The medical room was located on one side of the lobby. The room that originally had a sign reading “VIP Lounge” had now been transformed into a bright, spotless modern emergency room.

Inside were a hospital bed, a cabinet filled with various medicines, and several devices Jiang Lingyue couldn’t recognize, faintly glowing.

After an enormous amount of effort, Jiang Lingyue finally dragged the man named Gu Han onto the hospital bed.Full novel: Billions in post-apocalyptic stockpiling? Not as good as a bowl of braised beef noodles. — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Looking at the terrifying wounds covering his body, she had no idea where to start.

“System, what do I do now?”

Please use the “Bio-Repair Spray” in the medical cabinet and spray it directly onto the patient’s wounds.

Jiang Lingyue hurried to the cabinet and, following the system’s instructions, found a small silver spray bottle.

Returning to the bedside, she looked at the torn flesh across Gu Han’s body and felt her stomach churn. Suppressing the nausea, she closed her eyes and sprayed him from head to toe.

A cool, refreshing aura spread through the air.

Then something miraculous happened.

The horrifying wounds began to stop bleeding and scab over at a speed visible to the naked eye the moment they touched the spray. They didn’t heal instantly, but at least they didn’t look nearly as terrifying anymore.

“So powerful?” Jiang Lingyue marveled. If this thing were taken to an outside survivor base, it could probably be traded for a mountain of gold.

Mission “Saving the Dying” completion: 50%. Please wait for the target to awaken and sign a “rental contract” with him to fully complete the mission.

That was it? That simple?

Jiang Lingyue let out a sigh of relief. As soon as the tension in her nerves relaxed, the hunger she had suppressed for so long surged back like a tidal wave.

Her stomach growled even louder than before.

Right! My instant noodles!

The luxury version! With braised egg and sausage!

Jiang Lingyue ignored the man on the floor and dashed back to her room, boiling water and tearing open the instant noodle packaging at lightning speed.

When the hot water poured into the bowl, the familiar, bold aroma of braised beef exploded into the air, filling the entire room with its rich fragrance.

Jiang Lingyue took a deep breath, feeling every pore in her body relax.

Oh my god it was the smell of instant noodles! The smell of the peaceful old world!

She hadn’t smelled this “industrial seasoning” goodness for five whole years.

In the apocalypse, food was either dry compressed biscuits, mutant plant roots with a muddy taste, or poorly cleaned mutant beast meat that still carried a bloody smell.

Something like instant noodles had long become a legendary luxury item.

She carefully squeezed every last drop out of the seasoning packets, unwilling to waste even a little. Then she placed the shiny sausage and the round braised egg on top of the noodle block, closed the lid, and began the most unbearable three minutes of her life.

During those three minutes, she fidgeted nonstop checking the time, leaning close to the bowl to sniff the aroma again and again like a grade-schooler waiting for lunch.

“Ding ding ding!”

The timer rang.

Time’s up!

Jiang Lingyue eagerly lifted the lid, and an even richer wave of steam and fragrance rushed out.

The noodles had soaked to perfection, each strand distinct and saturated with broth, glowing an enticing reddish-brown.

The dehydrated vegetables had puffed back to life among them. The sausage and braised egg, warmed by the steam, glistened with oil, making her mouth water.

She picked up the fork and reverently took a sip of the soup first.

“Ah ”

The warm, savory broth slid down her throat, instantly warming her cold, empty stomach. The salty fragrance with a hint of spice stimulated her long-dormant taste buds, making her nearly moan in happiness.

This was the taste!

She couldn’t hold back any longer and stuffed a huge bite of noodles into her mouth.

“Slurp, slurp ”

Ignoring the heat, she devoured them greedily. The noodles were smooth and springy, the broth rich and flavorful. Every bite felt like a kind of healing.

For five years, she had lived in fear, hunger, and despair like a rat scurrying through sewers, barely surviving. She thought this was how her life would always be.

But now she was sitting in a safe, bright, warm room, eating a steaming bowl of instant noodles.

The feeling was so unreal it was like a dream.

Tears slowly streamed down her face and dripped into the soup, but she didn’t even bother wiping them away, continuing to shovel noodles into her mouth.

Soon the entire bowl was gone, even the broth drained to the last drop.

Still reluctant to finish, she licked her lips and carefully picked up the braised egg. She stared at it for a moment before finally taking a small bite.

The egg white was springy, the yolk soft and crumbly, and the braised flavor had soaked all the way through. It was so delicious she almost wanted to cry.

Last came the sausage. In the apocalypse, meat was the ultimate luxury. This tiny sausage, to her, was as extravagant as a royal feast.

She ate it slowly, savoring every bite as if performing some sacred ritual.

When everything was finished, Jiang Lingyue let out a satisfied burp and slumped back in her chair, rubbing her warm stomach. She felt completely alive again.

This was what living like a human felt like!

Full and satisfied, her brain began working again.

She remembered the S-class ability user still unconscious downstairs.

“I wonder if that guy has woken up yet. That’s an incredibly powerful fighter…”

An S-class worker…

Jiang Lingyue’s eyes lit up.

“Didn’t the system say crystal cores can be exchanged for things in the mall? I can’t go out to kill zombies myself but Gu Han can!”

“He’s an S-class boss! Killing some zombies and digging out a few crystal cores should be nothing for him.”

“Then he can fight for his life outside while I relax in the hotel, eating good food and just giving him tasks with a few words.”

Wasn’t that the ultimate essence of being a landlady?

The more she thought about it, the more brilliant the idea seemed.

Jiang Lingyue’s mood instantly became wonderful, and she even started humming a little tune.

Still, Gu Han didn’t look like someone easy to deal with. His whole face screamed keep strangers away. When he woke up, would he really obediently listen to her?

What if he resisted?

Jiang Lingyue frowned in worry. She definitely couldn’t fight an S-class ability user even if he was seriously injured.

The host is the sole owner of the hotel and holds the highest authority within it.

The system spoke up at the right moment to explain.

Within the hotel’s domain, the host may establish all rules. Once a “rental contract” is signed, tenants must obey unconditionally. Otherwise, the system will punish them, with the highest penalty being direct erasure.

“Erasure?” Jiang Lingyue’s eyes widened. “That powerful?”

Yes, host.

Jiang Lingyue’s heart finally settled.

With the ultimate trump card of “erasure,” what was she afraid of?

Forget S-class even if an SS-class showed up, they’d still have to obediently work for her and pay rent!

She crossed her legs smugly, feeling like she had already reached the peak of life.

Now all that remained was to wait for the S-class boss to wake up.

She got up and walked to the medical room to check on Gu Han.

Just as she reached the door, she noticed the man on the bed seemed to move a finger slightly. His brows tightened further, as if…

He was about to wake up.
