Chapter 19: New Ability

Building A Primitive Tribe With My Girlfriend's Aunt

"It looks good."

Elena and the others put on the leather armor. The seemingly loose leather armor actually became tight, clinging closely to their skin.

As if they were one entity.

Everyone’s figure was fully displayed at this moment, as if perfect curves were naturally etched onto their bodies.

The brownish-yellow leather skirt looked quite similar to denim.

Ethan had long heard Christy say that clothing cut out initially fit loosely, but once the first person wore it, it would perfectly conform to that person’s figure. It became unsuitable for anyone else to wear; they would need new ones cut, which would waste materials.

"It seems the S-Rank tailor really has some skill."

After putting on the protective gear, the team was fully assembled.

They began to split into two groups.

Ethan’s group kept heading north, gradually walking deeper into the mist.

Except for the bronze dagger held by Elena, all the other girls were using goblin clubs as weapons.

Whoosh—

A sound came from the jungle, unclear through the mist.

All three girls were terrified and huddled together.

Ethan was also startled. Could any movement in the mist be a good thing?

However, the sound wasn’t very loud; it should be something small.

"Cowards," Emily commented, looking at them.

"You," Ethan murmured, but seeing Emily staring at him, he quickly fell silent, knowing he couldn’t stand against her.

The few of them continued walking.

Whoosh—

A small figure swiftly darted through the grass. Ethan saw it! He only caught an outline.

It looked like a rabbit.

Swish!

Before he could understand what had happened, an arrow was shot.

When he looked over, it was a perfect hit, with Emily standing in position.

"Wow, Aunt, you are so good," Elena praised her aunt.

"I know," Emily said. The group walked over and found that it was indeed a rabbit, its abdomen pierced by Emily’s arrow and pinned to the ground, unable to move.

It immediately lost its life.

"We’re having roast whole rabbit tonight!"

The next second, the plump rabbit turned into light particles and vanished before everyone’s eyes, becoming [Rabbit Leg × 1] and [Rabbit Fur × 1].

"This world seems like a game; killed monsters automatically turn into items," Elena said.

Ethan nodded. "Yes, but unlike a game, in this world, killing monsters doesn’t upgrade Talents. We must eat food containing spiritual energy to advance. I can’t feel the spiritual energy from this rabbit leg like I could from the White Spirit Fruit, so it should just be ordinary food."

Ethan instructed one of the accompanying female classmates to pick up the dropped items and hang them on her body.

Ethan planned for Grace to double these resources later that night. If she was lucky enough to advance to the third tier today, wouldn’t she be able to triple them?

And how? Well, it was his Talent.

The team continued to advance. They didn’t see any more small animals along the way.

"Roar! Roar!!"

"Stop."

They heard one or two roars from large animals ahead.

Ahead was a small clearing, with a huge rock blocking the middle.

Next to the rock was a strange small tree bearing fruit. The fruit resembled the shape of the White Spirit Fruit, but it shimmered with golden light. There were five fruits on the tree.

Ethan could feel that the five fruits were emitting the same spiritual energy fluctuations as the White Spirit Fruit, perhaps even stronger.

"It’s a Gold Spirit Fruit. We’ve really encountered something good this time."

Two black bears, larger than the Black-Maned Wolf, were fighting fiercely to seize the Gold Spirit Fruit tree.

"Roar! Roar!!!"

The two bears slapped each other, and a significant amount of the surrounding mist was blown away by the residual force of their attacks.

"Oh my goodness, such a huge black bear. This is the first time I’ve ever seen one," whispered one of the girls in the hiding squad, covering her mouth as she watched.

"Chief’s husband, should we wait for them to finish fighting before reaping the fisherman’s profit?"

"Of course." Ethan curled his lips upward.

It really was a great omen; two black bears were fighting, and he could pick up the spoils.

The two bears fought back and forth, covered in wounds, with fresh blood dripping. As new wounds appeared, old ones were already scabbing over.

