Xiao Yan rubbed his nose, and as a gust of wind blew past, that faint, fishy stench vanished without a trace.
He didn’t take it to heart, simply assuming he had misidentified the scent, and looked at Yun Yun, who was meditating not far away.
“Yun Zhi, how are the current conditions of your injuries and the Seal?” Xiao Yan asked.
Yun Yun’s eyes brightened slightly as she looked at Xiao Yan, her expression remaining calm: “My injuries are mostly recovered, and the Seal should still take a few days.”
Xiao Yan stroked his chin: “Is that so?
Then continue trying to break the Seal.”
Paying Yun Yun no further mind, Xiao Yan turned and left.
Yun Yun’s Realm had not yet recovered, so she couldn’t help him; he could only work hard on his own.
Watching Xiao Yan come over out of nowhere just to ask such a sentence and leave, Yun Yun felt inexplicably displeased.
Xiao Huo’s attitude toward her compared to his attitude toward Xiao Yi Xian was far too different.
Although she also knew that her relationship with Xiao Huo certainly wasn’t as close as Xiao Yi Xian’s and Xiao Huo’s.
“Yun Yun, you really are strange.” She furrowed her brows, murmuring to herself inwardly.
…
A few days later.
Deep within the Magical Beast Mountain Range.
Xiao Yan clenched his right hand into a fist and threw it out swiftly.
“Boom!”
A sonic boom instantly exploded, and the flames transformed into a trailing streak of light, following right behind the fist to land on the chest of a Tier 4 Three-Headed Timber Wolf.
“Roar!”
The Three-Headed Timber Wolf let out an unwilling roar; its special wood-like body inherently possessed extremely formidable defense and fire resistance.
However, beneath Xiao Yan’s immensely powerful punch, an arm-thick hole was brutally smashed open, and the purple flames also began frantically scorching its wood-like body.
After a mere few breaths, the purple firelight completely surrounded the Three-Headed Timber Wolf.
Within the firelight, the body of the Three-Headed Timber Wolf rapidly shrank.
By the time Xiao Yan withdrew his purple fire, only a pool of black ash and a wood-attribute Demonic Beast core were left in place.
Looking at that core, Xiao Yan was so excited he almost shed tears.
“Finally, it finally dropped a wood-attribute Demonic Beast core!”
Old Yao’s Soul entity appeared, equally excited.
“Yan Xiaozi, this master almost thought your good fortune had run out.
For so many days, you found and hunted down more than ten Tier 4 Magical Beasts, only to obtain just this one wood-attribute core.
You truly have terrible luck.”
Xiao Yan also wiped away a tear of grievance: “Teacher, stop talking about it.
At least we obtained it, right?”
“Counting this wood-attribute core, the medicinal materials for refining the Purple Heart Barrier-Breaking Pill have finally been gathered.”
Old Yao felt a sense of relief: “That’s right, let’s hurry back and do some Alchemy.”
Xiao Yan didn’t dawdle either; picking up the core, he summoned the Purple Cloud Wings and flew toward the small valley.
Before long, he returned to the valley.
Before Xiao Yan even landed, he saw Yun Yun soaring with her wings spread.
He knew very well what that pair of cyan Dou Qi wings represented.
When Xiao Yan saw Yun Yun, Yun Yun also saw Xiao Yan.
The two of them landed together.
Xiao Yan was all smiles: “Congratulations, congratulations.
The Seal has finally been broken.”
Yun Yun nodded calmly, smiling faintly: “I must also thank you and Miss Xiao Yi Xian for helping me quickly recover from my injuries, allowing me to break the Purple Crystal Seal so quickly.”
“Next, according to our previous agreement, I will listen to your dispatches for a month.”
“That is naturally for the best.” Good things kept coming one after another, and Xiao Yan’s mood became even better.
“Then is there anything you need me to do right now?” Yun Yun asked.
Xiao Yan shook his head: “There indeed is a matter, but it’s not urgent for now.
Let me go refine a Medicinal Pill first.”
“Alchemy?
Alright, I will act as your Protector.” Yun Yun offered proactively.
Faced with this initiative, Xiao Yan keenly perceived that Yun Yun had the intention of quickly settling the favor.
He didn’t mind either, directly picking up the Medicine Cauldron and beginning to refine the Purple Heart Barrier-Breaking Pill in an open space.
“Right, where did Xiao Yi Xian go?” Xiao Yan asked Yun Yun.
Yun Yun glanced at the wooden house and said: “She doesn’t seem to have woken up yet.”
“Is that so?
She might be tired, let her sleep in peace.” Xiao Yan didn’t take it to heart and began Alchemy.
