Two hours passed quickly, and Uryū had just about adjusted his mindset when his gaze snapped back to Lucas.

Because spiritual pressure was radiating off the man now, and as the seconds passed, it kept growing stronger.

After a dozen seconds of that, it suddenly surged.Full novel: Bleach: Everyone Forgot About Chad — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Pale blue spiritual pressure covered Lucas from head to foot.

The ground shook violently and the air churned in every direction.

In that burst, Uryū saw the change in his right arm.

It was wrapped in a layer of black armor now, with a blood-red pattern set in the center of it.

And a U-shaped plate, resembling a small shield, had formed at his shoulder.

Uryū could sense it clearly.

The spiritual pressure coming off the man had jumped several levels at once.

A moment ago it had been slightly above an ordinary human.

Now even an average Hollow could not compare.

Lucas looked down at the black armor on his right arm and felt the power surging inside it.

Set against this, his previous strength was simply far too lacking.

Once he had a feel for it, he opened his attribute panel.

〔Name: Chad〕

〔Spiritual Pressure: Seated Officer (39%)〕

〔Abilities: Brazo Derecha de Gigante (Elementary 1%), Brazo Izquierda del Diablo (Not Awakened 9%), Reishi Manipulation (Elementary 23%)〕

The abilities were still the same names, but they had undergone tremendous changes.

First was the spiritual pressure.

It had been at ordinary human level, and the instant the ability awakened, it leapt across several ranks at once.

According to the System’s classification, two ranks sat before Seated Officer.

Student and Ordinary Member.

Those two corresponded to a trainee at the Soul Society’s Spirit Arts Academy and to a rank-and-file member after joining a Division.

Of course, those ranks referred to the general standard, not to the prodigies.

“It actually jumped straight to Seated Officer, and judging by the progress, it’s already past a lot of the low-ranking ones.”

“No wonder that in the manga, after ten days of training and entering the Soul Society, Chad could beat some high-ranking Seated Officers without much trouble.”

Looking at the change, Lucas felt a bit stirred.

From the awakening alone, he already held power like this.

“Congratulations. Your special power has awakened, and the awakening by itself pushed your spiritual pressure up several grades. It’s truly incredible.”

You have to understand, his own spiritual pressure was still slightly stronger, and he had been training since childhood.

And Lucas?

How long had he been at it?

One awakening and he had reached this level.

Lucas could tell the man was envious.

In his shoes, not knowing the details, he would have been envious too.

Fullbringers come out of an awakening with considerable combat power already.

Even Inoue Orihime, whose ability leaned toward support, could take out an ordinary Hollow with a single Koten Zanshun when she first awakened.

Furthermore, a Fullbringer’s strength rises very rapidly.

Never mind the Thousand-Year Blood War arc.

After the original Chad went to Hueco Mundo, his combat power reached the level of an ordinary captain.

And you have to understand, from his awakening to entering Hueco Mundo was a little over three months in total.

Ordinary person to captain class in three months.

That rate of improvement was simply terrifying.

But a Fullbringer rises fast and caps low.

Some of the abilities are genuinely broken, yet the raw combat power is not strong.

They lean mainly on those strange, peculiar tricks.

By comparison, Shinigami and Quincy take longer to grow, but their ceiling is high, and combined with certain special methods they can spike quickly too.

For a pure combat type like Chad, the late game gets genuinely awkward.

“By the way, what exactly does that arm of yours do?”

His envy spent, Uryū asked with some curiosity.

It was the first time he had seen the ability, so of course he wanted to know.

“The specifics? Let me try it out.”

Lucas knew his Fullbring was purely for fighting, but he was very curious himself about how hard it actually hit.

After all, there is a big difference between watching anime and reality.

With Uryū’s Reishi Array hiding his aura, he did not have to worry about causing too much of a commotion.

He fixed his gaze on the waterfall in front of him, clenched his fist, and threw a punch.

Spiritual power gathered rapidly on his fist, and as he swung, a pale blue shockwave erupted from it.

“Boom!” This chapter is updated first at g.com.

A tremendous roar, then the ground shaking.

The current reversed, and the waterfall was severed outright by the punch.

Even the rock wall behind the water was blasted open with an enormous crater.

“Hiss. What great power.”

Uryū’s mouth hung open as he took in the exaggerated scene in front of him.

The destructive force was simply too strong.

It had already far exceeded what the man’s spiritual pressure level should allow.

“Hoo. The power is great enough, but the consumption is just as exaggerated. That drained almost half the spiritual power in my body.”

Lucas was very satisfied with the destruction he had caused.

Then he checked his reserves and went quiet.

No wonder in the manga, the original Chad would simply collapse after a few punches.

Freshly awakened in the human world, two punches put him on the ground.

During the Soul Society arc, five overdrew him completely.

The power of the Brazo Derecha de Gigante was indeed very great.

But so was the cost.

As things stood, attacking at full force, Lucas had enough in the tank for exactly two punches.

“Half? It seems great power comes at a price. Looks like what you need to do next is find a way to weaken the punch.”

Uryū was speechless hearing it.

One punch for half his spiritual power, and two punches meant he was finished.

That was a bit absurd.

In real combat, unless he could end the fight in two, he would just be waiting to die.

“That’s what I think too.”

Lucas nodded.

He did need to lower the output.

Otherwise, facing many enemies at once, unless they were all bunched together so he could wipe out a group with one punch, he simply would not be able to fight.

Of course, the Brazo Derecha de Gigante was not only about firing shockwaves.

There was melee as well.

But even without the shockwaves the consumption was not small, and he still needed to learn how to control his own power precisely.
