Araina took hunched steps through the trees slowly and slowly; approaching the area where she heard the sound from.

Deeper down the forest, was a landslide with huge boulders and little trees.

At this hour the rays of the sun seem to have descended down into the forest, taking its dominance around this part of the forest with sparse trees.Full novel: Bidden Coven — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Arriving at the spot, Ariana saw a huge rock close by which she snuck into and hid from getting spotted out by the perpetrator of the act.

She began scanning the area in search of what could have made the tree fall.

Though the coast was clear making her wonder for certain if the monster had moved deeper, stepping on a tig besides her, she tried going around the rock.

Suddenly a huge gust of wind blew past the forest, shaking the trees and leaves all over the place.

The strange noise from the forest further intensified by the wind giving her a nervous feeling.

She felt her face going flush; turning blue in panic!

Ariana closed her eyes in anticipation of what was to come.

She tried steading her heartbeat; sensing a strange yet mixed energy in the air.

It was a pure magic energy!.

Despite it not being strong but it is present in the air; what made her certain of this was simply because when she picked up the leave back at the forest ground, she smelt nothing.

Nothing out of the ordinary but now the strange presence of magic energy made her certain of one thing; a person is here!

With this realization, she began looking around.

Scanning the place with her eyes when she finally spotted something.

To her surprise it was a guy.

Situated at the highest tree in the forest where his figure was busked by the sun’s rays.

The guy sat with one knee upward and the other leg hanging from the tree.

He looked angelic from his figure, a living being out of this world.

The sun rays falling on his silhouette further accentuating his gracious figure; making him so ethereal and captivating that Araina didn’t know when he noticed her.

* Peeping behind the rock!

* He scoffed.

Ariana could only blink her eyes twice before the huge rock was lifted from the ground and she stood dumbfounded, at how it was now placed above her head; which made her close her eyes.

Thinking he was going to crash her with it.

Seconds slowly became minutes as the rock didn’t crash her, which made her open her eyes looking in the direction of the guy who was up in the tree.

He smashed the rock towards a tree nearby, then shifted his gaze towards her.

What surprised Araina was his speed, he could have killed her if he wanted to but he didn’t and it all happened within a shortest time interval.

Araina couldn’t make out his facial expression properly, from the distance he was.

He had his back at the sun; though she could tell from his gaze that he had an intimidating gaze directed at her.

A sharp gaze, both intimidating and overbearing, like he was trying to see through her souls; she could only capture his sharp gray orbs directed at her.

* What brings you into the forest?

* He asked still looking at her with solitude laced in his tone.

* I…

umm…

* Araina felt lost all of a sudden from the demeaning atmosphere around her.

She felt glued to the spot, even forgetting to breathe.

It lasted for minutes before she felt his cold aura elevated.

* What are you doing here?

* Araina retorted with a question of her own trying not to let his intimidating presence get to her. Get faster updates on g.com.

Her question made him smirk from his sitting position which made Araina wonder how someone could be so physically perfect.

Talk more as a guy; the smirk on his face made him so perfect and godlike.

The guy didn’t answer her or pay heed to her thoughts, if he could see them; rather he became more relaxed at his spot and he said * Head Griffin should be coming toward the gate anytime soon.

* He threw out in a bit to send her back.

* And she would remain there till the closing of the gates by seven!

How do you plan on getting back in?

* He retorted nonchalantly closing his eyes and placing his left hand on his knee.

* So you are a student at the academy.!

* Araina said surprisingly watching him.

He feigned ignorance, like she wasn’t there; with his eyes still close.

Seeing this, Araina knew he wouldn’t answer her questions so she looked for little stones all over the place, which she found and started throwing them deep into the forest from all angles.

She threw the first, the second, third, fourth and fifth stone which made the guy open his eyes and watched her actions for the first time with a glint in his eyes which she couldn’t fathom herself.

His gaze held her at a spot, which made her smile naively at him and she said.

* I was just wondering if a monster lived inside the forest!

* She stated.

Preparing to throw another stone into the furthest direction from all her previous directions.

He didn’t answer her but just kept watching her throw stones into the forest.

He looked up towards the sky and saw the sun was about to go down; which made him breathe a sigh and looked in her direction.

* No monster lives here, it was only told to scare freshmen from coming into the forest.

* He said in a flat tone before jumping down from the tree he was seated in.

He landed gracefully, making his appearance more noticeable to her.

Ariana watched him more closely now at a distance from her.

He was breathtakingly beautiful, his eyes, nose and lips; everything was a masterpiece.

He was uniquely different in his appearance from other guys she had seen.

His ink black hair looked a bit messy, like he just ran his hands through them awhile ago, with few strands falling at his face – magnifying his look further.

A fair skin, which looks almost pale white and thin cherry red lips.

His strong jawline and captivating gray eyes made her gaze linger a bit longer on him.

He turned around and walked deeper towards the other side of the forest which led far deeper than her eyes could see.

* You should go now.

Head Griffin would soon be at the gate.

* He sounds out a warning one last time knowing how much these freshmen were dreadful of Head Griffin.

Afterwards he disappeared into the forest from her view.

Ariana had her doubt.

From the beginning.

‘ there were no monsters in the forest’.

The only reason she threw a stone deep into the forest was to get him to admit it; which he did and she smiled while recalling his words before she started running backwards through the path she came.

It didn’t take long for her to arrive at the gates of the academy after running with all her might.

She stood closer to the walls and whistled, out in the open; as a means of signaling Calia.

Who heard it and whispered back to her.

* THE COAST HIS CLEAR. Follow the newest chapters on g.com.

*

Araina heard it resound in her ears, which made her walk into the academy and approached Calia who stood by the side.

* How was it?

* She asked her while holding Araina’s hands, in a caring manner.

Visibly showing how worried she had been over the past hour she was gone.

* You won’t believe it!

* Araina made a remark about her experience in the forest.

* And what would you two be doing here at this hour of the day?

* An authoritative voice broke their conversations.

Resounding very loudly in their ears which made them look ahead.

It was Head Griffin walked towards both girls with hands behind her, surveying them very closely; just as the guy had said.

* I hope you both are not planning on getting into detention anytime soon.?

* She questioned taking hunch steps towards them.

* Well…no…

ummm…

we’re.

* Calia fumbled with her words with fright laced in her voice.

She tried explaining themselves from getting detention.

* Well no Head Griffin, we’re getting accustomed to our new environment!

* Araina said enthusiastically with a smile on her face, placing her hands on Calia’s arm.

* In that case, I would say the sightseeing has come to an end.

* Stressing her words.

* You both should return to your dorms now!

* Head Griffin said walking over them.

They both started walking away from the spot.

Calia breathed a sigh of relief.

* I’m glad you returned right in time.

* She said genuinely, not thinking about the consequences they would have been.

* You won’t believe my tale.!

* Araina said and they both laughed at the circumstance they just escaped.