A Tier 4 fire-attribute Demonic Beast core, a Tier 4 wood-attribute Demonic Beast core, a stalk of Piercing Soul Leaf…
As Xiao Yan took out the medicinal materials, Yun Yun said in surprise: “A Tier 4 Demonic Beast core, are you going to refine a Tier 4 Medicinal Pill?”
Xiao Yan nodded indifferently: “Mhm, the Purple Heart Barrier-Breaking Pill.”
“The Purple Heart Barrier-Breaking Pill?!” Compared to her previous surprise, Yun Yun was directly shocked this time.
Although the Purple Heart Barrier-Breaking Pill was also a Tier 4 Medicinal Pill, its refinement difficulty was not inferior in the slightest to a Tier 5 Medicinal Pill.
Its effect was to raise a person with the Realm of a Great Dou Master by one star level, and the same person could take two pills—meaning a full two star levels—which was enough to spare a person an unknown number of months and days of bitter cultivation.
This kind of Medicinal Pill could only be refined by Fama and Gu He throughout the entire Jia Ma Empire.
This also meant that Xiao Huo was not a Tier 3 Alchemist as she previously thought, nor was he the Tier 4 Alchemist she had just guessed, but rather a Tier 5 Alchemist!
A sudden thought of subduing him rose in Yun Yun’s heart, but the moment she thought of how she had approached Xiao Huo with a fake identity, she couldn’t bring herself to speak.
After thinking over and over, she ultimately just sighed and said nothing more.
Xiao Yan began Alchemy, releasing the purple fire and sending it into the Medicine Cauldron.
Afterwards, each stalk of medicinal material and core were sent into the Medicine Cauldron one by one, transforming into medicinal liquid.
As time passed, the medicinal liquid was condensed into a pill by Xiao Yan.
Within the Medicine Cauldron, purple mist slowly drifted out.
This was the characteristic of a Tier 4 Medicinal Pill: colored medicinal fragrance!
Furthermore, the medicinal fragrance of Xiao Yan’s Purple Heart Barrier-Breaking Pill was rich, directly merging with the mist in the sky above and adding a hint of purple to the entire small valley.
From this, one could see just how high the quality of this Purple Heart Barrier-Breaking Pill he refined was.
Yun Yun looked at the Purple Heart Barrier-Breaking Pill, thinking of her own disciple, Nalan Yanran.
According to the growth route she had planned for her, she should be able to advance to the Realm of a Great Dou Master before her duel with Xiao Yan.
If she were to swallow the Purple Heart Barrier-Breaking Pill as well, wouldn’t her chances of winning become even higher?
“Xiao Huo, can you refine another portion of the Purple Heart Barrier-Breaking Pill?” Yun Yun asked.
“As an exchange, you can put forward your demands.
Within the scope of my abilities, I will do my utmost to satisfy them.”
“Do your utmost to satisfy?” Xiao Yan put away the Medicinal Pill, looking Yun Yun up and down.
Yun Yun felt her entire body tingle with numbness, and she said with shy anger: “That is not allowed!”
Xiao Yan frowned: “What are you talking about?
I was just thinking that with your skills, you should have a faction behind you.”
“Since you want to make a trade with me, that’s fine too.
I am interested in Beast Fire.”
“You and I will maintain contact; you find Beast Fire for me, and I refine Medicinal Pills for you.
How about it?”
Yun Yun let out a sigh of relief, saying with a serious expression: “Naturally, that’s fine.
Once I return to the faction I am in, I will mobilize its resources to search for Beast Fire for you.”
Xiao Yan naturally knew what Yun Yun wanted the Purple Heart Barrier-Breaking Pill for—to give it to Nalan Yanran, of course.
However, he didn’t care in the slightest.
Let alone allowing Nalan Yanran to gain a few more stars in the Great Dou Master Realm, even if Nalan Yanran were to leap straight to Dou Wang out of thin air, he would still feel zero pressure.
A Tier 5 Demonic Beast Physical Body was just this powerful.
“The trade is established, so let’s talk about serious business.
Since your Realm has already recovered, then hunt down the Tier 6 Demonic Beasts of this Magical Beast Mountain Range together with me.
I have a use for taking the essential blood from their hearts.” Xiao Yan stated straightforwardly.
Yun Yun’s heart did not understand the intent behind Xiao Huo’s action, but she didn’t press for answers.
She was the one being ordered around, so she just needed to obediently listen.
Xiao Yan was very satisfied with this, putting away the Medicine Cauldron and walking toward the wooden house.
A single day apart feels like three autumns.
He was going to go see if his own physician and little cook had woken up.
