S-class Mutated Zombie!

Those five words hit Jiang Lingyue’s heart like a massive boulder.

Although she had never seen one with her own eyes, she had heard about the terror these creatures brought.Full novel: Billions in post-apocalyptic stockpiling? Not as good as a bowl of braised beef noodles. — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

They could easily obliterate a small survivor base and were the nightmare of every survivor in the apocalypse!

How could it possibly appear here?

“Boom!”

“Boom!”

Every step the stitched giant took made the ground tremble.

Its compound eyes, formed from countless eyeballs, were fixed on the hotel, full of greed and savagery.

“What do we do?” Jiang Lingyue instinctively grabbed Gu Han’s arm, her voice trembling.

Even though the system had said the barrier provided absolute protection, the sheer pressure from the monster made her instinctively fearful.

Gu Han felt the soft touch on his arm, stiffened slightly, then quickly regained his composure.

He took her icy-cold hand in his, speaking in a deep, calm voice: “Don’t be afraid. It can’t get in.”

His large, warm palm radiated a reassuring strength.

Jiang Lingyue’s heartbeat settled a little.

On the other side, after the initial shock, Lu Xiao’s eyes didn’t show fear instead, they burned with battle fervor!

“S-class mutated zombie?” He licked his lips, an excited, wild grin spreading across his face. “Perfect timing!”

He turned to Jiang Lingyue and shouted, “Hey! Today’s competition isn’t over yet!”

“Whoever kills this thing and takes the S-class crystal core from its head will be the real winner!”

Before Jiang Lingyue or Gu Han could even react, he dashed toward the hotel gate!

“You’re insane!” Jiang Lingyue exclaimed in shock.

That’s an S-class zombie! How could he possibly handle it alone?

Gu Han’s expression also changed instantly. He glanced at Jiang Lingyue and instructed, “Stay here. Don’t go out.”

Then, without hesitation, he followed after Lu Xiao.

He couldn’t let Lu Xiao steal the spotlight.

More importantly, he couldn’t allow this monster to threaten the hotel or her.

In the blink of an eye, Jiang Lingyue was left alone in the lobby.

Watching on the monitors, she saw the two charging recklessly at the giant monster, her heart practically in her throat.

These two lunatics!

Risking their lives just to win a bet?

Outside the hotel.

“Roar!”

The stitched giant, seeing two small humans daring to challenge it, unleashed an enraged roar.

Its massive claw, assembled from over a dozen arms, whistled through the air and slammed down toward Lu Xiao!

“Bring it on!”

Lu Xiao laughed boldly, advancing instead of retreating, lightning crackling around him.

“Thunder Dragon Strike!”

A ferocious dragon made of pure lightning erupted from his body, meeting the giant claw head-on!

“Boom !”

The lightning dragon collided violently with the massive claw, blinding light exploding outward.

The shockwave sent surrounding rubble flying.

Lu Xiao staggered backward, blood rushing, while the stitched giant’s half-body was paralyzed by the lightning strike.

At that moment, a cold chill approached from the other side.

“Absolute Zero!”

Gu Han appeared at the stitched giant’s flank, pressing his hands to the ground. An icy stream spread rapidly along the floor, freezing the monster’s legs instantly!

“Crack!”

Its lower body was encased in thick ice, slowing its movements immediately.

“Well done, Ice Face!” Lu Xiao shouted to Gu Han.

Though he didn’t admit it, he knew facing this thick-skinned monster alone would have been extremely difficult.

“Less talk,” Gu Han replied coldly.

They exchanged a glance, silently acknowledging each other.

“Left side’s mine, right side’s yours!” Lu Xiao shouted.

“Got it.”

The next second, ice and lightning two forces attacked simultaneously as if they were in perfect sync.

Lu Xiao became a thunder god, countless lightning spears striking the right side of the giant zombie.

Gu Han, the Ice King, raised massive walls of ice to restrict the monster’s movement, while countless sharp ice spikes rained down on its left side.

Lightning and ice collided violently, explosions and roars filling the air.

The entire area became a battlefield dominated by elemental fury.

In the monitoring room, Jiang Lingyue was completely dumbfounded.

So this… is the true power of S-class fighters?

Cataclysmic, godlike.

She had only seen scenes like this in movies before.

And her seemingly “not very smart” employees were actually this incredible!

The battle reached its peak.

Though slowed by the ice, the stitched giant had enormous strength and regeneration.

It swung its arms wildly, smashing ice walls and scattering lightning spears.

Gu Han and Lu Xiao coordinated perfectly one attacking, one controlling.

One was wild like fire, the other calm like ice.

Two opposing forces perfectly combined, producing a terrifying synergy greater than the sum of their parts.

“Now!” Gu Han shouted.

He seized a weak point in the giant zombie and slammed his hands together.

“Icebound Throne!”

Two massive ice walls rose from both sides and slammed toward the middle, pinning the giant zombie between them!

“Roar!”

The monster thrashed wildly but couldn’t break free.

“Perfect opportunity!”

Lu Xiao’s eyes narrowed, concentrating all his lightning power into his right hand.

He became a blinding streak of lightning, soaring into the sky!

“Judgment Thunder!”

A golden thunderbolt, thicker and brighter than all previous lightning combined, descended like divine punishment, striking the S-class crystal core embedded in the stitched giant’s chest with unerring precision!

“Boom !!!”

For a moment, the world seemed to consist of nothing but blinding white light.

Jiang Lingyue instinctively closed her eyes.

When she opened them again, the battle was over.

The arrogant stitched giant had been cleaved in two, charred fragments scattered everywhere.

In the center of the ruins, Gu Han and Lu Xiao stood side by side.

Both were panting and battered, but their faces shone with victorious joy.

Lu Xiao stepped forward, digging out the basketball-sized red crystal core from the wreckage.

He weighed the S-class core in his hand, then turned to Gu Han with a grin.

“Ice Face, this time… it’s a tie.”

Gu Han looked at him and, for once, didn’t argue.

He just nodded slightly.

Dragging their exhausted bodies and the enormous prize, they returned to the hotel.

When they placed the still-glowing S-class crystal core in front of Jiang Lingyue, she looked at the core larger than her head and then at these two men, disheveled yet devastatingly handsome.

Her heart skipped a beat.

“You… both worked so hard,” she said sincerely.

“So… what about the competition this time?” Lu Xiao asked, a trace of anticipation in his eyes.

Jiang Lingyue smiled.

“There’s no winner.”

She paused, looked at both of them, and said slowly, word by word:

“You two… are both my heroes.”
