found him…
Had never existed in the future he remembered.
And somewhere beneath the Ten Domains, the first seal had begun to open.