Ethan and the others observed for an hour. The combat power of these two bears was extraordinary; they didn’t know how many hours the bears had been fighting, yet they still had energy.

The right Black Iron Bear, taking advantage of the left one resting, performed a bear roll and fiercely slammed into the lower body of the left one!

The left bear fell to the ground. During this time, the right bear reached out a paw, attempting to grab a Gold Spirit Fruit!

It was just short of reaching the Gold Spirit Fruit!

Its bear leg was tightly held by the left bear, which had noticed the right bear’s sneak attack.

"This sly one actually tried a sneak attack," Ethan chuckled at the bear’s slight cunning.

The next moment, the right bear’s sharp claws pierced a Gold Spirit Fruit.

It successfully plucked the Gold Spirit Fruit using its claw.

It brought the Gold Spirit Fruit to its mouth and swallowed it in one bite, just like eating a candy bean.

Immediately after, the right bear emitted a faint light all over its body, and its wounds healed slightly.

A fierce light flashed in its eyes, making even the left bear wary.

Did it... advance?

The left bear struggled violently and flipped over, intending to fight for the Gold Spirit Fruit as well, but it was caught by the right bear and violently lifted up, then slammed onto the rock.

Now the right bear’s strength was much greater than the left bear’s.

The balance between the two had been lost.

"Roar! Roar!!"

The right bear kept roaring and slowly walked toward the Gold Spirit Fruit. Although the left bear was afraid, it still had to fight for this opportunity.

It seemed to have made some kind of resolution: if it couldn’t have it, it wouldn’t let the right bear have it either.

It charged madly toward the Gold Spirit Fruit, determined to destroy it.

"Damn your ancestors, you sly dog!" Ethan couldn’t stand it anymore.

He had tolerated the right bear sneakily eating one earlier because he couldn’t stop it.

Now the left bear was going to destroy all the fruits, and he couldn’t tolerate that. You might not eat them, but I still want to eat them!

"Aunt Emily, shoot it!"

Ethan shouted, and an arrow immediately shot toward the left bear’s shoulder.

"Boom!!"

A violent explosion ripped apart its left shoulder.

The arrow did not completely sink into the Black Iron Bear’s body.

Just as their name suggested, they were as hard as black iron.

Both bears noticed Ethan and his group. They stopped their internal fight and instead jointly attacked Ethan, charging toward him.

"Run!" Ethan shouted as he ran in the opposite direction, drawing one of the bears after him.

Emily saw this and smiled faintly. "At least he knows what he’s doing."

"Aunt, he was doing it to protect us. Now quickly kill the bear," Elena said, trying to defend her boyfriend.

"Yeah, yeah," Emily replied, but her hands didn’t stop. Two more arrows shot toward the right bear. They sank into its skin and exploded, but after consuming the Gold Spirit Fruit, its hide had become even tougher. The explosions only caused minor tears in its skin instead of blasting open bloody holes.

The right bear was hit twice. Its chest was oozing blood, and the intense pain made it hiss continuously.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

Ethan had come prepared. Before leaving, he had also brought plenty of pebbles enchanted by Jessica as a backup.

He threw a handful of pebbles at the gigantic Black Iron Bears.

The pebbles exploded like a string of firecrackers, crackling loudly.

The sudden barrage of explosions forced both Black Iron Bears to shield their heads with their arms.

Ethan seized the brief opening, dashed to the tree, grabbed two Gold Spirit Fruits, and took a huge bite.

You can instantly advance by eating one, and so can I!

The texture of the Gold Spirit Fruit was even smoother and more tender than the White Spirit Fruit. It turned into liquid the moment it entered his mouth and slid down into his stomach.

A faint black light emanated from Ethan’s body, and he felt his Talent stir violently.

He clearly felt his Talent upgrading!

He quickly looked toward his Talent slot and saw that he had awakened a new ability.
