Lu Heng lowered his head slightly, calculating how to explain himself.

He couldn’t reveal everything about the Book of Destiny, but he didn’t want to hide it completely either.

As for Ya Fei, Lu Heng trusted her completely—not just because she had saved him years ago, but because in the original story, her character was one that would never betray those she cared about.Full novel: BTTH: Book Of Destiny, The Five Elements Supreme — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Lu Heng looked up, meeting Ya Fei’s questioning gaze, and spoke with some hesitation.

“Sister Ya Fei, my Cultivation Technique is a bit special.

When I made my Breakthrough, it naturally surfaced in my mind.

Furthermore, I also obtained an Alchemist’s Legacy.”

The smile on Ya Fei’s face froze.

She wasn’t a stranger to lucky encounters, but she had never heard of a Cultivation Technique simply manifesting in someone’s mind.

However, such a Legacy memory would be absolutely precious.

Ya Fei immediately composed herself, took a step forward, and pressed her hands onto Lu Heng’s shoulders.

“Younger brother, you must never mention this to anyone else, including Uncle Gu Ni.

An ordinary man is innocent, but possessing a treasure makes him guilty.

Do you understand this logic?”

Lu Heng nodded solemnly, indicating that he understood.

He felt the warmth radiating from Ya Fei’s palms, and a warm current surged through his heart as well.

It felt truly good to be cared for like this.

“Wait…

you just said you obtained an Alchemist’s Legacy!”

Ya Fei’s voice suddenly rose several octaves, filled with disbelief.

Lu Heng gave a slight nod.

He extended his right hand and willed it so.

A wisp of cyan Qi condensed in his palm, with a streak of crimson Qi entwined within it.

Ya Fei stared at the cyan-red Qi, her breathing becoming rapid.

She naturally recognized this attribute of Qi—the dual Fire and Wood attributes.

This was the prerequisite for becoming an Alchemist!

Lu Heng withdrew his Qi and said calmly, “Sister Ya Fei, I want to try becoming an Alchemist.”

Ya Fei fell silent.

If a nine-year-old Dou Zhe was a Genius, then a nine-year-old Dou Zhe who was also an Alchemist was a Prodigy.

Ya Fei looked up at the clear-eyed youth before her.

The child who had fought wild dogs for half a steamed bun in the snow three years ago had now grown to this level.

An Alchemist.

The most noble profession on the entire Dou Qi Continent.

Even a first-grade Alchemist would be an honored guest of every major Family in Wutan City.

The reason the Mite’er Auction House could establish itself in Wutan City was largely because Gu Ni, a Second-Grade Alchemist, had been transferred here from the Imperial Capital.

“What do you need?”

Ya Fei didn’t doubt Lu Heng’s words.

She was a smart woman; she knew what to ask and what not to ask.

“A Medicine Cauldron, a dual-port one will do.

Also some low-tier Rank 1 Materials—nothing too expensive.

Purple Blue Leaves and White Lotus Fruits will suffice for practice.”

Lu Heng didn’t stand on ceremony and directly listed his requirements.

Being an Alchemist was a money-burning profession.

Without a large accumulation of Materials in the early stages, one simply couldn’t develop the necessary feel.

“Just those?” Ya Fei raised an eyebrow.

“Just those for now.”

Ya Fei stood up, walked over to Lu Heng, and reached out to ruffle his hair.

Her expression became exceptionally tender.

“Younger Brother Lu Heng, your sister has made the right bet.”

She spoke softly, then turned to walk into the room, her red dress fluttering.

“By the way, your birthday is coming up soon, isn’t it?

Don’t sleep in tomorrow morning.

Consider the Medicine Cauldron and Materials as a birthday gift from your sister.

As for whether you can succeed, that will depend on your own ability.”

Watching Ya Fei’s retreating back, the corners of Lu Heng’s mouth curled slightly.

“A birthday gift, huh…”

This’soft rice’ tasted truly delicious.

As for why he hadn’t asked Sister Ya Fei for the Materials to awaken his Physique, it was naturally because he didn’t want to put too much pressure on her.

If Lu Heng successfully became an Alchemist, obtaining those Materials wouldn’t be difficult…

The next morning, the hustle and bustle of Wutan City woke the entire city with the first rays of sunlight.

Mite’er Auction House.

Ya Fei had changed into a pale purple brocade robe.

Though not as flamboyant and fiery as yesterday, it added a touch of nobility and elegance.

She led Lu Heng straight through the long corridor toward the warehouse at the back of the Auction House.

Along the way, many maidservants and guards bowed respectfully upon seeing Ya Fei, but their eyes showed a hint of surprise when they saw the common-clothed youth following behind her.

Who was this boy?

To think the chief auctioneer would personally lead the way for him?

Lu Heng’s expression remained calm, ignoring the inquisitive gazes around him.

This mindset made Ya Fei, who occasionally looked back, nod inwardly.

This level of composure didn’t look like a nine-year-old child at all.

“This is Warehouse Number One.”

Ya Fei stopped before a heavy black iron door, took out a seal from her storage ring, and pressed it against the lock.

Clack, clack, clack!

The sound of heavy machinery rang out as the door slowly opened.

A scent mixed with metal, herbs, and old wood wafted toward them.

The warehouse was enormous, with rows of shelves stretching to the end of their vision.

Various weapons, armor, and scrolls were placed haphazardly, making for a dazzling sight.

“The Medicine Cauldrons are over there.” Ya Fei pointed to an area in the corner.

Lu Heng walked over, his gaze sweeping across the row of differently shaped Medicine Cauldrons on the shelf.

Most were brass-colored and roughly made; only a few were somewhat exquisite.

His gaze finally settled on a dark red Medicine Cauldron.

This cauldron was about half a meter tall, with a beast-head shaped fire port on each side.

Simple cloud patterns were engraved on the body.

While it wasn’t a high-grade item, it was sturdy and heavy.

“Good eye.”

Ya Fei leaned against a shelf with her arms crossed.

“This was acquired recently from a down-and-out Mercenary group.

The quality is decent.”

“This is the one.”

Lu Heng wasn’t picky.

He stepped forward and patted the cauldron’s body, which let out a dull thud.

After picking the Medicine Cauldron, Ya Fei took Lu Heng to the medicinal Materials section for a sweep.

Hemostat Grass, Blood Clotting Fruit, Qi Vitality Flower…

As long as Lu Heng named it, Ya Fei didn’t even blink and had someone pack it up immediately.

Watching the piles of valuable Materials being packed into bags, Lu Heng silently kept a tally in his mind.

These weren’t just Materials; they were clearly a pile of shining gold coins.

“Let’s go to the refining room.”

Ya Fei gestured for an attendant to bring the items over.

“Uncle Gu Ni should be inside researching Medicinal Pills at this time.”

The refining room of the Mite’er Auction House was located on the top floor and was the most heavily guarded place in the entire building.

Before even entering, one could smell a rich medicinal fragrance.

Pushing open the heavy stone door, a wave of heat rushed toward them.

The room was extremely spacious, and the surrounding walls were reinforced with special heat-insulating Materials.

A huge cyan Medicine Cauldron stood in the center of the room, currently emitting curls of white smoke.

An old man wearing a cyan Alchemist robe had his back to the door, holding a silver needle and carefully stirring something inside the cauldron.

His hair was white, and the badge on his chest was engraved with an ancient Medicine Cauldron, where two silver ripples were particularly conspicuous under the firelight.

Second-Grade Alchemist, Gu Ni.
