Chap 13: The Spatial Interface

Beyond the ninth rank

Elias looked at Kyle with an unusually serious expression.

"Remember what I said."

"From today onward, your Space Element is your greatest secret."

Kyle nodded.

"I understand."

"The moment the wrong people discover what you possess..."

"They won't admire your talent."

"They'll fear it."

"And those who fear what they cannot control..."

"They destroy it."

Kyle instinctively clenched his fists.

"I'll keep it hidden."

"Good."

Elias finally allowed himself a faint smile.

"For the time being, you'll present yourself as a Pure Mana Awakener."

Kyle frowned.

"A Pure Mana Awakener?"

Elias nodded.

"Not everyone awakens an elemental affinity."

"Some awaken only mana."

"They possess no element."

"They strengthen their bodies with mana."

"They fight using pure mana."

"They are uncommon, but not rare enough to attract suspicion."

"As long as your Space Element remains hidden, no one will question you."

Kyle nodded slowly.

"I understand."

"Good."

Elias turned and began walking toward the center of the underground chamber.

"But before we discuss your future..."

"You must first learn how to control your mana."

Just as Kyle was about to answer...

A brilliant blue flash burst across his vision.

Kyle instinctively covered his eyes.

"What?"

The light disappeared as quickly as it had appeared.

Then...

Ripples spread across the empty air before him.

It was as if someone had thrown a stone into an invisible lake.

Silver lines slowly gathered together.

One after another...

Ancient-looking symbols formed.

Finally...

A translucent blue screen appeared before his eyes.

Kyle stood frozen.

His mouth slowly opened.

"...Master."

Elias looked at him.

"What is it?"

Kyle pointed toward the floating screen.

"Do you... see this?"

Elias frowned.

"See what?"

"This blue screen."

"It appeared out of nowhere."

"It has my name..."

"My cultivation..."

"My element..."

"My stats..."

Elias stared at the empty space Kyle was pointing toward.

After several seconds...

He slowly shook his head.

"I don't see anything."

Kyle looked back at the screen.

It remained there, floating quietly before him.

He cautiously reached out.

The moment his fingertip touched it...

The surface rippled gently like calm water.

Words suddenly appeared beneath the statistics.

Access Confirmed.

Kyle immediately withdrew his hand.

His heartbeat quickened.

"What... is this thing?"

Elias narrowed his eyes.

"I don't know what you're seeing."

"But if only you can see it..."

"It may be related to your Space Element."

Kyle nodded.

"So..."

"It's another ability?"

"Perhaps."

"But don't rely on it."

"Whether it's a blessing or something else..."

"We'll discover that later."

"For now..."

"Your priority remains the same."

"You must master mana."

Elias raised his hand.

A small stream of pure mana flowed around his fingers like a ribbon of blue light.

"This..."

"...is the foundation of every Awakener."

"Without precise mana control..."

"Even the greatest talent is meaningless."

Kyle watched intently.

"Starting today..."

"I'll teach you how to sense mana."

"Control mana."

"Reinforce your body with mana."

"And fight as a Pure Mana Awakener."

Kyle's eyes burned with determination.

"I won't disappoint you, Master."

Elias smiled.

"I know."

He turned toward the staircase leading out of the underground chamber.

"In one month..."

"The entrance examination for Dawn Awakener Academy will begin."

"The greatest academy in Sector Eight."

"Only the strongest applicants will earn admission."

He looked back at Kyle.

"Those who received exceptional awakenings, like Alice Norman and Brandon Vale, have already secured their places."

"But the remaining seats..."

"...must be fought for."

Kyle clenched his fist.

"I'll earn mine."

Elias nodded proudly.

"That's the spirit."

Outside the dojo...

The evening wind swept through the streets of the Ash District.

Kyle stood silently.

His life had changed completely in a single day.

He had awakened.

He possessed a mysterious Spatial Interface.

And now...

A new battlefield awaited him.

The Dawn Awakener Academy Entrance Examination.

His true journey...

Was only beginning.
